My guess it will be provided free to those getting the shots.

Hope you are right, outrageous otherwise, when you consider the massive daily food handouts being provided and funded by both good hearted Thais and Westerners.

Only dumb people would eat 'stale bread' everyday when they have the option to go back home and eat 'fresh bread', don't you think so?

Its not easy for many people to go back to their own country.

Read the many reports not fantasy regarding the effectiveness of Sinovac by qualified medical professionals ,with many of those staff succumbing to the delta strain of  covid having been double vaccinated.

Dont think their is much doubt many would  prefer given the choice to have a vaccine endorsed worldwide such as Pfizer or Moderna.

However any vaccine is certainly better than none.

    More Chinese vaccines?

    Way to go Thailand!

Please explain the long queue that I saw in Chiang Mai for the Chinese vaccines from westerners recently if they are 'ineffective' as claimed by certain people..

If you havent eaten for a week, most people would eat stale bread and cheese if it was offered.

But you can be assured the Junta and their families, friends, hangers-on and assorted sycophants will be fine dining daily.

Why is it a penalty to make sure unvaccinated people from a High Incidence Country be put in Quarantine, do you expect to be exempt because you are British

if you were out of the country long before covid was around , not having deliberately travelled into red or orange zones because there werent any. it seems harsh that if you are unfortunate enough to need to return to the UK that as a Uk national you would be forced to pay 2,225 pounds for the understandably necessary quarantine along with citizens from any other country entering the Uk from a red zone.

No one expects to be exempt from quarantine because they are British.

That is what I was hoping for .

Not to be able to go .

Uk is still amber group as of the review results published today but as mentioned should they go to red at the next UK review date a big if? the new price for the red listing country mandatory government hotel quarantine is to be 2,225 pounds from the 8th of August.

At the moment requirements are covid test 72 hrs and pre booked paid for day 2 and day 8 tests filled out passenger locator form 48 hrs prior to flying and 10 day quarantine at your own choice of venue, home or hotels etc.

All the latest info is on the Uk government website.

  6. As a Brit it would be nice to think that some of the Astra Zeneca could be used in the vaccine programs for westerners, we can hope.

Some good news for those of us mulling over a return to the Uk , Thailand remains in the amber listing from the latest Uk government review, however not so good if it does change to red the mandatory hotel quarantine price to be paid before your return flight has now increased to 2,225 pounds. as a penalty to return to your own country.

because a less than 1% portion of the population is affected by a virus.

I was concerned about Covid, one private hospital locally had 15 doctors out of 120 staff test positive etc.

However reading your post knowing its really only 1% of the population affected I feel reassured and back to a state of calm relaxation........thanks so much for the information.

  8. A lotion available at big c and various outlets is a small bottle with 15 written on it, not the price but 45 baht and very effective and comes in various pleasant odours, if kept in the fridge can be cooling when applied.

One fact I do know is, the number of Brits living in Thailand is 49.000 according to the UK Embassy.

Very surprised by this low number, but with the UK donating 450,000 Astra zeneca vaccines, perhaps their is a chance of something other than Sinovac?.

Although for those of us outside of Bangkok in Issan cities not recognized as significant by the philanthropic junta other than Buriram, we will have to take what we are offered until the Moderna arrives.
