  1. depends where you live, outside of the big citys no problem with queues and I have two PTT and three Bangchak stations all with in 3klm and on my way home. Plus points on the card and free bottle of water.
  2. A stick the dogs will see and keep their distance, do not turn your back to them as that is when they will attack. Do know that if you hit a dog with a stick and someone reports you then the law is in favour of the dog and you can get a very serious fine or jail.
  3. agree, these "kids" need to go to jail, as it appears from the parents statements they are self-entitled p***ks I am from NZ and I am ashamed with what they did and all over a 500 - 1,000 baht fine! Stupid.
  4. 😄 Not upset, you are being argumentive and not offering any constructive points apart from trying to be abusive.
  5. Wrong. Agree that a foreigner cannot own land. Yet a foreigner can buy land by paying for it, the ownership of the land is different, I bought the land, and it was placed in my wife’s name. I bought the house and when exchanging the legal papers it was placed in the child’s name. Agree that a foreigner cannot own land. Need to define the whole sentence in the conversation not just a single word. Now Skip along cassidy to your next argumentive post.
  6. WTF is wrong with you. Why make comments like this? " Lousy worded OP" seems there are several people who have read my question and have given their valid opinions which have been helpful, so it seems they understood what I wrote. From your other comments on here to other people in this thread, it shows you lack conversation skills and manners. If you are unable to offer sensible comments to the conversation, then pass on by to the next news item.
  7. To be honest I hate rubber trees, yet my wife has just been given 11 rai of newly planted rubber trees. I started to study up on how best to look after the trees and what fertiliser they will need to ensure the best growth. Then discovered the wife had no interest in the trees so gave up on that for now, wait and see what happens. Interesting about the prices of land, agree that is the long term investment as there is no more land being made. We are buying a reprocessed house from the bank, is cheap an in a good area with neighbours we know, will update it with paint and a new bathroom then it will be rented out, long term investment for the child, I will not personally get a return on this. Thank you for your input
  8. Thank you, I would like to think most men would do this, especialy in Thailand where you would want to insure your child has a decent income in the future, so they are not living on 10 to 15 thousand baht a month.
  9. yes that is a worry, have thought about that.
  10. Thank you for the excellent info, good to know about the local regulations. Yes this is for the long term for my child, I will be long burid by the time it comes to cutting them down. LOL
  11. thats very interesting, still not sort a way to release the water without flooding the people out?
  12. As you do not know the facts behind the question, I think your comment has no merit.
  13. Best to check with the local municipality (known as Amphur) where you got married to see if the divorce was registered, you can then request a copy of the divorce paper (I think it is red or green coloured) you will need this to prove that you are divorced when re marrying in Thailand. You are leaving things a bit late to do all this. I would not contact the ex, why make trouble? Maybe pay a lawyer to sort the papers? Ask Siam legal.
  14. Has anyone planted land with trees as an investment? If so what part of Isaan and what type of trees are being planted. Am thinking of buying land so local price in your area would be god to know. Thank you in advance
  15. Out of interest what is the cost of land in your area, plus where are you? We are in the south, Chumphon and land is easily one million up and if next to the sea 5 million up. Even in Ranong the land is one million up.
  16. 800 baht an hour is in the south of Ranong, am sure price is differant in Isan where land price is also so cheap compared to the south. Agree about the tractor/digger
  17. Over thinking everything. You also assume to much, people do "understanding the circumstances under which they could change", we do not show it is all. I do not think all Thais see this as a rallying point, a small portion are vocal and they are the ones the news focus on to gain more readers or followers. "As a political tool, laying a groundwork of mutual dislike and distrust" really? Was it not the actions of the Swiss man and his Thai wife who kicked this all off? (pun intended). As for the other swiss man in Trang and the Australian in BKK, are they setting a good example of expats? What about the farang who work illegal here, do they set a good example? I do not agree the goverment has undermined expats with its new tax laws, is life so difficult here? If you find it so then maybe time to move on?
  18. Apart from the first video, the Australian man, who should learn to control his temper/road rage (I do wonder if it was not a women but a man, would he act this way?). All others are illegal acts so should be arrested. Just because they are expats gives no excuse. As for being worried, I behave myself and follow the law as do most expats in Thailand, so nothing to worry about.
  19. Good price for 700 meters, if using a tractor the cost is 800 baht an hour in the south, so the cost soon adds up.
  20. yes I know he refused bail, safer on the inside? He still has to go to court to be prosecuted, I think he will get Bankok Hilton time then deported.
  21. Have you not seen the photos of what he did to the Thai lady? The Swiss man should be jailed in Thailand where I am sure he will soon regret his actions, once time is done then deport him. To say "even the Swiss do not deserve this" is imo you justifying his actions.
