I run a Wednesday morning golf group, mainly high handicappers. We play social golf for fun at different courses around Bangkok, usually start at 8am with 2 or 3 groups and always at courses where we feel we get good value.

Ford for sure, spare parts if you have an accident are cheaper than most others, and my 1st one went 400,000 kms without any repairs other than normal maintenance. Resale value is a bit less than some others but new buying price is a bit less also. Ford has the new models out and they have that larger pick up with 5 cly. Open cab's are good if you do not just have to have 4 doors and they are lots cheaper to pay license reg on.

Gosh just get a Visa of some type, there are several ways depending on age and other details but it might be easier than getting a Visa based on being a father.

Gents..........I lived in Thailand for many years but about 6 years ago took a job in the middle east so left Thailand. I come back to Thailand 4 or 5 times each year for short periods and like to play golf on courses near BKK. Problem is I have lost touch with most of the people I used to play with or they have left Thailand. Anyway I am a high handicap golfer,love to play golf but not super serious about it, and would like to make contact with other gents looking for golf partners.

Better not to use any facility with this dual price scheme.

This should make lots of short term work for truck drivers hauling factory equipment to port for shipment to to another country with cheaper labour. I agree the workers deserve B300 a day but facts are factories will move for cheaper labour. A sad fact of life.

No offense, but I seriously doubt there is anyone here who is so financially kaput that they would let their wife do a menial job for 6-8 hours a day with only a couple of days off a month for 6-8000 baht a month. If so I fail to see the logic in losing what time you have left together just for a few extra baht in the pot when we should all see a sub 10k a month salary as a mere blip on the total family income. I for one certainly wouldn't subject my wife to such hardship for practically zero reward.

I give my wife 50,000 a month, out of which she has some obligations such as weekday food etc for the family, but the rest she can keep. As long as my dinner is on the table and I have a steady supply of toothpaste, deodorant and toilet paper she can do what she wants with the rest. I love her and she's worth it. I personally can't fathom why anyone who can afford to live in Thailand on retirement, or working etc cant afford to keep their spouse out of a backbreaking menial low paid job unless they had either seriously mismanaged their own finances or were just incredibly selfish.

Well, lucky you. I would wager that most farangs working here outside of expat corporate jobs do not have 50,000 baht a month to give anybody as pocket money. Indeed, many of them don't even earn that much.

Agree with you 100%, Also many retired guys could never do that. I am still in the ShOcKeD stage over B50K per month pocket money
