The new way of TAT to increase the tourist arrivals.

TAT will like that. They want quality tourists, but the numer of normal tourists is already decreasing (more then 10% this year).

Last week Prayuth said he encourages foreign investment in Thailand. Is this the way?

Good advertising for TAT, they want more quality tourists. But the tourist number is going down steadily. Why? Because other countries are more safe, for example Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Not surprising. Military dictatorship and turmoils do not attract tourists. And the price policy of Thai does the rest. For example: ZRH-BKK is cheaper with Swiss then with Thai (and a lot better).

A quality tourist, exactly what TAT wants...

TAT will be happy about this. Tourist numbers will further decrease. Thailand is becoming more and more a dangerous place, time to go elsewhere.

It is clear why. 10th anniversary on 25th Oct. of the massacre at Tak Bai. The fools in the Thai government have no idea of how to handle this religious and ethnical conflict, also not under martial law.

The bureaucracy in Thailand will be soon bigger then in India, and this means a lot! Much more easy in Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia. In Malaysia, you get 90 days visa-free entry instead of 30 only in Thailand. In hotels and GH you just present your passport, the rest is the owner's duty. In normal countries you pay the hotel at the end of your stay, in Thailand they want money even before they show you the room.

And what about the quality of Thailand? Scams, martial law, murders of tourists, dirty streets, increasing criminality. The general should first care about this, number of tourists is down by more then 10% compared to last year.

Martial law, military dictatorship, killing of tourists, increase in crime rate, scams... and then they are wondering why Thailand is no more the prefered destination. Other countries in the area are more save nowadays, such as Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia. Today I use BKK as a hub only to visit Laos and Vietnam, which are both more genuine then stressed Thailand.

The reality is completely different. Thailand is treating not only refugees against all human principles, but also the slave workers from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. For Thais anything is o.k, as long as you can make money out of it. But a huge outcry in Thai media, when Finland deports Thai workers, when they stay illegally in the country after the work contract has finished. Very much Thai logic.

TAT ist going crazy. Many people does not like to spend holidays in countries with military dictatorship. And the safety situation in Thailand has worsened, see the 2 killed British tourists in Koh Tao. Crime rate is also increasing, other countries such as Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia are more safe nowadays.

And what about human trafficking in Thailand? And slave labour of Burmese, Laotian and Cambodian workers in Thailand? And the mistreating of refugees from Myanmar?

In comparison with Western countries Thailand is very dirty. Why they cannot learn from the West, build waste incinerators and recycle plastics, aluminium etc.? And ban the little plastic bags in every 7/11?

Thai racism. If the want to guide Russian tourists, they have to speak Russian. But to learn Russian is asked for too much for them. Here in Switzerland we have tour guides who speak Japanese, Russian, Chinese etc.

Not only illegal ivory trade, also illegal slave trade. Welcome to glorious Thailand.
