    Perhaps a lesson or two of 'customer service' or some training needed. What with security being in the habit of kicking customers in the head, and serving staff throwing glasses at them.

    I hesitate to suggest mine as he too has the reliability issues, never know what day he will turn up and the odd week gets skipped..... he has now dropped to approx. once every two weeks. I bought an extra bottle off him so that I don't run out.

    This is perhaps the danger of putting all your eggs into one basket. Are the Russians not interested in a luxury dining cruise? I doubt my fellow Brits are, not while Cheap Charlies is offering such good service!

    I just do not feel comfortable to be in the vulnerable position of having no cash on me, so don't. Yes, now I have to carry 2 things religiously, a wallet and a phone! That said, I have gone out drinking leaving those items in the safe... just a reasonable amount of cash in a secure pocket... and never get into the situation the guy in the OP did!

    If you recall there used to be some electrical station boxes on Beach Rd that got used for nefarious services....so maybe not!

    I get the impression the poor guy maybe has dementia issues. Seems sad... not everyone has credit cards or ATM cards... a domineering wife could be behind this too.

    Yes, a sufficient deposit and passport details should have been taken. The first property I rented I was always fixing things and even put insulation over the false ceiling at my cost. Still couldn't get my deposit back but that was because the owners had problems. These bad tenants make it more difficult for others , and do little for the reputation of my Nation. I have seen worse though.......

    Usually they come and take the meter away. Outstanding balance must be paid and a reconnection fee. If that was the case there would not really be unpaid bills....did the property owners perhaps cover it?
