  1. It's alright for a change and a short break... but I could not imagine living there long term.
  2. Good point, then they wouldn't have the time or energy to be out at 3am trying to steal gold necklaces off Indians.
  3. Anyone refusing others the right to discuss their opinion is showing theirs!
  4. Tourists won't be taxed unless you expect the 300 baht landing charge to be resurrected.
  5. I know Oz is a big place but that is quite a diversion, hardly surprising fuel was a concern. Could Canberra ever be used?
  6. No blankets needed here, in fact nor is a quilt or eiderdown or anything much at all. I found that a top sheet and 'throw' /cover both comfortable and sufficient. I do have a set including a quilt cover but as a top-sheet it simply isn't large enough.
  7. I was thinking to recommend Fraser's Sports Bar, but hear it is fully booked. You might check out Le Pub, or Lewinskis.
  8. No no no, reactive, not proactive is the Thai way!
  9. It might explain the dearth of them out on the streets doing their job.
  10. Yes, I have done that too...Marks and Spencers best all the way from the UK. Was having problems finding top sheets here, they were all quilt covers.
  11. That's a good place... I hear it has lost it's glitter these days?
  12. I suspect there was some deal made, likely this was not part of it. The whole story just sounds unlikely. He got out of the country, from the police station, and made it back to his home country while a suspect..... Pattaya police are involved, enough said!
  13. Actually warmest day on record ever in some places in Scotland yesterday, warmer than most summer days. I would wait for the Thai hot season if I were you. This year it is expected to be a doozy.....place is going to become a desert!.
  14. Wasn't there a large bag of money mentioned. What was that for, to wedge a door open for the guy to escape?
  15. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I recall seeing this now, but I think I left it off as I use Lazada a good bit and delivery involves calls from many different numbers.
  16. Exactly, makes the effort just plain silly. Pity really, a great pair of bare legs and a tight short skirt is an appealing look, often spoiled by shorts that are a bit obvious.
  17. That was my thought too..... how they found 34% of Thais that will refuse free money just isn't believable!
  18. They don't need a Visa currently, I presume they are free to leave China as they wish? I heard it is dire economic worries that they underplay holding them back.
  19. You said something about an Iphone, but then mentioned having a Samsung phone, which would be android... so this is some android feature (or perhaps something Samsung add, or you installed)? I use a Samsung too but it is getting old now.....
  20. Yes, that is what I believe. But that has been the requirement for a little while now, so may be due a change.
  21. I have done that a couple of times.... not really helped. The anonymity is the issue..... although mods get to see who posted them.
