    Yes, I know what you mean. Crossing second or 3rd Rd gives an impression of being targeted rather than accommodated when crossing. ,

    Well this is a news report I would not call trivial, nor persuade me the City is relatively crime free. A small bag of cannabis and a gun, lock him up for life!

    You did well, I looked on Google Maps and got a view from June 2024....how you got 2025 so early in the year is surprising. That one showed work at the soi 7 going North from there. Which is what I experienced last time I was there. Have to go to immigration soon so have more fun to come. Looks like they are taking their merry time and the job will be ongoing for some time, albeit maybe moving.

    Must admit, I have had several over the years who behaved similarly. And a few others who couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. Another who asked us to get out (pay too) in the middle of nowhere after getting himself lost.

    I was 9-10km out of central Pattaya and was most certainly inconvenienced. They allowed me a beer at 5.40pm, but I had to pay for it immediately , and no further sales.

    I always think back to the gruesome accident where a Russian on a big bike, basically sliced himself in half by hitting a road sign on Jomtien Second Rd. The bikers here will dissent but I feel larger bikes should not be rented out to tourists on an IDP. They have little need of big CC. Just accommodate those wanting to tour.....

    News report I saw suggested he knew very well they were fake..... and he had admitted to it. Also that he got them in Israel.

    And again, inactive or little policing. Too busy extorting foreigners on Beach Rd who do no harm.

    There is no shortage of rues here, just lazy policing and enforcement. Who will stop delivery trucks double parking on Bua Khao?

    I have not been able to find numbers, but it is not solely kidnapping for ransom we talk of here, but many being taken to work in scam call centres just over the Thai/ Myanmar border where tens of thousands are believed to be held.

    Well the ones being pulled over here in front of the station are mainly tourists, driving presumably on home licence with IDP. Outside of that location, I see little policing effort. Most there, away from town, probably only carry compulsory insurance, if any, not that much liability for the insurance companies there.

    Saw a news report saying they were substantially down....hard not to say 'good'.....it still seems overly crowded in town.

    Sounds like he did, he was charged with that crime.

    The stray pack now includes a few puppies where I live, so even adopting a few will not decrease their numbers.....In fact someone has put speed bumps in recently, and I would not be surprised if it was to make it safer for the dogs!
