As Sheryl said earlier you need to be check first. Your problems sounds very similar to mines. Aging is a bit-ch I knew my eyes been getting worse having planned a trip home in Feb, I arranged to see an Opthamolagist to see where I sit at my age. Prior I couldnt locate my old glasses so I had a new pair made I also needed to renew my driver licence when I got them leaving the next day told needed to wear them get my eyes adjusted but after a day I knew something wasnt right. At the DMV I fail bomb out lucky I had planned ahead next day to the pre- arranged appointment result I have cataract both eyes. Also my perscription done in Pattaya was way off got new reading had lenses made passed with flying colors. In fact the new lenses when wearing are so clear unbelieveable! Future, still need to get them done but due to cost of flight, accomodations, and time frame although Medicare will cover will most likely do them here in Thailand.
