Trump’s crackdown on UN Rights expert sparks free speech alarm
Has nobody studied the rise of Hitler? This is how it starts. Nobody knows what's really legal or illegal so they say nothing. The culture of fear claims protests. The surveillance state knows everything about you so there's no place to hide, IF Americans really want to prevent the descent into fascism, now's the time. I'll wager that isn't going to happen. Everybody will be sitting in front of the tube with a can of Blatz. When The Purge comes, what makes you think it won't come for you???

Villagers Win Court Battle Against Gold Mine
What paltry compensation for lifelong illnesses. Kingsgate Australia is the company that should be sued out of business. Perhaps a group of these villagers can go to Australia to press a suit. Really, it's the Thau govt that should be pressing charges and assessing damages for the owners. One more instance where Thai govt won'r stand up for poor villagers...because they are poor.

Voyeuristic nightlife
I agree. BUT Western men have always been pretty rude to women, grab-ass, comments on their rack aso. However, both parties just want to get laid. Women won't <deleted> a reserved guy and cry victim if the guy comes on too hard. Can't win! This starts in high school. The same high schools that have daycare centres...

Do you have Amazon Alexa, Google Nest, Apple Siri? Any 'smart home' devices? How about a TV or a recent car? All of them watch you, to one degree or another. There are an estimated 940,000 to just under 1 million surveillance cameras in London. Big Brother is watching you. Surveillance is the new censorship.

Voyeuristic nightlife
Do you live in Pattaya? Hehe I bdon't know if anybody is really 'dignified' at a beach. I'm not much of a beach person. When I go, I try for a nude beach, where no one is dignified! It's all on display and nobody looks, There are a lot of guys and girls on the beach looking hot or trying to. So if an old guy wants to wear a pouch or a saggy mum or grandmum wants to wear a string and go toplesss, and another wears a burquini...well, we don't have to look. Come to think of it, that's the problem with morals police. They're trying to fix other people's morals, e.g., screwing in a tuk-tuk, Shadow Beach aso. Why?!? BTW, that is a VERY sexy gingham bikini~

DAMN THOSE FRENCH!
By the author and inline sources. Bras have been adapted and influenced by fashion, culture, and sexual tastes of the times. Athletic Olympian women wore bandeau-like strips of cloth worn by athletic women in ancient Greece. Pompeii: The Bikini Mosaic The history of the brassiere rather new. The French in the early 1500s invented the corset to given women an hourglass waste. Sometimes they could barely breathe. Most were shaped by whale-bone strips, causing the tops of the breasts to spill out alluringly. The corset cursed women for four centuries. For men, it was devilishly difficult to take off in a hurry. In 1889, French designer Herminie Cadolle separated the corset into two pieces, covering the breasts while still cinching the waist. The word ‘brassiere’ was coined by Vogue Magazine in 1907 and in 1911 was added to the Complete Oxford English Dictionary. The women’s corset reform movement included Amelia Bloomer—you read that right. In 1914, New York socialite Mary Phelps Jacob invented and patented two silk handkerchiefs joined by a pink ribbon. They showed the nipples and sold for a dollar. Smaller-chested and slender-figured flappers took over the fashion scene during the Roaring Twenties. And instead of corsets, they opted for tight bandeau tops that flattened their breasts and gave them a younger teenage silhouette. During WWI, the ‘Saf-T-Bra” was sold to protect women on factory floors where the bombs mimicked later bras. Saf-T-Bras looked like two yellow hard hats. Lockheed informed their workers that bras must be worn because of "good taste, anatomical support, and morale." In 1947, Frederick Mellinger (Frederick’s of Hollywood) invented both padded and push-up bras. Frederick also patented crotchless panties, some of them edible. By the 1950s, bras started to look like Nike missile launchers, also popular at the time, the ‘bullet bra’ favored by Hollywood glamour stars and, well, pretty much every housewife in America. Playboy Magazine featured women for 70 years with breasts so big they had to get a leg up. The first issue in 1950 featured a tasteful nude Marilyn Monroe (Happy Birthday, Mr. President) in her birthday suit. She was asked in the press if she had anything on, “I had the radio on.” AI: Protesting against the Miss America pageant In 1968, New York Radical Women threw their brassieres into a burning barrel on the Atlantic City boardwalk. In fact, the 1960s and 70s were a glorious time of freeing the nipple. Many women of all ages continue braless to this day. Free the Nipple in 2012 was a topfreedom campaign for women to have the right to go topless same as men. It became the title of a 2014 document. Free Pussy Riot demonstration The Russian female punk band Pussy Riot also used nudity as freedom messaging. They served prison time for dissidence. While women seem to be able to release the hooks and eyes of brassieres, potential Casanova have mostly fumbled the balls. Then came the Canadian Wonderbra in 1964. It only became popular in the 1990s. Fitness became more popular for women and the ‘Jogbra’ made the scene. Throughout history, women have used various garments to support, cover, restrain, reveal, enhance, or modify the appearance of their breasts. Certainly breasts are the most attractive milk bottles ever. However, women are forced to breastfeed covered up. Various public establishments require women to breastfeed in the rest room. How would you like to eat in a stinky toilet? In fact, medical science has come to think that restricting the area around the torso prevents lymph flow predictive of breast cancer. See Dressed to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras by Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer, first published in 1995. It’s completely accurate to say a bouncing bosom isn’t very comfortable. But the success of brassieres is sex appeal. For women who feel inadequate. Nipples are not illegal! No garment draws men’s attention to the breasts. For men, all breasts are beautiful.

