  1. I just got approved by TrueMoney after registering a couple of hours ago, how good is that? I used photos of my non-O visa and subsequent extensions to satisfy their KYC requirements. Thanks to the OP for bringing this subject up and to @sqwakvfr for mentioning that they asked for non-O; last time I tried they only had 3 options - TDL, yellow book or Pink ID - and I don't have any of those because I'm a n00b 😅
  2. Straya's not on the e-visa system yet mate 😉
  3. It keeps them off the streets so it can't be a bad thing 😉
  4. When you Register there is, or should be a "Foreigner" tab which will prompt you to scan your passport when you tap on it. TrueMoney is the app/ecosystem. The Wallet is where you add funds from a Thai bank account or link your cards.
  5. When they start showing me respect by not price gouging because I'm a dirty foreigner then I'll return the favour. Until then...
  6. I used them in December 2021 to get a "15 month Retirement visa" 😉 Didn't know about all the various card options at BBL when opening my first TH back account so was disappointed later to find out that they'd given me a UnionPay card. Even more disappointed almost a year later when I got a text from BBL saying that we will deduct ฿589 from your account next month for card renewal. Lolwut? 😂 Had to go all the way back from Bangkok to Beach Rd to get a real MasterCard debit card. I don't know if UnionPay card is still the default at that branch but worth keeping in mind for anyone that plans to go this route. MC>UP imho.
  7. I was hoping to get away with not searching for the thread, still hungover from last night LOL. Here it is ... https://aseannow.com/topic/1309621-ranks-and-badges-after-maintenance/#comment-18443777
  8. Head over to the Forum Support Desk, that issue has been covered by George.
  9. Because they've never encountered the issue so they think you're making it up or trolling.
  10. Never heard of it so looked it up; seems to be a Quensland thing. In Sydney they were "longnecks" or simply "bottles" although the latter wasn't widely used by the time I started drinking.
  11. As a favour or just to make it easier on themselves? I briefly did that sort of work in the early '90s and the less you had to do to complete each of the hundreds of tasks in the work queue the better. Especially on a Friday arvo! 😅
  12. Ask the NTT... NATIONAL NEWS BUREAU OF THAILAND (NNT), GOVERNMENT PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT 90-91 New Phetchaburi Rd., Bang Kapi, Huai Khwang, Bangkok 10310, Thailand Tel : 02-248-8600 Fax : 02-369-2579 WEB MASTER : [email protected]
  13. He wants to let us know that he's more Thai than we are. He's personal friends with Lamyai don't you know (whoever that is 😅)
  14. I guess you have read all the banking-related posts from the past year or so. There's been a major shift following the China visas scandal and opening a bank account in Bangkok is much not difficult than it was a year ago let alone 20 years ago. Directive from BoT supposedly. Siam Legal stopped offering their services for tourists and according to some posts, even in Pattaya an agent will only do it if you have a certain amount of time left on your VE or TR.
  15. Not as farcical as where you're from now that they've let the barbarians through the gates and gave them the keys to the Kingdom. Thailand is Paradise compared to that (allegedly) once-great Nation so enjoy it in the time you have left.
  16. Yes I'm aware of all that. I was responding to Liquorice's post about his friend who was allegedly rejected at check-in Stateside for an EK flight because his onward ticket was ex-DMK not ex-BKK.
  17. OP is taking about Pattaya. Until recently all you had to do was hand over passport and wait a few minutes.
  18. 100 baht for smart-arses like me who already use them for visa/extensions. I don't know what their service fee is for TM47 only or even if they're willing/able to provide such a service. Hard to know with these agents, their bread and butter seems to be the headline stuff like visa$ and exten$ion$. Eg. they want ฿6k to do an extension to a visa exempt which is out of step with the ฿12.5k for a non-O extension. Not sure if that's a "go away" price or if they're just passing on the cost of the contribution to the Immigration Policeman's Ball.
  19. For some people going to the office is no hassle at all because they either live close by or it's on their way to meet up with friends or whatever. Or like me, I could use it as an impetus to get out of Bangkok and spend a few hours down at the beach. At Jomtien it was simple; hand over passport, wait a few minutes, and hey presto reporting complete and receipt with new reporting date printed for you and stapled in your passport (even though that's "illegal" LOL).
  20. I did my first and only in-person 90-day report at "CBI" Jomtien at the start of September and all you had to do then was hand over your passport, take a number, and sit and wait amongst the great unwashed for a bit. They even had free water, albeit unchilled, in their cute little CBI branded plastic bottles. So yeah, having to go from "easy as" to the new rigmarole is understandably frustrating for the Pattaya types. Obviously I'll be using the agent that handled my visa/extension from now on.
