Russian Woman Falls to Death at Pattaya Condo, Russian Man Detained as Person of Interest
No, it happens. One about 3 +months back. Perhaps the numbers are low because they spend all night drinking, eating and playing music on the beach.

Australian Tourist Causes Havoc at Pattaya Temple, Cannabis Blamed by Some Thai Media
It's pretty bad what he did.....so that might well happen.

Disregarding the 90 day bank checking.
Au contraire..... When those requirements came in, it was dressed up to look like a move to stop people bypassing the prior requirements....ie the 800k 2 minute deposits! In reality, it pushed more people into using the agent's facilitations, and immigration welcomed it all with open arms. Quite the business move I thought at the time.

Disregarding the 90 day bank checking.
I recall being in an agents office waiting my turn, and an Oz couple there were asking about the process, and for the Conversion to Non-Imm-O Permission, and a 1 year retirement extension (he did not have the 800k sitting pretty) and was quoted at 45,000 baht for one. Perhaps a Re-entry was thrown in, but I recall suppressing a coughing fit.

Not sure why you are arguing...... she probably believed it was gold and likely represented it as gold, and that would be attempted fraud.

7 People Injured, One Dead in Early Morning Pattaya Traffic Accident
I saw some goon riding wildly on a big bike in Central Pattaya Sunday, midday-1pm. Figured an accident waiting to happen.... kind of wonder if he was still at it 15 hours later. I know The Railway Line Rd quite well, and Nong Khet Yai would be near the North end of it. It is dual carriageway on either side of the tracks, but you see a lot of traffic heading the wrong way. There are quite a few crossings which are unmarked, and right of way is guesswork. It is also a bad uneven surface where the drains got buried.. that would push a bike at speed around.

Renewing Retirement Visa ( Pattaya immigration)
You only really need to show one if you need a Cert of Residence, and I had not needed one of those for some years....nor needed a re-entry permit, and 90 days reports I do online. I used to hold my breath doing my extension myself ( TM30 not asked for)...but last year, even that I used an agent.... not asked for of course. I got a deal (agent) sorting my TM30 and getting a COR for 2000 baht....

Disregarding the 90 day bank checking.
There was actually no police order requiring Expats came back after 3 months to show they had kept their money. Jomtien and one or two offices came up with the need to fit in with the fact they should. Often wondered if someone came in and had spent the money after a few days, would they cancel the extension there and then and possibly put them into overstay! Rumour is your bankbook needs to show a full year to see if you complied with the 800/400/800 kbaht for the 3/7/2 months of the prior year... It's a complex concept!

Minivan vs Pattaya bus
Take the Reung Ruen bus from North Rd to Ekamai (or get off before ) then get on the Skytrain. An alternative is go to Moechit but is Ekamai more frequent, The minibus drivers are reckless and the journey cramped and uncomfortable.

Renewing Retirement Visa ( Pattaya immigration)
An issue with early application for retirement extension is it would be difficult to show the 2 month seasoned 800k . If an agent does it, it appears anything is possible. I just used one to do my TM30, my first one ever, after 18 years here.

Renewing Retirement Visa ( Pattaya immigration)
Yes a month before is 'standard' maximum. ......although if you have some reason to do it sooner, and can show proof, like a flight ticket, I heard 45 days can be done. Don't go getting a re-entry permit based on old Extension, and then doing a new Extension.

Opinion Editorial: No, It Isn’t Time to Worry About RETIREMENT VISA Changes….Yet
Did you have to leave the country and start again, or was this simply achieved by an agent? I did hear rumour it could be done...

Political uncertainty forces tourism industry to cut arrival estimates by 2 million
It should not be a big deal with the new improved Pattaya immigration building, How about getting a tourist visa before travel? I have herd the online process is a bit onerous.

It isn't so easy really. They would have to do some things bad for the economy ... like make a mess of producing a government after elections. Mr Soros watches looking for opportunities!

Indian Tourist Fights with Group of Pattaya Transgender People
Cheeky..... I recall many years back a regular in the GGBs nicknamed 'The Candyman'... he had his pockets filled with sweets and candy, and would hand them out to girls, who then felt obliged to stay with him. So he got the company and a bit of slap and tickle going on. He never bought any of them a 200 baht drink (todays prices ) and eventually they would drift off and he would move on... plenty of selection of GGBs back then so I figure he had a good cheap night out,
