  1. Being a Budget airline my guess is 1 (maybe 2) checked in bag only. If you are flying domestically just send it by Kerry that is what we did with our excess luggage.
  2. Thais and Dogs that is a breed apart ???? Neighbour got a female dog after a car killed his old dog (lovely dog). I told my neighbour that I would pay to have it spayed, but he says he will give it (by injection I guess) birth control. Of course he forgot and yep pregnant a couple of months later. A couple months after the pregnancy I again said it "bring the dog to the vet on Saturday (I already made an appointment) to have it spayed". Of course he forgot and when I said to my wife to call them she said the normal Thai Phrase that is used on these occasions "Up To Them" So I don't bother any more ????
  3. I agree, the only time I have needed my YHB was for getting around the residence cert from immigration to renew my driving license. however someone else will of course disagree and say it’s very handy, but as always. YMMV ps; already have the YHB for well over 6 years
  4. Every time I visit AN on my iPad via Safari get this popup for the news letter. Why show it every time?
  5. That makes total sense, and that is one of the reason why I want to renew my passport BEFORE my extension is due for renewal.
  6. AFAIK you only will get that LETTER (for Immigration) if you renew your Passport from WITHIN Thailand via the Embassy. If you renew your passport OUTSIDE Thailand (fly back to your Home Country) then you will not get that Letter (Ps: I am not a Brit)
  7. ooh ............. I just started a thread about this (renewing passport outside Thailand and the Letter) and there the answer was indeed NOT needed (only needed if you renew your passport via the Embassy) I think before I fly back "home" to renew my passport that I am going to ask Immigration if they want it or not (that letter)
  8. The only reason I wrote that is that you don't need an agent to do extensions if you are legit. The OP has tried to play the system and unfortunately for him LOST. I wonder if the extensions that people get through agents are properly recorded in the IO systems and if they will hold up under scrutiny.
  9. Same here, last week retirement extension done in 20+ mins. arrived at the bank (early) they open at 10:30, done there at around 11:10 (2 bank letters and new bank book). Had lunch did some shopping, was at IO at around 12:15 was told that they were eating lunch, got helped at 12:30 and was outside with new year extension, new 90 day report, new TM 30 well before 1pm. so bank letters took longer then IO.
  10. Of course up 2 you how you spend your money, but I am just curious. As you say, they do it all does it also mean you don't have to go to the Bank to get the Bank Letters and they do that for you and you just around at home waiting?
  11. ???? We always go together because it is also one of those days that we go shopping as well.
  12. 2 Letters 1- 3 or 6 month statement 2- The Usual Bank Letter
  13. May I ask what you do get for that 8000 THB? Do they also do the Bank Letters at the Bank or do you have to do that yourself? Edit: I am paying 2100 THB (1900 THB IO and 200 THB bank) and last extension took me from 10:00 (leaving home) to just before 13:00 (leaving IO) (including doing some shopping and eating lunch) (IO took 20-25 minutes only) I am just curious what paying 5900 THB extra will get me.
  14. I know we use the same IO (afaik). During my visit for renewal of my retirement extension (last week) the girls at the front desk took the id card of my wife, I asked if they wanted copies (as I came prepared) but no not needed. Everything was done electronically and they only asked her to write down her phone number. I was by the IO not asked if I had a YHB (which I have)
  15. Thx. Now a days you can just give them the Wife's ID card and no need for those copies any more (I had them with me, even had the YHB with me but not needed)
  16. Please explain the "Only used for Retirement Extensions." part of this. I just did my Retirement Extension and YHB was NOT needed
  17. Osmach is a Cambodia border crossing in Surin province near Kap Choeng. . So my guess is that the OP wants to do a border run to get a new entry on his Visa
  18. Home Country is in Europe, and I got an email back from the municipality were I want to renew my passport and they said I can renew my Passport at any time I like. Ps: Turn around there is 3 -7 working days Edit: Forgot, also my Driving License (home country) has expired so instead of renewing it from here (by sending it there) I can do that while I am there for my Passport
  19. don’t they all say that?
  20. Maybe it was as dirty as this one? ????
  21. Same problem for me and the OP Link here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1283848-yes-proof-of-funds-letter-from-bank/
  22. Maybe you should also mention that with some banks it takes as long as 7 working days to get that statement. 3 and 6 Months same day. A solution is to get a 6 month statements and then 6 months after that statement get another one (make sure the date over lapse) ????
  23. this is common practice at Banks and especially if you are NOT opening the account yourself but via an Agent there is NO way around it (AFAIK). The Bank Clerk gets a commission from the Bank for selling the insurance. But the good thing about it, that next year just go to the Bank and cancel it so IMHO it's a one time fee only.
  24. But he is right, unless you don't have the money in the Bank or some other reason why you do not qualify an Agent is IMHO waste of money. I did on my own (with the help of the forum for example @ubonjoe , @DrJack54 and others ) applied for and gotten - Extension Based on Marriage (lots of Paperwork) (5 of them) - Changed Reason from Marriage -> Retirement - Now on my 3rd Retirement extension and last time done and dusted in 20 Minutes (at IO) with a total costs of 1900 THB for IO and 200 THB for the Bank. I would never ever part with my Passport unless it's A- Immigration B- An Embassy or Consulate C- or the Passport stays in my sight. @ubonjoe already gave you the solution. Go to the Police and tell them, you will be in deep ..... if you wait any longer with both your Embassy and Immigration!
