    The way I heard it the Burmese were stealing from him and as such any demand for salary might be shaky. None of it justifies murder.

    Likely I am mixing up the two... I am actually more familiar with the Evaporated milk as it was what we got over our tinned fruit after Sunday dinner, the roast! The condensed was rather thick and sickly sweet wasn't it? Liked the Condensed stuff in coffee too!

    Well TBH neither have I, its a shxthole. Don't see any sense whatsoever to deliberately hang about in places like that.......is the Arabic food sensational or something?

    This reticence to name places is getting tiresome. I like to know as it sounds like somewhere worth avoiding......Nongprue, Banglamung, well I have heard that used for places in central Pattaya (which it isn't) and well out on the darkside near the lake. Where is Hwy 3009?

    I might be interested s to why they prohibit M/Cs under there, seeing as how they are te most common mode of transport here.....when 60% of the ligts were out and it was dark down there I could certainly see reason. As to OP, lack of policing and the fact most Thais are scofflaws is why!

    I recall not receiving mail for some time and getting the Mrs to go to the Post Office and ask why, next day got several letters delivered. Heaven knows where they had put them. Really frustrates me that 'proof of life' and such important items are still sent via snail mail!

    Sure, one has to back off as we get older. Tolerance is way down and forget about the all day sessions! Be glad your survived it!

    Am I getting the timings wrong or did the woman manage to leave the country several hours before she was actually tied to the bed?

    They are opening the floodgates in Thailand with Visa exempt, 8 weeks stays (that can be extended) for nearly all........in the absence of criminal record checks we will get all types coming to test the local police. We know they are not up to the job!

    I always liked to think they would automatically go to the ground floor and open the doors under a power fail situation.....but then again there is the scenario of there being fire.

    Well the lesson is if you want to be discrete and keep your business to yourself, do not dress as a monk! They are under scrutiny wherever they go, whatever they do.

    Last I saw was that the Burmese staff member had been accused of stealing money from the business.

    Bangkok is not doing any better having just been on the International news for 6 dead in a hotel room.

    Sometimes bargains on used could be had, if one found a repo or perhaps a farang selling up before leaving. Many years ago I used to attend an auction at Big-C South of bikes... the Thais picked up the best deals. I bought new, as it didn't seem much more to pay than for a near new one.. but did buy the GF a second hand that she still uses 15 years later.
