    I second that.

13 years coming to Thailand , never flew Thai air , but always connect from Bkk  to KKC and back  on Thai smile , at least twice a year and love them.

Funny how you could have done that as Thai Smile only commenced operations in 2012.

Not sure when the budget airlines started flying to KKC but for a few years it was Thai Airways alone that flew there.

    Very straight forward.

Get an Non-Imm. O visa, easily done.

Go to your embassy and get an affirmation of freedom to marry.

Take the above to any regional office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get it translated.

Take the output from the previous step to the Amphur and get married.

Visit Immigration and extend your visa based on marriage.

    Caveats:

Each Embassy has different requirements of their citizens regarding affirmations, you'll need to google yours to check and see what they want.

Each Amphur has different requirements and wants different documents, check with a couple of Amphurs to see what they require and what suits you.

I got married on a tourist visa as I am sure many others have too.

Same with my Thai wife 23 years ago.  Wear helmet and car seat belts. Only once caught her going to local market along 2 km busy road. Stern talk about safety. She got the message.

Ha ha, when I first started going out with the missus I convinced her that I had installed a gadget in the car that would not let it start until all seatbelts were fastened.

Worked a treat for a few months and now the habit well ingrained.

You're still wrong and now quoting some daft made up stat !!...99% of foreigners are to blame ?? - Thats still absolute rubbish and is a claim made by 'noobies' or those propping up a bar and continuing to perpetuate the same old idiotic myths about Thailand while never actually experiencing anything....

Couldn't agree more. I got swiped by a concrete truck on the dreaded Patong Hill along with the Missus and my trusty Honda Wave. Shoulder reconstruction and various stitches and gravel rashes all paid by the driver and/or his insurance. A Thai guy actually chased the driver down and effectively carried out a citizens arrest on the cement truck driver.

Very much different from Switzerland (very easy - never seen Thai ladies with Swiss passport?), Norway,  Germany,  to name a few.

I know a few Thai ladies with Norwegian passports. The reason why many don't get them is Norway does not allow dual citizenship so they have to relinquish their Thai citizenship and all that goes with it.

They come back to Thailand on tourist visas much the same as any other Norwegian.

  6. My eldest daughter went to Buds Kindergarten for 2 years. When we came over to Aus she went into Year 1 and fit in really easy and was at least on a par with her classmates.

As a matter of interest she never had any Filipina teachers, all were from US, Aus or the UK.

  7. Well we stayed at the Ingtarra. Not bad for the price and the views from the rooftop restaurant are really good over Khon Kaen at night.

Would not recommend the food there though - pretty ordinary as well as breakfast.

Got stung for an extra 100 baht for breakfast for the youngest kid even after having been told it was free when we booked.

    All up not too bad.
