  1. my understanding is that short-term rentals are 'legal' if the dwelling has four rooms or less, eg. a house or a villa. in that case the property owner can apply for an exemption under the Hotels Act. this somewhat convoluted article attempts to explain it. other articles I've read say much the same and they all seem to waffle on like this one. bullet points would be simpler. https://www.thethailandlife.com/airbnb-thailand
  2. Medicare bulk bilking was introduced by Hawkey in 1984 so all Aussies should know about it. Or are you referring to the shoddy medical centres that the OP was (rightly) complaining about?
  3. I'm talking about agents mate, that's the 'game' I'm referring to. For a lot of over-50s dudes it's the only way to stay here so they do in fact need to game the system.
  4. Lots of over 50s game the system. Some need to and others make a choice. Leaving 800k festering in a Thai bank at a low interest rate for 20 or 30 years is anathema to some people.
  5. I made one quick post in reply to a chap who mentioned that lack of passport could be an issue with lost ATM card. Perhaps he doesn't know about Cardless Cash yet, or like me totally ignored it until I found out how awesome it is. I'm providing him and other readers with useful, practical information that wasn't too wordy and certainly hasn't derailed the thread like you're suggesting. If my post is so objectionable then report it to the mods ????
  6. I really don't understand your wilful ignorance. kthxbye.
  7. Me. But unlike the moaners and the sad-facers I actually bothered to get off my a*se and learn something today ????
  8. Thanks for the extra detail that wasn't included in previous posts. Or I missed it LOL. I guess BBL are at war with the PEA. OP should get the BBL app anyway, you gotta keep up with the times.
  9. the OP just wants to pay his electricity bill. apparently the PEA bills have a QR code (dunno, I'm MEA) so easiest thing for him to do is get the BBL app. It's not complicated at all, login to the app, press Scan and hold it over the QR code and hey presto! Banking with BBL and not use the Bualuang app is cutting your nose off to spite your face.
  10. what a carry on! why bother when you can just install and use the Bualuang mBanking app if you're a BBL customer?
  11. Easy tiger, I a just letting the guy know about Cardless Cash. Some people are unaware of it's existence let alone it's usefulness. A la a buddy of mine who had his BBL card swallowed by a Krungsri ATM and was all at sea until I showed him got to use the new option.
  12. Losing an ATM card is no biggie these days now that they've got Cardless Cash.
  13. Ah gotcha, you were being snarky. I overlook little stuff like that when I'm focusing on actually trying to help the OP. OP 's probably too worried about his liver to have picked up on it either. But hey, 10/10 for your pettiness.
  14. met a guy a few months ago that got the cancer from that. nasty business.
  15. Actually it does, you're just "having a moment" in the old comprehension department.
  16. "Which bikes and riders irritate you?" Foreigners on bikes in Pattaya, specifically the ones that are either on their hols or have been there too long and think they're Thai. This is most noticeable when walking along the Dirty Cow. Yes, I'm foolish enough to do such a thing. YOLO.
  17. @georgegeorgiathis is just my personal opinion but I reckon you should lay off ALL vitamin supplements for a bit until you work out what's causing your liver pain. I'm also a fan of the intermittent fasting that your naturopath recommended. Not necessarily as a long term habit but more of an initial kickstart to the liver regeneration process. I find that if I force myself to fast then the hunger pangs eventually go away and afterwards I feel lighter and more refreshed. I also find that it shrinks my stomach and I feel fuller then previously with I try to eat my pre-fast food portions.
  18. Makes perfect sense to me. I guess you're not from Straya and if you are you must be a silvertail who can afford the best Macquarie Street doctors ???? Apologies to the OP for the Sydney reference ????
  19. These guys are awesome, they get me my dinner quickly. Unless of course some knob in a four-wheeler hasn't left a big enough gap.
  20. there's the rub...Bitkub wanted way too much info for KYC Tier 1 when I applied last year so I gave up and signed on with Zipmex TH instead. They just wanted the standard KYC1 docs, ID & address.
  21. Or. you could pull your head out of your you know what and learn something new. Took me all of 3 minutes to find out what it means... https://th.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/มอระกู่ Tip: there's a really useful thing called Google that lets you search for stuff on the Internet. There's an even more useful tool called Translate. The word your looking for is the 2nd last one in the first paragraph: บารากู่
