  1. 2 pax is 649 baht, not 798. Which is apparently a lot of money for some of the young people so maybe the OP should just walk instead, like that English couple who have been spamming this site with their attempt at a travel blog ????
  2. Ha ha I thought it was by Adam Judd as well because I didn't bother to click on the link but if you do you'll see it's written by some chap named Tom Sinclair from Pembrokeshire (whatever that is ????)
  3. Oops I got it wrong, despite it saying "by Adam Judd" the article was written by this chap: "Tom Sinclair https://pembrokeshire-herald.com/ Tom is the editor of https://pembrokeshire-herald.com/ and a frequent guest writer for us as he often visits Thailand and enjoys the culture and history." Sorry, I didn't click on the link to the Pattaya News article like I normally would, the tone of the first few paragraphs put me off and now I know why ????
  4. It's in the photo the OP attached, on the roof of the "tuk tuk". https://www.tuktukhop.com/ I didn't delve into the full details viz routes and value-for-money because it doesn't interest me. As I said above, EV tuk tuks are an abomination ????
  5. you don't need to speak Thai, the website is in English ????
  6. The price for that hop on hop off service is fixed and looks quite reasonable. Only downside seems to be that the tuk tuk isn't actually a tuk tuk because it's an EV and therefore doesn't make the proper sound.
  7. Sure, why not? But you'd want a proper ICE tuk tuk with a big fat noisy exhaust, flashing lights and a bangin' sound system. Not that sedate looking EV thing in the picture. And yes l, I am being serious.
  8. Here's the tribute page for Ubon Joe: https://aseannow.com/topic/1294073-rip-ubon-joe-asean-now-visa-expert/
  9. That's an updated version of the slogan with "it begins with the people" tracked on to the end. The marketing brochure that can be found at the link below should put the matter to rest... The Amazing Thailand 1998-99 campaign - Travel Impact Newswire https://www.travel-impact-newswire.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/TheGreatestStory-1998.pdf
  10. The post above yours dates it as early as 1998. Think you might have misread that Google result.
  11. You sound as impotent as the Aussie dude who I responded to. For all your bluster there's nothing your can do about the syndication agreement that the big Cheese has with the other news outlets. Man up and buy the website if you really feel that strongly about it.
  12. The article is by Adam Judd from the Pattaya News, not "TVF" (whatever that is).
  13. Thanks but I could find no trace of the first file and the hyperlink is just the trailer. However I did find a Blu-ray rip on an obscure torrent site using duckduckgo instead of Google. It only has 1 seed but it's dl'ing now at about 900 kB/s. I doubt it will be a good movie but I just want to see the dude get shot by the jailbait ????
  14. Yes i was just thinking that myself. IF i'm forced into tax exile then it won't be something i'll leave until the last minute due to potential flight delays etc. Hopefully it won't come to that but maybe i do it anyway, i'm getting a bit bored of Thailand so maybe six months plus in another part of the region might get me out of my rut ;-)
  15. Those type of calculators will give you the wrong answer as they don't include the start date as 1 day. You either need to subtract one day from the final result, or subtract 1 from the number of days you wish to add. Me, I use Excel and the formula is always =StartDt + NoOfDays - 1. Simple example: add one day to 1-Jan-2024 and that website will return 2-Jan-2024. But that is two complete days, not one.
  16. Yes I've seen that but I don't trust it because it's not in Thai. Not that I can read Thai, hence why I raised the matter albeit in a roundabout way.
  17. Sorry man but that's 181 complete days. I'm erring on the side of caution and assuming the max. stay is 179 days therefore exit on 27 June 2024 if necessary.
  18. And you wonder why they don't want to sit next to you on the bus!
  19. I'm not smart enough to understand all of that tax code stuff, all I want to know is whether it is 179 days or 180 days before we become tax resident. "What a difference a day makes" ????
  20. That's 182 complete days so over the threshold regardless of the differing interpretations I referred to in my earlier post.
