    Thanks for the tip. I only ever saw them before in Thai-oriented places so what you say makes sense. I fell in love with a Heineken girl in Chumpon many moons ago but didn't have a chance to talk with her before we skipped town. The quiet pub suddenly got busy once the band showed up and she was rushed off her feet. Then next day it was closed ????

    No way is ฿35k with your own money a good deal. A friend of a friend lives in Phuket and he told me he pays ฿8k for handholding. Didn't ask about the details because Phuket is off my radar for the moment.

    Steady on mate, the Chinese lady doesn't deserve that kind of punishment for being silly enough to spend a hundred k baht on a handbag. Donation to a charity and some community service at the orphanage should suffice.

    Typo. Should be "how" not "for". As in, Transam won't tell us how he opened a Bangkok Bank account for his mate who was on visa exempt. He won't tell us where either but I think he lives way up in Ubon so that narrows it down a bit. As for the 2nd part of my post, that's a gambling term that refers to impossible odds. Surely you've come across it in your travels?

    So far so good for me here in Bangkok too but I do feel for those chaps that have issues. I've seen posts from dudes who have been told that online TM30 when returning from a trip is unacceptable and it must be done in-person AND with the landlord's signature. Whoever cooked that up has some serious issues!

    Not if you live in a province with a rogue Immigration Office. Quite a few posts in other threads in the last few months complaining of having TM47 rejected because they stayed in a hotel for a night or two.
