If the authorities at some point crack down, they will likely crack down on visas, not a raid on persons sitting in a shared work space. But that will likely involve persons on visas for much longer term than the OP.
But if you are in a shared work space, I would keep another browser window open so you could quickly switch over and say that you are just writing a letter to your mother.
i never did understand the concept of these workspaces. just a silly waste of money really.
on the legality of it, i would not trust it here.
My understanding in Thailand is, you only have to be present (in the company of) of wrongdoers and you can be charged the same crime as them.
and then a possibilitu of a raid at any time. Thai police probably think they are raiding a boiler room operation.
and most farangs like to stay here xx years and cant be assed learning the language..
so good luck explaining to the cops on the way to prison.
as for the OP, if you do this in your own room then who will know?
strange such a silly question thread have 4 pages already

This used to annoy me in England many years ago - all be it when it was raining........mainly OAPs out shopping on the high street. It was like trying to move through a field of spikes!
thats one reason its lucky they do not have pensioners here
but if the umbrellas dont get you, those slippery tiles and poor quality flip flops will

actually i find umbrellas more dangerous in the heat of the sun.
i refer to certain people (or are they vain idiots) of height about 5"4
with extended umbrella that reaches your eye level.
so many times ive nearly had eyes taken out especially on stairs
they walk around with no care or awareness whatsoever about anyone approaching,
why? as if they are not already dum dum.
one of the very few things i still find very annoying after many years here

You were never asked inside her home.
i would say 100% she is married. if you ever met anyone who she introduce as her 'brother' than he is most probably the husband.
when you traced her on the BTS she is probably meeting another farang BF.
the lazy husband wouldnd mind as long as he gets free money.
id say she is grooming a clueless farang for a 'village wedding' to get dowry money and whatever else she can get.
seen it before, if the issue comes up about a legit marriage, then out will come the many excuses why she cant have marriage with the real paperwork

But one could enjoy her for five years at the age of 60. Isn't that beautiful? :) One should never marry. It is like handing over your privacy.
Hats off to you Sir.
but really, if 5 years and you never been stabbed or threatened with knife, she never steal off you, and your not completely broke..then you must marry very quick before someone else get her!!

i rather pay a massage girl, if she has been that good that i dont think i can get better, and want her next time too.
for waitresses, they are expendable, all of them can carry the bottle of beer to my table, and if they cant
carry the beer to my table, i wont be paying for the beer, obviously
The way i think, 40 baht is nothing for me and this waitress is probably on 300 baht a day,
so that tip is actually a 15% bonus on the very poor pay she get.
I agree with you on the massage issue also. I hear the massage worker is lucky to get between 100 or 200 baht for every 2 hours massage, and thats lucky if they not on 300 a day like the waitress.
with massage i am happy to tip them 100baht if its good.
thats not to stingy or over the top i think.
but one time a girl at the same place cut me short 15 minutes on a 2 hour massage. when i ask about her finished already she say
'kee-kiat' and 'hab no power'
which was the excuse i give her for my ZERO baht tip.

The girl will take care of you, entertain you, and make your life beautiful. Why not? Life is all about exploring new frontiers :)
Your idea can work, but must know and live with that girl AT LEAST 5 year.
this is the mistake of many, they marry after just 3-6 months in Thailand.
THEN, after the house is paid for, and you bought cars and bikes....
She make life not beautiful as you thought but SO miserable that you will wanna walk away with nothing to save your sanity.
Then next you see her family and/or "brother" move into the house you paid for while you is back in the dingey bedsit.
not just an urban myth, why you think theres so many bitter mysogonist old farang poster on this site?

these days a restaurant is about the only place i ever tip in Thailand.
because many are just disinterested and glued to their phone, is nice when you get a girl smile, even talk, joke and fill your beer up many times.
usually 40 baht or a 50 baht note if they really impress.
I dont leave the tip in the folder but make sure i bump into the girl on the way out and put it into her hand.

