  1. One thing to notice is that they are not on the Runway but in the parking areas

    Aircraft status changed to boat

Future transit with these aircraft will change their announcement before Float off:

Ladies and Gentlemen, can please put on your life vest, stow you paddles in the up right position and make sure all kids do not drink the Klong Water while in transit. Our In Float entertainment will consist of"smells of the Klong". We will be serving an in float snack of flys. Thank you for floating with us todaylaugh.gif

  2. They will do well in Thailand I think as their stuff suits small rooms and they have great selection. As said before they have different quality items from cheap & nasty to pretty good. I have bought quite a bit of things over the years from IKEA in the middle east and I have never found any screws to be missing and they have first rate instructions on assembly that is mostly in pictures without words.

  3. What about a hotline in Thailand from respective embassies for 'abused farang'?

Ha ha Thats what I was thinking...........Yes Consul, I would like to have your advice on my wife throwing me out of the house I built and paid for, also she cleaned out the joint bank account of 1 million baht plus I now know that her Thai brother who lived with us was really her husband.........What is your advice????? ha ha halaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

  4. I helped a friend build a small 85 sq meter house 6 years ago near Buri Ram and it cost less than B1000 per meter for labour. It was Thai 3 star style. I bought all materials my self and watched them like a hawk. All up 6 years ago we did 85 sq meters including labour for about B700,000. I built 70 square meters near Korat about 1 year ago. Again 3 star Thai style and this time it was turn key and cost 750,000 bhat including labour and all materials. Both houses have good tile, Thai granite kitchen counters and bathroom counters. That does not include air conds or stove tops. Both houses have good quality wood windows and are both quite nice houses but not fancy by any means. In my mind the smaller you build a house the better as:

(1)Less problems with family moving in

(2)Cheaper to use the air cond & cheaper to build

(3)Maybe have some money left to buy a small condo outside of Bkk for a break from up country as it gets a bit boring if you are up country all the time

Hi,, can't help you much with the materials yet, but we've been quoted prices of 3500 Baht per sq mtr for labour only,, and have 3 quotes of between 10,000 and 12,000 Baht per sq mtr for an all in price, using top grade materials (whatever their top grade may be),, this is based on 205 sq mtr single floor 3 Bed 2 Bath, Euro Kitchen build with garage, the 3500 baht labour was from a decent Thai builder, and the all in price of 12,000 was from a BKK architect and his band of merry men,,,, we are out in the sticks, but not as far north as you guys, only a couple hours north of BKK and flood free.

  6. I think he means Backhoe, thats what Thais call an excavator. Some have extra long booms to dig deeper but they can dig deeper by making a step half way down in the pit if required and they work off that step for the deep part.

Hi there, round here they dig the hole for free and sell the soil, but haven't seen a digger that could go that deep. Jim

  7. God Forbid that it flood Soi Cowboy or Sukhumvit Soi 33 where the dead painters bars arerolleyes.gif

    Is this all a ruse?

Who is guarding the banks and the gold shops?

I have it on good authority that Nemo is guarding the banks, and Charlie the Tuna has been assigned the gold shops.

    Thanks for the laugh...

grammaire corrections - good humority, (river) banks, and gold (fish) shops

  8. QANTAS sure has had a lot of incidents in the last couple of years that sound like near misses to the untrained observer (myself and most people). Is the industry competition driving the executives to cut corners on safety & maintenance or is this just a series of coincidences? I know we have some pilots around here who probably have a thought or two.

Their incidents get reported more widely than other airlines is the real reason. The media hate them, but the fact is they haven't had a fatal accident for 60 years or so.

Gosh do not let CNN get onto this "news" as they will blow it all up to gain viewerslaugh.gif

  9. Well as most say move. Maybe even just move across town if you are in Bkk as in move from say Sukhumvit to Nontaburi but you have to change friends and bars....ha ha. Best to move from say Bkk to Hua Hin and yea get another Ebay account because she will be tracing your online sales I would guess.

She must be in love eh I mean she must be broke.jap.gif

  10. Not sure now but many years ago Fords were about Baht 30,000 cheaper than the others and in my opinion as good or better with parts being cheaper than most. As far as resale well pay B30,000 less when new and take B30,000 less when you sell but a guy needs to keep a vehicle 5 years or more. I am still riding my 8 year old Ford with 230,000 kms. My first Ford only run 400,000 kms with no problems before I traded for a new one. rolleyes.gif

Good job....that new Ford looks pretty impressive and the Chevy close behind...if the Mitsubishi changed the weird body style, they would be close too...hope the image will change in Thai community,so the market will be more competitive.I guess, the only problem for the Ford and the Chevy is the resale value...
