  1. I am not fully sure that your statement 'usually started by Thais' is that accurate.... as a resident I think it is often the other way round. It is obviously an issue in tourist areas mostly as in more rural areas I find Thais agreeable. Perhaps Thai security over -react to being assaulted now and again.. but so often the drunken tourists bring it upon themselves.
  2. Oh dear... they just have to do these sort of things!
  3. Usually a bank loan for a car would obligate theft insurance to cover the loan.
  4. The only way to stop him playing more of that awful racket!
  5. We deported many of them, but it was in the genes and we kept breeding more!
  6. Yeah, they are okay.
  7. No shortage of fried chicken shops!
  8. Yes, I live well North of town and the trip is a bit onerous.... being told to come back tomorrow is the proverbial red rag and I use agents more and more.
  9. Well a bit too clever for ChatGPT?
  10. Perhaps the Police should demand some parental action from the mother letting this brat roam around at 2am!
  11. And the very large GGBs look even emptier and always struggled in recent times..... usually they have an upstairs area that is never opened.
  12. Err, I suspect alcohol is to blame! Perhaps 4am closures will increase the number of incidents a little.... But in reality they were just pals getting into a drunken scrap, let it play out, they will be best of pals with bruises in an hour... that's how it plays out with the Scottish!
  13. Yes, I noticed them when I was there... the cutest girls!
  14. I didn't think even motorcycles were/
  15. Always a lot of traffic in the area......
  16. Well the discussion was about the car park......does that make you wait until 11am like the main part of the Mall does? I have a recollection of waiting there once... these days I park in Big-CX, opens early.
  17. Deep sea fishing trip?
  18. An agent helped me, I did not attend a docs office nor immigration, nor do any online test myself. Yes had to meet them at the DVLC place on Hwy 36, to sign for the making of an appointment, then attend on the day where I did a reaction test, color blindness test... and sit down for the picture. I think that was all. A trip to immigration in Jomtien is a long trip for me.
  19. The article? More the situation behind it. Well, as described.
  20. Or lying face down on a massage bed hoping to doze off!
  21. There has been a relatively recent change in Thailand in that mail order items under a certain value, do not get a VAT waiver when mailed from overseas. (Not sure why that might impact UK VAT.) Been looking on Lazada of late for some good razors, not seen that product...some better razors are rather pricey in Big-C.
  22. There is a U-Turn near me that is pretty busy and I am often in a queue there to get onto the road. Many a time I see cars in front hang back, when I see an opportunity to move, then they will proceed just about when they likely scare the guys coming towards us. They seem to have delayed reactions like Corporal Jones in Dad's Army. (Apologies, ancient UK reference!).
  23. Having CCTV surveillance in a Sports stadium, now there is a novel idea, someone just reinvented the wheel.
  24. I am familiar with these vans, they often seem to be all I can see in my rear view mirror!