- Stay Chaing mai or Bangkok. Isaan drive you crazy with boredom, Phukhet expensive. Pattaya..NO. better left unsaid you can read about daily.
-Rent (dont buy) a condo in outskirts of a city. this you can get even under 10k/month.
some foreigner pay 30-40k month in some areas.crazy.
- Dont drive. expensive, stress and problems you dont need. especially motorbike deadly and 2 many idiots on roads.
- Be careful of Thai lady. if you take on fulltime they will skin you alive.
The younger one going with older farang will nearly always expect him to buy a house (in her name on land you cant own)
-Never NEVER get talked into buying, maintain, loaning for, or even agree to stay in any house in Isaan that sits next door to her family !
..and remember about house: if you buy, they soon say GOOD-buy!
Also keep a decent stash of money aside in case having to go home and start again.

i suspect these "X-ray fugitive foreigner" and "black eagle" so called crackdowns
give these IMMs a chance to weild their tiny man powers.
but if you have a look like a dark suntan or a "chocolate"...shade (is Thai saying, not mine)
you are best to get visa and have a better chance of no trouble.
trying for many VEs over 2/3 years, for sure you will get tagged sooner or later.
but really you cannot blame them for thinking these guys are vagabonds or upto no good.
what the cost of a SE visa? is not huge.
the IMMs probably ask themself, why these guys must keep trying for free visa?

thats interesting. hope the Thai goes well. I often do wonder how Thai peoples will stack up against competition in western world of food if they cannot use MSG and all their other tricks.
i want to look also for this show online, so thanks
unfortunately tho, on this site the most you will get back is thoughts of
"Asians are accepted in the west, but here we are just ATMs"

To be fair, I did it in the UK, but I hadn't realized the judge gives it to the woman on divorce (usually 100%) and you get removed from the house the moment she files.
And I'm doing it again in Thailand, but this time the bank owns most of the house (for the next 23 years).
Buying a woman a house seems to be normal in almost every country of the world, whether the guy realizes it or not.
so true.
but is nice to have some illusion of ownership for a small time and buy in your own name.
i guess a small chance of getting 50% back in the end is a bonus.
i like your version tho, sound a bit like 'pay as you go'

my English bad but i thought it was a clear message.
your words apparently you are "pulling the plug" because they post mundane stuff on social media.
i tell you simple: dont look at social media and youll be more happy.
but you must see the funny thing here, that you did post a mundane, poorly explained rant which encourage more people to post more mundane crap in response to yours

I thought it was a normal life.
im sure we agree, normal people dont normally buy a house on land they cant own and have no real control on.
(which all sooner or later will to get shafted out of.)
i think this OP, he probably feel bad and got shafted out of a house from a Thai wife ,
now he wanna laugh at guys who are silly enough to buy 2 houses.
fool me to get shafted 1 house-shame on you...
fool me to get shafted 2 house-shame on me for being a absolut xxxxxxx idiot.555

very confuse about this. you dont think people back home comment many mundane thing on social media?
easy solution for you : dont look at social media.
my solution : i dont look to much social media, so i now have more time to appreciate whats around me and the good lifestyle i can have.
anyways, at your age why get bent out of shape about what a younger generation think?
so these brats, they can go on e-begging, and thinking they have all the rights and world does owe them a favour.
doesnt impact me one bit

Most immigration offices will accept the funds being in a foreign currency at account at a Thai bank.
Ok thanks for the help.
Also if i may ask this..
For proof of funds a website of Thai consulate in Australia say they will accept baht in Thai bank OR the equivalent value in Aus dollar in an Australian account.
Im not sure if this stand for all visa type or just METV ?
If must show 800k in a bank account then i will rather have in Aus account earning 3%.
Leave there all year and forget about it.
But can do year after year?

Unless they crash ... then you have to wait a day (or 2) longer when they recover from the crash.
Have the rules of investing somehow change?
For absolutely everyone to make a profit (which is impossible anyway and is fake news) someone else has to take a loss
or someone else is buying at a premium much higher than the original cost, no?
These things is nothing but a big ponzi scam.
Remember the pyramid scams?
The big guys behind all this will have a system set up and alert them when the conditions is good for them.
They will flood the market at the right time and they will run away laughing while everyone will loose millions
Crypto=next Leeman type scam
