I paid 2000 baht for a set of 5 in Chiang Mai.
Seems expensive initially they mentioned availability at under 200 baht each, guess the profiteers are out in full force.
Still not seen them available yet in my Issan area along with a similar scarcity of a vaccine, maybe I need an app or online registration and an appointment at the local pharmacy to buy one.

Because the rich Chinese Thais control the factories and industry and have their hands and arms firmly up the rear end of Pinocchio and the other puppets who dance to their tune.
How is it that so many migrant workers who are caught illegally crossing the borders have paid for jobs in Thailand but without fail the factories or building projects who have offered them work are never ever named and shamed.

Un-f#@%ing-believble!!! This whole public charade is just for some furniture being stolen from a rented accommodation!!?? Oh wait... I see now.... the thief is farang... good work RTP... keep catching those horrible nasty foreigners.
What a laughing stock these police are. Can you imagine the Brit/American police calling a public meeting/presentation with clipboards and pointy sticks to show how they successfully apprehended a thief who'd stolen a few hundred pounds of furniture..!? Honestly.... the hipocracy of it all... just days after some idiot spouting how Thais and foreigners treated the same here...!!!
Totally agree and sadly this site actually runs the pathetic non news story ......how about a presentation with photos of people laying in the streets and ministers counting the kick backs rather than helping their people etc by actually procuring vaccines .....far more relevant and newsworthy!

Asymptomatic people could isolate at home freeing up beds and nursing staff for the patients in more serious condition.

And I presume you weren't forced to have a PCR test aswell.
Indeed not the lab wouldnt do a PCR test that was hospital only, at the time 9 months ago I took neither test.

I agree regarding Antibody not Antigen. Not sure about forcing anyone to have a PCR test, however, as you would have to pay for it.
As mentioned previously antibody tests are available, I was offered an antibody test for about 900 baht at local lab nine months ago,the lab was part of the Thonburi group who have several around the country.

If you have symptoms of Covid then get a proper test (such as it is) …. or be responsible and self isolate. If you have Covid, it’s not like they can do anything for you. Are they expecting people to home test if they don’t have symptoms?
You can easily be asymptomatic or very minor symptoms, if you get a proper test as you say it will cost 3/4k and you risk then being incarcerated which will cost a lot and as you say what are they going to do.
But if you home test for a few hundred baht with a kit and after a couple of positives providing you are not too unwell you could self isolate at home and hopefully recover.

made a big mistake with the first company I booked with and as a result, I found literally thousands of stories and complaints about them and many other testing providers.
Great article,re the tests on day 2 and day 8,as you say the real purpose is to get that all important booking ref number to put on the passenger locator form which is a must have to fly.
If you didnt manage to do these tests or get to the test location I believe the same testing kits are available for free or for very little at pharmacies in the Uk.
Hope your wife makes it would be good to know how check in was handled by Klm.

Did you get the antibody test?Do you know if the antibody tests are widely available?
Not had the antibody test but it was offered to me at my local lab many months ago for about 900 baht. This lab was part of the Thonburi lab group who have labs around the country.

as I keep saying - I would rather buy a test kit that told me if I had already had the virus - I don't need a test kit to tell if I have it
We are all different, I can get a cheap antibody test at local lab to see if I already had the virus.
Now I would like an antigen test and was enquiring about their availability as a role out at pharmacies was indicated for this week.

Although some guy issued a directive saying he didnt want anyone prosecuted under the lese majeste laws.......the megalomaniacs still decide to ignore that and use this ruling to control the people.

I have a similar scenario from the the same area thinking about travel to the airport if i pull the plug.
At the moment flights are cancelled but set to restart from the 4th of August if you go to Thai Smile website they are actually bookable.....but wiil the ban be extended is the question.?
Have all bus companies stopped the KK to bkk route.? Think the trains are still running.
For sure someone will need the money and offer a taxi service if all else fails and less stressful than a car rental and driving yourself.
At the moment their is a Thai airways flight every few days Bkk to London leaves just after midnight so allows a day for travel down to the airport....if youve already done your pre flight Covid test In khon Kaen.

I have also used key visa, excellent service and the letter for immigration automatically is sent to you with your new passport.
Obviously as his staff use VFS this doesnt help you but if you contact him he may be able to recommend an agent or contact in Chiang Mai...... worth a try.
Good luck

This government did exactly the same as every other government did ....... they played the wait and see game.
And to be honest ...... anyone spending 2,400,000,000 THB would do the same.
If he had actually encouraged proactive testing well over a year ago instead of having a policy of miniscule testing he would have known long ago vaccines were needed.
Instead he negligently perpetuated the illusion of a virtually covid free Thailand that only morons could believe, why would Thailand have a get out of jail free card for the pandemic which originated in China and the Chinese were tourists here in their millions at the outset of Covid.

Normally you could only do it couple of weeks early.
You may get a under consideration stamp with report back date on it. Typically the report back date is 2 weeks after you apply. The under consideration stamp allows you to stay in the country until it is approved.
Is that for the retirement visa which would be done through my agent presume as normal same day.
So a covid extension is not all done one visit and may get the under consideration stamp?

It would of been the 29th of this month. Now it is the 27th of September.
Thanks Joe, just to clarify my retirement extension finishes 20th Aug if I wish to renew it can do anytime between now and the 20th.?
If not renewing for a year but requiring another couple of months stay, I can do a covid extension anytime before the 20th Aug and just fill out the forms affidavit etc pay the 1900 baht thats it done on the day?
Thankyou.

Is this every route everywhere or just Thai transport company ...... so buses by Chan Tours, Nakhonchai air etc Phetsapert tours etc etc including buses heading to the airport have all stopped rolling as of 5 hours ago until further notice?

If they donated all the funds to be skimmed and embezzled for the next three months their would be enough for lunch boxes for the poor for many years.

Perhaps they were leaders of the latest peoples revolution to overthrow the inept Czar and had been administered with some permanent attitude adjustment.

Is that actually happening? surely now we have the option to home isolate especially if using a home test kit .
