  6. Did you read the Sam Rainsy article? If you look at the history of Thailand and Cambodia, they both have lost land over the centuries as have Malaysia, Loas, Burma Vietnam.
  7. you are guessing as like most of us on here we do not know why people do things like this. Sam Rainsy, Cambodia’s finance minister from 1993 to 1994 gave an interesting view on why this is happening, suggesting criminal networks, not patriotism is behinf this war
  8. When it is over it is over, so many other people have made comments like that before on other wars, "over in a week" Trump and Putin to name two. Sadly we are dealing with fools who have only their own interests at heart and the people suffer. Yet I hope I am wrong and you are right, over in a week.
  9. There are several countries that can claim there beef is better than the USA. My choice in no particilar order. 1) Botswana, 2) New Zealand 3) Japan 4) UK
  10. "urging her followers on X to "set fire" to hotels housing asylum seekers"?? is that not inciting acts of vilonce? Cannot have one law for one and another law for everyone else. Am sure you will disagree which is okay as we all have our own opinions.
  11. inciting violent disorder, yes, the penalty was harsh, yet I do think all crimes should get a tougher sentence as that is the only way people learn, plus in certain crimes if not from England originally then deported back to your original country regardless of if you fear for your life back from where you come from. Love the law in Australia, "if a non-citizen is sentenced to 12 months or more imprisonment, or if they are convicted of certain serious crimes like those of a sexual nature involving a minor, their visa can be mandatorily cancelled, leading to deportation. Additionally, even for crimes not carrying a mandatory cancellation, the Minister for Immigration has the discretion to cancel a visa based on character grounds, which could also result in deportation".
  12. Also cigarette smugglers, all these retired pensioners going for a holiday then coming back with a suitcase full of cigarettes, they get told off and free to go. The law should be tougher on all crime regardless as that is the only way people learn.
  13. Started watching The Gold, A group of Armed robbers successfully rob £26 million worth of gold from Brinks Mat in 1983 and the amazing thing is, the robbers did not expect the gold was there, just by acident they found it after not being able to get into the vault. Excellent series.
  14. Thailand is betting on everything, in the medical tourism race there are many competing, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. Vietnam is one to watch as it is gaining in popularity and as a country they are focused on their goals and well organised.

  16. wife has registered, yet not many choices for hotels, ended up booking a hotel for Krabi via Agoda.
  17. everyday is the same, crazy drivers and moterbike riders. I was in the UK for 4 weeks in June, driving everyday was amazing, drivers followed the speed limit (lots of speed cameras) stayed on their side of the road, generally courteous. It was so enjoyable, now am back in Thailand cursing all the bad drivers.
  18. Not hogwash, I know someone who had a policy, had to have medical treatment for a stent, was told they would not pay out and when he challenge them, was told get your lawyers to contact. They never paid out. This is a brief discription, with the computer laws in Thailand cannot go into details.
