  1. Why dangerous? Often they use a yellow or white plastic pipe/conduit which is of a thinner material than the water pipes. The absence of elbows, tees, reducers, unions, couplings. junction boxes etc and glue seems to be the issue... the wires coming out and being joined in the open like that, where water can get to it is terrible work. Of course there being no grounding/earth or fault protection allows a pole to become live. In this instance the problem happened near a metal fence and power pole..... There was an example on 2nd Rd one time that was simply a puddle of water, .One need not look far to see plenty examples like this around town.
  2. So what have we been doing with all those drain burying projects over the last 10-12 years, just taking a stab at it?
  3. I think a cable car system from Pattaya out to Koh Larn would be a wonderful attraction! Likely the speedboat mafia, along with the songtaew mafia, will kill this idea whichever destination.
  4. Sounds like he already knows how to be a testosterone fueled bully.
  5. Yes, I have brought a few back to do the ironing. I think the location is near Father Ray's place and I can not think of any nearby hostess venues....
  6. It is well known alcohol is a great sterilizer, moderate use reduces heart disease and stroke risk... but why bring a straw man to the discussion? If you cannot do better than shine a light elsewhere you are losing the debate.
  7. Well I got the UK News on right now and the topic is people being freezing cold in their homes...... unable to afford the heating bills.... I know in a few hours here the sun will be high and it will be a bit on the warm side.
  8. Soi 13 runs from 2nd to Beach Rd, AA Hotel at Beach end....Lek Hotel at the other, facing Avenue McD. Not much on the Rd, The Sportsman of course, and some closed hotels. There are a lot more Visa shops on 13/2, (Soi Post Office) a couple of streets to the South.
  9. They are actually only allegedly cracking down on them.
  10. The only easy car parks I can think of in Pattaya are Big-CX or the Tesco one on North Rd, probably easy because they are not Multi-storey. (Don't usually go to the South side). Access to those isn't great! I suggest a 50 baht congestion charge like London has!
  11. This comment always pops up..... Perhaps she simply was not wanting to provide sexual services, at all. It is a risky game.
  12. The 'close the stable door' team they should be known as!
  13. We were in classrooms colder than that and forced to drink little bottles of milk that sometimes had ice on them! Got her mother here avoiding the rural cold now!
  14. Just maybe a little later?
  15. And they have been allocated as consecutive sentences rather than concurrent then? A life sentence sounds heavy handed.
  16. Just keep the windows closed pal! I had a friend who used this stuff in his old van and yes, it smelled like a mobile chip-shop!
  17. Yes I think I did that myself too at the old place with the sliding old style windows and screens. There was a limit screw you had to adjust which would then allow the screens and windows to be lifted up and pulled out.... from the inside if bars are present. Better if 2 people do the windows as they are heavy.
  18. It is (the US$) still about 6% up on where it was at the start of the year....it is just the USD falling back to where it was before their hard line on inflation. I suspect the baht will strengthen further though.
  19. They could ask him if he plans to welcome more Russians into Pattaya and Phuket personally, or whether he is prepared to commandeer any of the 400 leased aircraft Russia is refusing to return if any happen to land laden with tourists in any of the Thai airports!
  20. I suspect they want to maintain whatever profit margins they already have... maybe even increase them. The inevitable is a price increase.....