Zionist Qur’an
[Opinion: This is one of the most important pieces I have read about Jews and Muslims. Neither side is practicing their religion. It was very hard to abridge so I hope readers will access the complete article and visit the Hashlamah Project for reconciliation.] Zionist Qur’an: Allah Chose the Children of Israel Over All Nations The Times of Israel: 24 April 24, 2025 The Qur’an acknowledges the historical connection of the Children of Israel to the Land of Israel — Eretz Yisrael. It does not, however, explicitly state that this Land or any land, belongs exclusively to any specific group or nation. The Qur’an emphasizes that the earth belongs to Allah, who is the ultimate owner and sovereign over all lands. It encourages believers to respect the rights and dignity of all people, regardless of their background, and to strive for justice, peace, and harmony in society. At the same time, the Qur’an makes it clear that the Land of Israel is assigned to the Jewish People. Perhaps more surprisingly, the Qur’an mentions that Allah chose the Children of Israel for specific blessings and responsibilities, such as sending prophets and revealing scriptures to the Jewish people more so than any other nation. Being selected as the chosen people, however, does not imply superiority over others. Instead, it emphasizes the importance of upholding piety, spreading goodness, and following Allah’s guidance. The Qur’an acknowledges the diverse nature of humanity and stresses that individuals from all nations can attain closeness to Allah through faith and good deeds. But the Qur’an singles out the Bani Israel, the Children of Israel, as having been “chosen above all nations” (2:47). We read this notion of being “chosen above all nations” – fadhaltukum ala al-Alamin (فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ) — again in the same Surah, ayah 122: “O Children of Israel! Remember My favors upon you and how I honored you above the others. The Qur’an could not possibly be more clear: the Children of Israel were chosen as the “favorites” of Allah — based upon excelling the other nations. While the Torah says this was preference over the other nations of the Land — that is to say, of the region – the Qur’an goes much further. We read in the Qur’an that Allah not only chose Israel above other nations and even over all worlds throughout the Universe – the Quran’s words, not mine – but also pardoned the Jewish People from that which other nations were destroyed for. Compounding the absurdity, essentially no one who denounces “Zionism” seems capable of giving and even remotely accurate definition of the word – lending credence to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s (1929 – 1968) claim — verified by his closest friends — that the term “Zionist” is merely an antisemitic dog-whistle for “Jew.” Accordingly, for the believer in the Qur’an who truly reads it and accepts its words in “Clear” or Mubin Arabic, cursing “Israel” is a literal curse upon oneself. Israel is a Holy name in the Bible and Qur’an alike. Cursing someone for being of or from the City of Jerusalem, the Land of Israel or the Land of Judea is no better. The reality is most people saying “we hate Zionists not Jews” don’t even know what the word Zionist means, nor could they correctly define the political meaning of “Zionism” as a historical movement. The very fact that they believe there is a single homogenous group, movement, ideology or the like called Zionism highlights just how little they understand about any of this. Even from the earliest days there were an array of very — extremely — different types of Zionism. To say that one opposes all of them means that one opposes the most peacenik, pro-Palestinian Israeli leftist, or the entire Ethiopian Jewish community, or any number of other ardent Zionists. Consequence is no coincidence. Words have meaning. Words matter. A person who is careless in their speech is doomed. If you wish to create change through acts of spiritual intention and “prayer” then you must be mindful of your words and intention in the first place. If you are not, don’t be surprised when the answer to your prayers is: “No.” ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. Micah Ben David Naziri is a scholar, author, and community activist whose work bridges Jewish and Muslim traditions through the Hashlamah Project Foundation, which he founded to foster grass-roots reconciliation between Jews and Palestinian Muslims. Voyeuristic nightlife
[Opinion. Though I consider myself a strong proponent of women’s rights and equality. women dress to be appealing to men, esp while clubbing. These women are not naked or obscene. These are not covert upskirt or toilet videos. They’re of women out to get a little drunk and have a good time. Would you rather the men who watch these videos ‘grabbed them by the pussy’? Certainly, in Thailand this genre has taken off in ‘nightlife’ areas. Difference is, one doesn’t have to beg to take her home. The fact is, we’re all being filmed 24/7, no matter what we’re wearing. Those surveillance cameras are doing that for us and to us. There’s probably some hot footage in there. If these videos are some invasion of privacy and trauma inducing, these women are hypersensitive. “Terrifying”?!? Good Goddess! Look at the photos—if they turn you on, you’re one sick puppy. If you want men to stop looking at women, from babies and toddlers to geriatrics, you’ll be very busy putting eyes out!] Letters Those who view voyeuristic nightlife videos are the issue Hannah Clark responds to an article on the growing phenomenon of women being covertly filmed while out at night The Guardian: 23 Mar 2026 I was grateful for Emily Retter’s focus on the feelings and experiences of the women affected by voyeuristic nightlife content (‘They were comparing me to Bonnie Blue’: the disturbing rise of nightlife content, 18 March). Being “watched” in public is perhaps a uniquely female experience. Sadly many women can relate to being leered at from car windows or catcalled from scaffolding, with video content being the latest, depressing escalation of this kind of behaviour. What is new, however, is the scale of the audience for the content documenting such behaviour. I am struck by the lack of repercussions for the (presumably exclusively male) viewers and commenters of these videos. Criminalising the creation and distribution of such content, while admirable, fails to address the wider cultural issue of the audience appetite for these dehumanising videos. After all, there would be nothing to demonetise if these videos did not generate thousands of views and hundreds of (no doubt disgusting) comments. It seems to me that the core of the issue is less the opportunistic video-maker (while vile) nor the ambivalent big tech companies that platform the content, but the day-to-day consumers of the videos who live among us. Counter-Terror Police Probe Arson Attack on Jewish Ambulances in London
I agree completely but argue for transparency as to where the funds are going and to be used for what. Unfortunately, the bulk of donations for any charity, e.g., Red Cross, Cancer Society, go to administrative expences. What's left over goes to the cause. I'm glad to read those stats, too. Though the idea that only Jews outside Israel can afford to criticise is rather chilling, don't you think.
