  1. Arrived early 1345pm. Went straight to the tent. Window one was free, so I just walked up and showed my email appt. The officer took my papers straight away. He said he didn't need my bank statements. 5 minutes or so later and he handed my documents to a colleague, who walked me inside and told me to wait to hear my name called. Called forward and handed over my latest bank book and copy, for yet another check and surprisingly enough, she asked for 12 months statements. No point in explaining that the officer in the tent said they were not required. I just gave them to her and smiled. I left 40 minutes after arrival in the tent. Edit: I should add that the reason she probably wanted the bank statements, is because I had 3 bank books( same account) with only 3.5 pages in, so the bank provided new bank books, because the previous two had no more pages left after all the updates. But the 800000 baht had never been withdrawn and this was confirmed in all 3 Bank books and verified by the statements. This obviously confused her because she asked " why so many bank books"?
  2. I have a retirement extension appointment tomorrow. So, I will provide feedback on the system, tent or no tent when I return home.
  3. Try this place. Excellent service and English spoken. Very reasonable prices. https://goo.gl/maps/aobTeuvvuBF8LJWeA
  4. Thank you everyone for your help. Amazingly, I managed to resolve the issue a few moments ago.
  5. Thank you. I will give him a try.
  6. Hi Does anyone know of a reliable electronics repair shop in Chiang Mai, to be able to repair an Internet radio? Thank you.
  7. Renewed my passport in Jan, transferred the stamps and asked the TM 30 clerk, if I need to renew my TM 30 because of my new passport. The answer was no, not unless you have left the country, since last TM30 report, which for me was 2019. Did my 90 day drive through on Monday and no questions on TM 30.
  8. You can apply up to 45 days before. If you are really worried, why not call in to your immigration office and get the answer directly from them.
  9. Put the gear into "P". Remove the key and depress the small button at the top right of the gear console, whilst putting the gear lever into neutral.
  10. As you say.....it is just a guess. Who really knows the reason for them asking. If people answer by inflating their income to immigration, it will be counterproductive, if indeed your guess is correct. It will give them a reason to consider increasing fees or financial qualifications for extensions.
  11. All this rumour mongering is easily confirmed or denied by contacting immigration.
  12. Don't forget to take proof of address in English with your name on. You can use driving licence or a utility bill. I used my dtac bill, which I downloaded from my account. Copy whichever one you need. I did both just in case. As someone said, Thai debit cards sometimes get refused because payment is taken at the passport renewal office, outside of Thailand. To be doubly safe, if you use a Thai debit card, visit your bank and ensure that international payments is enabled on your account. It actually happened to my neighbour.
  13. I wasn't talking about using debit cards in my home country. I was asking how it was possible to use a NZ wise registered debit card in Thailand. But thank you for clarifying.
  14. How can you possibly use a card issued for use and registered in NZ and then use it in Thailand, where it isn't authorised?
  15. Still waiting for wise to provide a card for Thailand. They don't seem to be in a hurry to do so.
  16. Wow! 6 months ago. I used it last month and it defaulted to the usual bank transfer. Hence my post after yesterday's transfer, when I noticed the fee increase.
  17. It seems that a mod has already moved this to a general finance forum.
  18. Good point. My post was merely to point out the subtle change.
  19. Thank you for confirming what someone else contradicted.
  20. If it hadn't changed, I would not have posted the information.
