We can get a so called business passport, has double the pages of a normal passport and same price. Mine is less then half full. I think I will do the renewal 6 months early (if possible) so I can do it in the Summer.

Thx Guys, really appreciated, it got me worried because of that Letter. Now the question remains (I already send an email to the Embassy) how long before my Passport expires I can get a new one (because I don't wanna fly back there when it's sooo b......dy cold (rather go in the Summer))

Thx @brewsterbudgen So the Letter is ONLY for renewal of your Passport within THAILAND at the Embassy! Aha good to know that.

My Passport is expiring (still have lots of time though) Now I intend to fly back to my Home Country and do the Passport renewal over there instead of at the Embassy in Bangkok. At the Embassy they will give you a piece of paper for Immigration to transfer the stamps (or what it is called), but in my Home Country they will not give me (they have NO clue I guess) that piece of paper. How (after coming back to Thailand with a Re-Entry Permit in my OLD passport) can I transfer the stamps to my NEW passport? Is this something like just going to Immigration or do I need to visit my Embassy for that Letter? Any other caveats I have to watch out for ???? TiA

I just did the renewal of my Retirement Extension with money in the Bank (Fixed Deposit account at BBL for years and years). Arrived at the Bank at 10:15 (they open at 10:30). Got the 6 month statement (cost 100 THB) Got the Bank Letter (Cost 100 THB) Got a new Bank Book for the Fixed Deposit account (old one was full) We walked out of the bank at 10:55.

You can get a 12 month statement easier then waiting for the Bank to send it you (and maybe arrives late ???? ) Example how to do it Extension goes from January -> January the following year - In June go to the Bank and get a 6 Month statement that will cover Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June - Then in January get a 6 Month statement that will cover, July, August,Sept,Oct,Nov,Dec. You have to time it so the 2 statement over lapse. So there you have 2x 6 Month statement and no need to wait for the Bank to send it to the branch.

The limit (6 months in a year or 180 days) has been long ago removed, bbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuttttttttttt If you enter many times on Visa Exempt expect a thorough questioning by the IO at the airport, and yes they can refuse you Entry if they believe that you are not a real tourist. Better is for your trip in March to get a Tourist Visa and not go Visa Exempt, but YMMV

Exactly. That is what my Wife did on the first trip to ZVK. (She had her passport with her (just in case). No problems and no issues. That is also what the Thais use when they go to the Cambodian Casino's on the border There is AFAIK only one issue what that "entry permit" (or whatever it's called) they are only allowed to stay in the province where it's issued. So if they enter at ZVK they can't go to Vientiane for example.

Funny. We just received the PEA Bill for our OLD house Dec - Jan, used 67 Units total price 326,21 THB Which is Units wise exactly the same as Nov - Dec Nov - Dec, used 67 Units total prirce 274,78 THB So the price increase is 50 THB, but I wonder how we managed to get exactly the same reading (67) Lottery Numbers anyone

You can get the same for your current number (what I did) at the Ais shop, but it then costs approx 300 THB more (so around 18xx THB total)

If you mean this Bank letter to use for immigration? Then NO, has to be same day (or maybe some IO allow a day early) I transfer money early morning into my account, then at 10:30 am at my Bank (opens at that time) get the Bank Letter and after that go to Immigration.

Where did I say that? It's easy to blame the bank but Due Diligence by persons themselves could (maybe) have prevented this. Every webpage of almost every bank has a text warning of Don't Click on any Links etc etc, but people still click it because he "you won xxx THB" in a SMS is just to tempting.
