  1. LOL you still don't get it; you have 3 months from the date the visa is issued to enter the Kingdom. If you don't use it by the "VALID UNTIL" date then it expires and cannot be used. That's what UJ is describing in the text you've quoted. If you arrive by the VALID UNTIL date you will be stamped in for an initial permission to stay of 60 days and the visa will be marked USED. That's how it works. End of.
  2. Sure they do. My buddy managed to get four lanes of peak hour traffic to stop for us at a zebra crossing in Chinatown a few months back. It was scary as hell and I think at least one motosai popped through, as expected, but all the cars stopped and we got across fine.
  3. Thanks, very useful tip. Excel user because of my old job so still getting used to Sheets (I use it on my phone for fairly simple calculations).
  4. It's neither 90 days nor 3 months (there's a difference). It's 60 days. Extendable once by 30 days; extensions are at the discretion of the local Immigration Officer although in practice you'd have to be doing something very wrong to get rejected. I think you might be confusing the "enter before" period (3 mths) with the initial permission to stay granted by the Single Entry Tourist Visa (60 days).
  5. Thank you very much and yes I can use that option. I found out about that after reading @GroveHillWanderer's post. I tried it out on a replay and the video on my phone was a nice smooth 1080p. However when I cast it to the Samsung UHD/HDR panel from my Galaxy S22+ using Sammy SmartView I found that the video was a bit "stuttery". Still watchable but not quite as enjoyable as unbuffered, high bitrate 1080p or 2160p streaming. Maybe next World Cup Live matches are only 720p but I guess that's better than nothing. I'll use this method when I find a match that I really want to watch. Or go to the pub if it's an early game, Bangkok seems to have no shortage of sports bars. It's a shame that True don't have a TV app that I can use to stream at 4K. I'd have been happy to pay a couple thou just for the World Cup.
  6. This should work but test it anyway... =IF(A14+A15<2000,521.8,0)
  7. Yes, that's how it works and it's why we call it a 60 day visa. Go take a look at a picture of an SETV on Google, nowhere does it mention 90 days. It doesn't mention 60 days either; that is inferred from the "TR" visa class.
  8. Are you able to share a photo of it with the class? Sensitive info redacted of course. I've yet to see any pics of the new e-visa. Ps. Please ????????
  9. From what I'm reading the conscripts are just cannon fodder. They're sent to the front lines and must do as commanded or get shot by the second line of troops, who in turn will get shot by the third line if they disobey orders. I thank the new gods and the old that I'm not a young Russian male.
  10. Why the heck is a necropsy? I guess that's my project for today, gotta full in the hours somehow until 11 am ????
  11. That sounds similar to the Jakarta "magic hand" technique. But I don't know if it ruffles feathers here or not so I rarely use it.
  12. There's been a few recent posts on this subject. Scroll through the last 3 pages of this branch (Thai Visas, Residency and Work Permits). They should be easy to spot.
  13. I'll be there for Melly Klitmat, thanks for the warning.
  14. I avoid those zebra crossings if I can because of the recent incidents. I also assume that drivers won't stop or that a motorbike will come whizzing in between the stopping cars. I was on the back of a motorbike that did exactly that at 2am on Silom Road. The nutjob rider almost plooughed in to a group of young tourist fellas who were crossing on the green man. I noticed they were looking straight ahead and not at the oncoming traffic. Now when crossing the road at a zebra crossing (when forced to) I keep my eyes glued to the oncoming traffic and try my best to read the "body language" of the approaching vehicles. Maybe a quick glance to the left to spot any rogue motosais. Hopefully this continues to work for me as I really don't want to end up like that fella in the video ????
  15. "Turning left onto the Suk eh? Hmm...must have been headed to Nana. Only dodgy farang go to Nana so the BiB were right to stop you and ask for passport (even though that doesn't happen, 50 years blah and). Ergo it's your fault." There @ivorsmallun2 I saved you the trouble ????
  16. You're in Thailand now buddy, they use the Buddhist Era date system, not "some strange number". Show a little respect to your gracious hosts.
  17. Nope. TR gives you 60 days on entry not 90. It's the initial permission to stay period that is used to describe visas, not the total amount of time you can get after extensions. There you have it ????.
  18. There's a certain type of poster in here that has lived in Thailand for a hundred years and has never had a problem at Immigration, never been stopped by a cop and asked for tea money, never been asked for a passport, never been questioned at the airport, never had to pee in a cup. So when others post their own experiences to the contrary the usual response is that you're making it up. Or that it's "hearsay" or "bad reporting by 'useless lazy Thais'". Their words, not mine. Then when they eventually concede that you're not lying they tell you that it was because of the way you were dressed, or berated you for being an "easy mark" because you gave the copper a hundred baht to get out of your face. Or some other ex-SAS hard man type response ????
  19. The raid wasn't led by Pattaya police so I'm really not buying the too-light "brown envelopes" angle. IMHO this is some kind of political play by Pol Maj Gen Suwanlaong to show his superiors that he's the man. OR he's under orders from above to make a big song and dance for a week or two to show after which things will go back to normal.
  20. Yes I know, however it has not been in the news until recently. Covid put quite the dampener on things, remember?
  21. What do you want it to display if the sum of 14 and 15 is less than 2000?
  22. That's because I went for the internet-only package so all I got was the Gigatex fiber modem/router. I usually only watch TV shows and I get my content from other sources, hence my unfamiliarity with boxes and casting and the like. I'm a fan of tech but it can be overwhelming at times. tbh I'm not desperate to watch the WC but I'll have a look at the streaming option anyway, if only to learn something new. Thanks for the tip.
