  1. The feelings of the ordinary people matter little when the dictators a.k.a. the imams are in charge, which is what the whole ideology is based on. Thankfully that has only happened in a small number of countries so far and Thailand ain't one of them which is why I moved here. And yes I know about the "Old Testament", had to read that war-mongering, chosen people, enslave or kill the unbelievers nonsense when I was a kid. It should have been put to rest 2000 years ago but as you said, old Mo decided to resurrect it and add his own little twist to it. Obviously Christianity wasn't a viable option because of all that crybaby turn the other cheek stuff that Jesus allegedly advocated. Pretty hard to convince people to revolt against the the corrupt ruler du jour of they're busy getting their cheeks slapped.
  2. Well obviously. And if you'd been reading the posts about online TM47 reporting hiccups you'd already know the answer to your question.
  3. I don't think you understand how dictatorships work. Of course the ordinary person doesn't want war and violence but they'll fall into line pretty quickly once the dictator gives the marching orders. Why do you think the West is so keen to keep stirring up trouble in the Middle East? Once Islam reaches "critical mass" then it's game over for the normal folk. Just look at Iran where they're killing young women for not observing the "peaceful" imposition of wearing a black bag over their head in the hot sun.
  4. Isaan is not Israel. Pretty sad state of affairs if the rich you-know-who's can't pay a proper wage for what turns out to be a very hazardous job. As for being "antisemitic", no I'm not anti I just don't believe the propoganda anymore. Both sides in this conflict are hard-headed, full of themselves, unlikeable people and neither side has the moral high ground.
  5. From what the article says they weren't getting paid very much. 50K bath per month for driving trucks around Israel seems like a really rotten deal given all the money that lot have.
  6. As opposed to 7am each night? ????
  7. He's spot on. You're just wasting everyone's time now. If you really want to know the price why don't you input the origin and destination into Bolt and see what their app says in order to establish some kind of a baseline? Please don't use your normal excuse of being computer illiterate, that ship has sailed.
  8. No, Islam was created specifically for nefarious ends namely a worldwide caliphate. It doesn't need to be "hijacked" because it is a template for war and the subjugation or death of the kufr. It must be resisted at all costs, If you believe otherwise you are surely deluded.
  9. Nobody's nuking anybody. Get your hand off it.
  10. Maybe you should spend less time "hearing" things and check here regularly for first-hand accounts. Then you wouldn't need to be spoon-fed by BMs who've done the hard yards.
  11. but you're depriving the OP of the attention he so desperately seeks! ????
  12. I don't know about this, thanks for the history lesson (no sarcasm intended). I'll read up on it for my edification.
  13. You forgot to tag the OP when resurrecting this two year old thread. Sparky is now @Baby Bird. No wait, he's @Bignok.
  14. No, that's not the topic. The topic is where does the OP go from here? I could give a bunch of suggestions but the title of the OP suggests that he has done little or no research himself in the last 10 months or however long he's stayed here on tourist stamps. Lots of post-covid posts on the subject here on AN. He also pooh-poohed "Dr" Jack's suggestion of a nice visit to Viet Nam based on some random internet reviews instead of his own eyes. Ergo, not inclined to assist.
  15. Cheating on your wife is not acceptable either.
  16. You know I think he somehow managed to change his username from Bob to Bogs and then back again. Another BM did the same, Possum1931 became NoshowJones. I haven't got around to finding out how one goes about doing this, I'm curious but ultimately it's not really that important too me.
  17. No, because his country likely has clearly defined and rules on how much time one can spend there each year as a tourist. Thailand doesn't, nor do they define what is meant by "tourism purposes". Anyway this subject has been done to death, no point raking over old coals, although it is somewhat useful to find out who the faux moralists are.
  18. ah so the truth is finally revealed eh Bogs. you don't care about Thailand, just yourself. was wondering why you suddenly went from hating the place to its defender. unless you're bipolar?
  19. you were prepared for this and bought a fully refundable ticket, right?
  20. Providing a counterpoint to the drivel you post is an AN community service, not a complaint.
  21. Just as insightful as your one line reviews of all the one-horse towns you've visited and the 30 baht noodles that are haute cuisine that you desperately seek out. Ralph Wiggum could do a better job.
  22. Ruffians more like it ????
  23. From what I can gather, most of the dudes in here who use or recommend agents only know of reputable ones, not dodgy ones. So we can only tell you the price for the good agents, should we deign to. Not really inclined to do so as it's been discussed in here ad nauseam. There was a thread the other day from a BM in Hua Hin who got mixed up with a dodgy agent that messed him around. Perhaps you can find that post and ask the OP how much that dodgy agent cost.
  24. No, you only do a TM47 if you've been in the Kingdom continuously for 90 days. If you leave for an overseas trip then the 90 clock resets. When you come back to Thailand then the clock starts again on the day you return. They don't give you a report date at the airport, you have to work it out yourself. An online date calculator can help with this, just add 89 days to the date of your return to Thailand.
