  1. i have been using WISE for years and recently transferred a few million baht in various transaction to my kasikorn account. These transfers went smoothly with the usual turn around time of a few seconds. however tonight i tried to transfer 10K AUD. wise took an exceptionally long time to add it to my account, despite my Aussie bank account telling me that the transfer was completed. wise slowed right down. slowed down to the point where i cancelled the transfer. i contacted the so called help service and asked what was happening and they reassured me that the service was normal and i should try again. I did, with a lesser amount, same slow response. again contacted Wise through lack of help line and i was informed that they had to check my account, i asked "Keenan D" to check my recent transactions, he supposedly did but was absoloutly useless when it came to helping with the transfer. what used to be a great company to deal with has degenerated into a hit and miss affair. 6. It is a great idea to leave 800K in a Thai bank account at 0% interest. put the 800 K in an Australian bank account and you will get well over the going rate for a visa via an agent in interest alone and the added security of the Thai bank closing your account.
  7. just bought two packets of cigarettes in thailand, 144 baht in Australia not much change out of $100
  8. Has anybody here suffered from pinkeye ? i caught a dose about a week ago and both the eye clinic and local hospital were not that worried. They prescribed drops and antibiotics and said wait it out and come back in a week. i have found this quite surprising and as it has not abated, i am asking for other peoples experiences. Moose
  9. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 76 seconds

  11. Sorry Pal but you are completely clueless as to how cheaply and well you can live here. Don't let the door hit your when you go back to Shazza with her winnie reds.
  12. I recently purchased a GPX DZ3, it is a "Locally" produced scooter around the same size as a normal 150 cc Scooter, however it has a 300CC engine. The engine is a SYM, Taiwanese, common in quite a few other bikes such as certain lambreta models. I am a big guy, 6'3" 110 kgs, and this little scoot is certainly nippy enough for me. It is easy to park and seemingly good quality. The price for the Sports model was just under 100K. It has upgraded rear shocks and can handle myself and any afterhours accessory i decide to cart around. This model may be worth consideration. Then you also have the new ZONTES scooters similar to forza and a new X-ADV style bike. Realistically, it all comes down to your budget and preference of bike. My "Touring" bike is a Multistrada 1200S
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 83 seconds
  14. The whole idea of riding motorcycles in Thailand to travel is a very toxic topic. Personally, i have ridden a lot of miles here without a problem but i would probably be classed as an experienced rider, i got my first bike at age 7 and have ridden all my life in a few different countries. Back to topic, i personally have travelled from Sukhimvit Soi 42 to Lom's bar on the esplanade in Prachuap Khiri Khan in 2.5 hours, for the unfamiliar with the area, that is 100 kilometers past Hua Hin. That was on a motorcycle, and for those who call BS. there owner of the shop i was at in BKK will back me up as he has been trying to match that time for a while now......555. So, in a nutshell, Hua Hin Is not that far.

  16. Got a mate in Australia had his house burn down from a faulty electric scooter meltdown.
  17. As i work in Australia and i am on the Diabetic register, it is cheap as chips for me, Like 200 baht a month. I cannot give any idea as to cost in Thailand as i bring mine in From OZ. I was simply making a suggestion.
  18. Set up is Very straightforward, buy it, download the app, Stick the Monitor on your Upper arm, synch the monitor to your phone. Job done. The monitor continuously talks to your phone and plots in real time your sugar levels. I did not notice ant effect to my phone as far as battery life goes. You can export results to Excel so you can send to a doctor, Each monitor lasts about 3 weeks. it warns you before the battery runs out. They are disposable and one use only. I wear mine high up on upper arm so i can wear a t-shirt and it is not visible.
  19. There is a thing called a CGM. I use the Freestyle Libre 2 It is a small device that sticks to your upper arem and constantly monitors your blood sugar levels, they pair with an app on your phone. I have been using them in Australia for about a year and it allowed me to get a good understanding of what foods affect my sugar levels, also how certain foods give a rapid spike where others are more gradual. this has allowed me to set a diet for myself and as of my last blood tests the endocrinologist has taken me off all meds.
  20. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 114 seconds
  21. I have had Hearing aids for about 9 years, i have severe hearing loss from a previous employment. I find that they nearly completely kill the tinnitus. I certainly recommend trying them as any improvement is better than none.
