Day 5. 03.11.22. Kanchanaburi jungle ride 432 km
A ride up R323 northwest of Kanchanaburi until turning right on R3091 and riding towards Wat Khli Ti Lang. After passing Noen Sawan viewpoint,
https://goo.gl/maps/pTTmVUiGeLgtFimJ6
the road deteriorated slowly into potholes, gravel and sand tracks with small patches of un-spoilt road now and again. That was perfect for me to improve my riding skills. I must thank my friend Gary Sharpe for the heads up on the tracks there.
10km before Wat Khili Ti Lang,

at a fork I went left which was the wrong way and eventually was told by the truckers who were moving lots of topsoil to turn back. It was 2pm and I was 6 hours into my ride so it suited me as I avoid riding at night if possible. Unfortunately a flat slowed me down and I finally got back to my hotel after 12 hours of fun beside the flat and night riding.

Day 4. 02.11.22. Around Kanchanaburi
I just went looking for farm tracks today for a few hours, sugar cane mostly. I got bogged down in one area and had to walk the bike out but no issues. I need to research more before I start riding like this, but it was fun for a few hours.

Day 2. 31.10.22. Kanchanaburi 67km

I have ridden around a lot on mine and will be off again for a few months later in the year. Great fun, don't be in a hurry and explore off road tracks is what it is good for.
Here is my trip report..............

If you must, then you must and then just take the best precautions you can. I understand bicycles, because that's a little bit of exercise; however, also dangerous.
Luckily for me, the first time I got picked up on a motorbike we crashed after about three minutes. Car cut us off, and I jumped off the back, no harm. After that day, never got on another one. That was 6 years ago. Many people have been mad I won't get on one, whatever, it's my life.
If there is a way you can avoid being on one, consider it................
Motorbikes are not dangerous. I have never been attacked by a motorbike, they are docile.
Riding a motorbike when drunk, unqualified, to fast for conditions is dangerous.
Other vehicles often cause motorbike accidents, that makes them dangerous not the motorbike.
Riding a motorbike is by far the best way to see real Thailand, just be aware or road conditions and other road users.

This article states in 2011 the worst flooding for 50 years, so 60 years ago flooding was worse.

Here is a link to an interview guide and a list of some possible Thai language questions.

"He said the agency wants to introduce an identity card for expats, helping to distinguish them from tourists so they will be charged the same price as locals"
Don't overcomplicate it, just ask for passport if they must
I carry my passport only when 100% required.
They should find a way to stop this dual pricing.

Yes, it protects the doctors but the other purpose of wearing masks during surgery it that it is intended to protect the patient. A doctor with a disease can accidentally pass it on to the patient.
Anaesthetists no long need to wear them as the are in the background.

Who is protecting patients from the doctors?

Surgeons protect the patient by not breathing germs at them. For hundreds of years surgery was performed without masks. People died.
For hundreds of years surgeons have been killing people and doctors killing people comes behind heart disease and cancer, so the third biggest killers of people and we listen to them as if they are gods. Crazy.
Masks are worn in surgery to protect the doctors from blood or other liquid spraying from the patients. -

So many seem to think not wearing masks is a good idea. Just discovered a woman a few doors down died of Covid. I guess Thailand can afford to accept more deaths but what happens when tourists find out numbers were covered up?
If only people who don't want to wear masks would tell their doctor next time they have an operation that they don't want the surgeon and nurses to wear a mask! But they won't because they don't want to die.
Maybe you should ask yourself why surgeons wear masks during surgery?

"The current average daily incidence [of new COVID cases] continues to increase, up to 104,399 on May 24 from 99,215 new cases per day on May 17."
"New COVID-19 hospital admissions continue to trend upwards, with an increase of 14% over the past week."
"The US recently began averaging more than 100,000 new daily COVID-19 cases for the first time since February."

When in enclosed public places, wear a mask. Protect yourself. Protect those around you.

Tosh, people wearing masks and vaccinated still contact it and spread it.

Some great pics. How has the RE Classic been?
I bought a 350 Classic in Phuket at the end of March. Put 500k on it and had it serviced before heading north. Phuket to Sam Roi Yot to Kanchanaburi to Chinag Mai. I am now based in Chiang Mai so have trips into the hills. Travelled to Golden Triangle and Chiang Kong at Songkran. Samoeng Loop last weekend. I will do the Mae Hong Son loop in a couple of weeks.
Absolutely love my bike and now clocked 3500 kms in around 6 weeks.
Enjoy ????
Beside a few electrical issues the first day, it have been great and now with 17+ km on the clock running really great.
Part one of my trip i went to the north, my favourite part of Thailand.

Day 33. 01.05.22 Ban Kruat to Surin temple hunting. 120 km.
Firstly I went to Prasat Ban Phluang, which was a small place, but very well maintained. On my way to some other sites the rain helped be decide to ride back to Ban Kruat. I was not going to take photos in the rain, there is always another time.
At Ban Kruat I took some photos of the temple in the middle of town, Prasat Tong.

A boring ride to Ban Kruat today.
Day 32. 30.04.22 Ban Kruat to Ban Sawai Reservoir.
An early morning ride exploring local areas to Ban Kruat followed by a trip to this reservoir.
Well worth a look with many places to rent by the hour to sit over the water with slides etc for the children to play on. Beer and food cheap and good too.

A great ride today beside the heat. I rode and anti clockwise loop with my first stop at Huay Kra Proi Reservoir. Following onto the viewpoint at Samphao Tong Chedi viewpoint. Then back to town, some really nice and quiet roads to ride along.
