  1. sorry, didn't catch that. did you say 2022? ????
  2. how does a first-timer show proof of income if their Embassy doesn't provide the letter?
  3. what if you don't have a spare B400k?
  4. re the B40k per month income option you are correct, the British Embassy no longer provides certification. I'm sorry but I can't remember what you have to do for your first marriage extension if you want to use this method. I'm sure @ubonjoewill help you out when he starts his shift tomorrow morning.
  5. what office is this? maybe it's one of those rogue places we keep reading about that make up their own rules. ps. from reading this forum the consensus is that Retirement extensions are easier then Marriage but more expensive. Marriage is cheaper but requires a lot more paperwork and allegedly some offices don't like to do them because of the extra work.
  6. ubonjoe gave you the correct answer. he's the AN visa 'guru' so for can trust what he told you. it's 400k in the bank (permanently) OR 40k per month income. plus all the paperwork like map to house blah blah blah.
  7. I wonder if that's because some customers keep them waiting forever in the lobby? I've seen that happen a few times in my condo here in Bangkok. I guess keeping an eye on the app to check the order status is beneath some peoples' dignity.
  8. you keep mentioning that you've opened back accounts on a tourist visa but you don't say where and you won't provide details of the individual branches when requested. neither of which is particularly helpful.
  9. how does a tourist find one of those? is there a place where all these helpful trusted individuals meet up to hand out free reference letters to total strangers? ????
  10. from the attached article... "“Her father’s first words when he saw the girl were allegedly “Have you done your homework?” The girl then pulled out her homework and started working solemnly." what the hell? ????
  11. Thais are uncivilised don't you know, aseannow told me so. They need to be taught The Rules and who better to do that than Wise Uncle Farang?
  12. this. and they'll kick you out of a pub as soon as look at you because of RSA laws. Responsible Service of A**holes ???? plus everything is so expensive it's beyond a joke. add in the general me first attitude of Aussies/Westerners and it all adds up to a very 'mai sanuk' experience. you want to drink in the Sydney CBD or the Cross? good 'ken luck boys, better take out a second mortgage. and that's just for the bog-standard rubbish like Carlton Draught, New, VB and that 'Reeshes' swill. craft beer? better rob a bank first. you want to take a taxi from CBD to the Cross. if you can find one then it'll probably be twenty bucks. then another hundred to get home to you gang-infested ghetto out in the burbs. I'm looking at you Bankstown! so yeah, give me Thailand with all its 'flaws' over that wasteland any old day of the week.
  13. "you cannot be serious!" - John McEnroe. a wife-beater is a sleeveless, armless undershirt, also known as a singlet or vest. traditionally plain white but now comes in all colours and with (usually) beer logos. example attached. alternatively, it can refer to Stella Artois, a Belgian pilsner. apparently drinking too much of it can put one on the mood to um... you get the drift.
  14. it's still way overvalued. I won't be visiting the UK again until it's 40 pounds to the dollar. if I want a taste of old Blighty I can just catch the bus to Pattaya. the pork sausage might not be up to snuff but the weather's a lot nicer ????
  15. you really are a bit simple aren't you?
  16. do you have some names for us? I've just been using wire transfer to BBL because it's not that much worse than Wise.
  17. I think LaosLover fancies you mate ????
  18. yeah that's weird isn't it? but maybe this particular exchange booth does special favours for certain clients. an "under the counter" OTC trade LOL.
  19. that's what I was expecting but by the time I got there in mid-1997 it was already quite developed. but still a great little place, especially at Lamai Beach after a tropical storm. we were able to body surf there for about a week afterwards ????
  20. you don't look "Chao Samui" LOL.
  21. I went back to Samui in 2014 after a long absence and was very disappointed to see how built up it was on the way from Nathorn (sp?) to Chaweng. at Chaweng we took a walk on the beach only to find that somebody had built a concrete monstrosity almost down to the waterline. and then put deck chairs in the sand in front of that. one of those stupid "beach clubs" that the vacuous types seem to enjoy. it was either wade in the shallows to get past or cut through the silly place. they were pumping out annoying doof doof music at 10 am. this was inevitable I guess but I won't be going back in a hurry. I'm glad I got to see it in the late '90s when Soi Green Mango was a muddy, potholed mess ????
  22. no worries. I find it most useful for paying my rent. so much easier than having to re-enter the re-verify the landlord's account details. dunno what I'd do without Google Lens either. the translation function is awesome and there's no chance of me ever learning to read Thai.
  23. thanks for the tip, BBL app lets me go up to 2 mil. not enough to buy a Lambo but still very generous. all sorts of other settings too, dunno why I never bothered to look before now ????
  24. even if you wanted to, will the app let you transfer that much money? New cars cost a couple mil don't they?
