You can presume what you want ???? I have never dealt with an agent to get ALL of my extensions (Marriage and Retirement) so I have no idea if the stamps people get are fake or not. I just wonder when people, who deal with agents, and get their passports back, that the stamps they have in their passports are 100% legit. For example: Near all my Extensions there is a Number recorded: for example A 123, which I guess my Extension is recorded in the "Book" A and it's on Number 123. (Each extension has a different number). This (I Guess) is for when your Passport is checked if you have a valid extension of stay / not on overstay, that the IO can check about if the extension is legit or not. So again, I wonder if extensions people got through an agent are also registered in those "books" and THUS hold up under scrutiny!

So you don't have the 400k for renewal? Correct? If so yes Savannakhet is a real option, there is also Ho Chi Minh, but that requires an appointment (approx 4-5 week wait). Savannakhet doesn't require an appointment, but be warned about 2 things 1- It can be very busy at the consulate (long queues) (so be there early) 2- Don't go and apply on Friday because you will only get your passport back on Monday 2pm. (Some people don't like the town (too quiet)) but we always liked it (good food (on the river) and of course Beer Lao ???? )

60 day extension to visit your wife available from Immigration (but AFAIK only 1 time per entry) Or go to Savannakhet Laos and get a MULTIPLE Entry NON-O Visa (Basis on Marriage to a Thai Citizen) which allows you to stay 90 days in Thailand, and then you have to do a Border Run. Or after those 90 days goto Immigration and get another 60 day extension, but after that you HAVE to leave the country (you can come back immediately) to active another 90 day entry. You can stretch that visa for approx 17 (??) months in total if you time it right.

Absolutely true. I normally wear a mask, but only when driving (unless I am coming up to a check point) I don't. So I was in the car waiting as my wife went to the 7/11. She called me and said "she forgot her wallet". So I stepped out of the car (maskless) and went into the 7/11 to give my wife the wallet, immediately 3 staff member started shouting "MASSSSSSKKKKKKK" So I stopped called my wife over and gave her the wallet and walked back to the car Ps: Not Pattaya but up country Isarn

Yellow book troubles reporting to DOPA
MJCM replied to Billy Bloggs's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes I know that many Thai people don’t live where they are registered for example my wife’s son lives and works in Chonburi but as registered in our old house in Buriram. On the other hand, the Older brother had to urgently move from the fathers house book to Bkk because of some dealings with his local amphur (no idea why) I only used my YHB for renewal of driving license, but if you have your YHB registered in province X and moved to province Y (and never bothered to move YHB) the DLT could maybe tell you to apply for your license in the province where the YHB is registered. That is guessing of course In my case, if theIO hadn’t said I need YHB I would NOT have moved the YHB. -

Address change? Little story We build our current house just over 2 years ago, and I got the YHB on the address of our old House (which is still owned by the Wife but it's mostly empty now). I never bothered moving the YHB to the new address, but beginning of the Year I went to immigration to ask are there any new requirements for getting a new year extension. The guy I spoke to said 2 things: 1) Bank Statement going back 3-6 months and 2) YHB with current address. That 2nd one was a total shock, but @blackcab (in a thread I opened about it) said to move addresses (if you have a YHB already) was real easy. And thus I changed address and thus got a new YHB (old one I still have, but has a stamp which says "Moved out") (Done and dusted in about 20-30min at the Local Amphur) Long story shorter, did my extension at IO and NO YHB needed ???? So I moved the YHB new house for nothing ???? My guess a new YHB would be necessary if for example we had sold the OLD house and the new owner would not like that I kept registered there. But this is total speculation on my part. Or if you move provinces. That is about it (someone will of course correct me when I am wrong about this) -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
MJCM replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
a real estimate yes. This month it's off by 100's of THB (if you use your kW usage from 22 ???? ) Edit: This one is a lot more accurate https://www.mea.or.th/en/aboutelectric/116/280/form/12 -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
MJCM replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Yep we also. Both for the 15/45 and 5/15 meter the 0.9343 Ft was added. That website Calculcator did not even take into consideration the discount for the Ft rate from last year and now also doesn't list the discount on the standing charge. -

It totally depends on the Amphur you are dealing with. For me I needed 3 witnesses (inclu Village Chief) and incl Tabien Baan and ID and they all had to fill in a form! Edit: Completely Forgot, you also had to be Married, a Friend (who wasn't married) got refused. -

The issue is not renewal of the YHB (I just recently moved addresses and it took 30 mins to get a new YHB (with the longest wait was for the Head Honcho to sign)) but the INITIAL Issue of the YHB (cq getting the ID Number (starting with 6) is where the problem lies. For me that took +/- 2 days wait at the Amphur 3 witnesses (incl Tabien Baan & ID card) 1 passport translated etc etc -

Maybe it's a glitch but if you go to the calculator now you will see the Ft Rate for Jan 2022 is 1.39 satang, BBbbbbbuuutttt for Jan 2023 it's 0.00 satang. So my guess (again could be a glitch) they removed it to not give a people a too big shock (If you click Dec 2022 then you will get the 0.9343 Ft Rate.) -
Of course, but we like Kerry. We send the stuff in the morning while we drove to the airport in BKK and following morning at 11am Kerry called and delivered it to our house in Buriram ????????

Being a Budget airline my guess is 1 (maybe 2) checked in bag only. If you are flying domestically just send it by Kerry that is what we did with our excess luggage.

Thais and Dogs that is a breed apart ???? Neighbour got a female dog after a car killed his old dog (lovely dog). I told my neighbour that I would pay to have it spayed, but he says he will give it (by injection I guess) birth control. Of course he forgot and yep pregnant a couple of months later. A couple months after the pregnancy I again said it "bring the dog to the vet on Saturday (I already made an appointment) to have it spayed". Of course he forgot and when I said to my wife to call them she said the normal Thai Phrase that is used on these occasions "Up To Them" So I don't bother any more ????

I agree, the only time I have needed my YHB was for getting around the residence cert from immigration to renew my driving license. however someone else will of course disagree and say it’s very handy, but as always. YMMV ps; already have the YHB for well over 6 years -
