I think you are correct, there has been a columnist in the Bangkok Post spouting the same hypothesis for quite a while now. It may be all well in a village in Issan but anybody who actually looks can see a decline in Tourists and a rapidly increasing cost of living here in Thailand. Major manufacturers are leaving, small - medium size businesses are closing or downsizing. Vehicle loans are foreclosing. Second hand vehicle prices have dropped dramatically. i guess we will just have to wait and see.

i have just completed a 4.5 K kilometre trip from Hua Hin through Los and Vietnam, it was an organised tour. There was a gentleman on a Zontes 368G, the Adventure style model. i spoke to him at length about the scooter and i was very impressed with its performance over the course of the tour. we rode on secondary roads in Laos, full off potholes and a lot of unsealed surfaces, as well as secondary and primary roads in Vietnam. he had no problem keeping pace with the big bike riders and it amazed me how well the scooter performed. I know Zontes have released a 703 adventure style full size bike and after watching this scooter i am considering purchasing one for my son. personally i ride a ducati but now i would not hesitate to recommend a Chinese scooter. Macs just seem to work. No taking it to some MSCE bloke to get a driver put on. Free Software upgrades. Operating system upgrades/Updates are free. I used to travel to remote areas a lot in my working life, i needed a computer that would work with whatever hardware i threw at it, my Mac just worked with everything. They are a bit more expensive , but, will you pay more for Filet Mignon than sausages ? that why they cost more, because they are better.

The difference id due to the importer charging whatever he feels like and retailer having to oblige. look at prices of imported liquor, for example american bourbon. The prices charged are ridiculous. and it is simply gouging by the importer.

Ok , so we are going to see Tariffs on imported goods from USA.. I would like to predict that any item that is imported and has the import tarriff reduced, will not show any price reduction at retail outlet. the difference will be simply absorbed by the deep pockets of the people who need it the least.

i have been using WISE for years and recently transferred a few million baht in various transaction to my kasikorn account. These transfers went smoothly with the usual turn around time of a few seconds. however tonight i tried to transfer 10K AUD. wise took an exceptionally long time to add it to my account, despite my Aussie bank account telling me that the transfer was completed. wise slowed right down. slowed down to the point where i cancelled the transfer. i contacted the so called help service and asked what was happening and they reassured me that the service was normal and i should try again. I did, with a lesser amount, same slow response. again contacted Wise through lack of help line and i was informed that they had to check my account, i asked "Keenan D" to check my recent transactions, he supposedly did but was absoloutly useless when it came to helping with the transfer. what used to be a great company to deal with has degenerated into a hit and miss affair. It is a great idea to leave 800K in a Thai bank account at 0% interest. put the 800 K in an Australian bank account and you will get well over the going rate for a visa via an agent in interest alone and the added security of the Thai bank closing your account.

You are well out range there. you should look at the little hell hole you live in. there is nothing there except nearly dead pensioners sitting in Gods waiting room and broke expats. The prices of property are well above prices in Hua Hin for a comparable property. oops, i forgot there are no comparable properties unless you want to talk about hovels. As for the price of horizontal entertainment, you are clueless as there are none available in your town if you don't include the 300 baht Karaoke bar girls. tell me i am wrong ? remember trump fan, i lived in that dump for a long time as well,, i just saw the light and got out.

sorry Pal but you are completely delusional. The Better the beef, the higher the price. not all people play with with the same quality. Phuket is double the price of Hua Hin. Bangkok freelancers are asking for more than Bargirls in Hua Hin.

Has anybody here suffered from pinkeye ? i caught a dose about a week ago and both the eye clinic and local hospital were not that worried. They prescribed drops and antibiotics and said wait it out and come back in a week. i have found this quite surprising and as it has not abated, i am asking for other peoples experiences. Moose
