Four Danish tourists and van driver injured in incident near airport
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
There must be a special driving test for public transport drivers....one that specifically turns them into utter idiots! A narrow road and this idiot overtakes when another vehicle is approaching.... -
Another totally worthless rant again...or as usual. They refuse to change! In fact, some units here are having to abolish some faculties due to no students....they're finding new students all want easy work after their studies. Mom and Dad don't care!

Under Construction Condo’s Fire Escape Collapses, 3 Houses Damaged
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"A luxury condo block with external fire escape"....never heard of external fire escapes in modern structures..that went away decades ago......Some of the worst quality construction practices in modern cities....China is probably worse..and they have complete buildings collapse. -
I've been in Thailand almost 20 years and been visiting 10 years prior to moving. Child exploitation in the "non existent" prostitution businesses, has always been in the headlines.... Impossible yet again, that Thai cops are not involved..impossible that they don't "know" anything......and even more ridiculous/childish, is their annual walk through Pattaya and finding no evidence of hookers!

Immigration police promotions dogged by rumours of nepotism
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Of course, top cop at immigration at Phuket would likely be one of, if not the biggest, money making scam sites in Thailand. In Thailand, it's impossible to escape the grip the RTP have over every profitable enterprise....legal or otherwise, the cops are always at the front! -
Tourist rubles ensure warm welcome for Russians in Thailand
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
“Russian people love Thailand, the people, the climate, the nature and the delicious food".....they missed, the ease of corruption and simple ways to avoid police issues! -
Thai prime minister: Army anti-drug efforts on Myanmar border
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just PR speak....Just the words "military collaboration" no doubt has several meanings..none of which anyone in authority wants to do anything about. The Myanmar and Thailand military work alongside each other. The sheer volume of drugs entering Thailand has to indicate a level of collusion....it's hard to believe otherwise. What exactly does the RTP do...apart from a few roadside shoot outs and chases.... -

ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Once an investigation involving many cases...any number above 100 and it slows down....40000 will take forever. -

Thai Government Plans to Establish Clean Drinking Tap Water
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Where we live in BKK in the Bang Khen area, the water is very good...we've had it tested and the results were surprising. We still filter through a 5 filter system though, and never had an issue. -
When the cables are all tangled up on poles instead of underground, the temptation for easy money is too tempting for thieves, and will likely get worse as costs increase beyond peoples' capacity to afford living costs.

BMA to Implement Truck Weighing Tech After Road Collapse
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The load is saturated mud from pile excavations. This material weighs approx. 2.5 ton per cubic meter....this truck bin is roughly 16M3....so it's well over weight. Mentioned a couple of days ago it was 27t...I'de estimate close to 40t in the bin -

Manhole lorry accident: BMA orders review of 371 construction sites
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This took while to make the news again....so I'm guessing the important people who run trucks are now removing the stickers.... Just a look at the state countries roads, lets everyone know that many trucks are ridiculously over loaded, hugging the outside lane because the other lanes have all tracked up....but the asphalt suppliers and contractors love it!
