1. Maybe..maybe not on vaccinations because it is quickly becoming clear they have a short life (Israel claiming 6 months & Biden already boosting) but I believe 100% medical insurance will be needed for extension renewals
2. Same as it ever was ???? It has always & will always be this way The vote & the two party system is just a con to make people feel involved Truth is you get to pick from who they preselect for you & both sides are bought & paid for by the same usual suspects You want something different? Add "None Of The Above" to the ballot & see
3. I recently did this process in reverse... Meaning they automatically gave me Part B & I wanted out They said just return card checking off part saying you opt out but it never went thru So after contacting SS I found the easiest sure fire way was to file form CMS 1763 Again for my case of Opting out of Part B The reason I am telling you this even though you want the opposite is I live in the USA & after speaking a long time with a nice lady at SS she said always on these cases the surefire way is fill the appropriate form & send to SS Reasoning that SS is so backed up it is the only way to assure your covered or opted out with no penalties as you have proof My Medicare starts Nov 2021 so I had time to re-file it In your case just fill in form CMS40B which is the request for part B & send it to SS before your medicare starts At least that way your protected from any interest/penalty etc You will have your medicare # well in advance of starting medicare so no problem filling it out https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/CMS-Forms/CMS-Forms/Downloads/CMS40B-E.pdf
4. Thank You for post/video very nice !
5. Ummm so basically exactly the same as what Thailand demands of everyone even fully vaccinated entering Thailand
6. Ok while I am not one who thinks Foreigners should own land in Thailand this quote is silly isn't it? I mean do all Thai's own their homes & land now? Or are some tenants in their own country<sic> This one is funny because it comes out to $6.666.666 coincidence? ???? This one should be the final get aboard whistle for anyone who still does not have health insurance in Thailand & thinks it will not be required for all visa extensions soon enough...It surely will ????
7. Yes I understood but what I am saying is most international travelers purchase tickets etc 3 months in advance...sometimes more. 120 days ago Prayut stated Oct 1st for sure Many may have planned & purchased & now deal with changes & hopefully no upcharges Next they should plan for Nov? Dec? or like us just say skip it?
8. Actually it is because the only time you would get a menu to select from when choosing to start a new topic is when as Ubon said you try to start it from the front page...Surely you can find your way into the forum you want to post in...THEN select start a new topic at which point you will be given no options to choose just the box to type your message into & it will be in the correct forum because.....that is where you are
9. It is as you say childishly simple of course you just go into the sub-forum of the section you want to post in...select start a new topic...again simple It is easy to understand why this forum has to nest sections under one of the eleven main sections given the size of the forum But mainly because this is now not just Thai Visa any longer Besides Thailand section there are sections for Philippines Vietnam Cambodia Indonesia Laos Malaysia Myanmar Singapore Brunei From the World Private Imagine if they did not group sections into subsections The page would really be unusable then
10. Maybe...maybe not right? I mean that is the whole point...Folks like to plan, buy travel insurance, reserve tickets etc etc But given the flip/flop track record you would have to wonder if Nov or Dec 1st will hold up any better than Oct 1st did It seems quite obvious they have a wealth of no idea ????
11. These are the moves that assure no tourists for a very long time. Reason being planning...How can anyone thinking of going back to Thailand plan anything based on any claims made by Thailand regarding any opening/rules/requirements etc etc Most folks ourselves included have no intentions to try till Winter 2022 at the earliest Fortunately we have relatives to care for our home there so no problem skipping another year
12. I think this is their usual double speak Meaning yes no "Hotel Quarantine" But like Phuket they will follow a sandbox model...meaning your still quarantined 7 days but just a larger room ????
13. But....I see no benefit either because Moderna like Pfizer was designed to accomplish its goal thru two doses They being mRNA are teaching your immune system to react to covid So if that is how they were designed what would be the thinking in boosting a viral vector vaccine like AZ which is not mRNA & instead used a spike protein to condition your immune system? The single dose Moderna (or Pfizer for that matter) would appear to my mind to just be a incomplete set of mRNA instructions ...useful or useless?
14. I wonder why they don't just stick with what they know works vaccine wise for kids... Meaning use a Adenovirus based vaccine like J&J , Astrazeneca etc I have to admit I am also surprised at how many adults think Moderna or Pfizer is the holy grail of vaccine choices available when neither has any real mass long term track record
15. I had the J&J vaccine myself I believe your correct because as you say those are all viral vector type vaccines While Moderna & Pfizer are mRNA types The viral vectors work as all previous vaccines did The mRNA is a new style of instructions given to your immune system From what we have seen here in the USA & what we read about in Israel seems the mRNA types are the ones needing the booster as again instructions may have been specific as to type of covid In my mind (My opinion only) the ratings of best antibody protections 1- Natural acquired thru surviving Covid ( but risk too high) 2- Viral Vector (long track record in previous vaccines) 3-mRNA the new often thought by most to be *best* but as yet a very short track record & truthfully not showing very long lasting antibodies Side-by-Side Comparison: COVID-19 Vaccine Pros and Cons of Adenovirus-Based SARS-CoV-2 Vaccines As additional mRNA shots roll out, Johnson & Johnson vaccine recipients told to wait
16. For goodness sake....... Just fix the visa hassle for all. Copy the USA....Give a 2 tear temp visa then in third year change it to permanent & make it a 10 year visa... Most would be more than happy with just that with no silly 90 day checks....after all you gave a one year then you want them to check back every three months? That was always a sore spot for most As for land ownership.......forget it. Thailand is too small with 70 million citizens Leave Thailand for Thai's If you open ownership for foreigners it will soon price Thai's out of land ownership Look at Hawaii...perfect example of a monarchy that made the mistake of letting foreigners own land Next thing you knew the foreigners were asking their president back in their home country to protect their investments Hawaii was then overthrown by the USA & the rest is history
17. I checked "other" because I had the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine & my wife had Pfizerx2 So we are both fully vaccinated We are not living in any kind of risk area (rural US) but just got it to make travel easier if & when it ever returns ????
18. Sad to say he is probably right that Thailand should not reopen yet. That is the fault of the clown calling themselves a government but still does not change the facts. Truthfully the only ones who would visit now are probably teh desperate for various reasons Many who normally buy travel insurance will find they will not be covered for covid if CDC travel warnings for Thailand are above 2 As it stands now Thailand is rating a level 4 warning https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/covid-4/coronavirus-thailand
19. I see OP found a insurance as suggested but just for others looking & assuming travel insurance will cover as it usually has.... I was recently looking at my usual IMG travel insurance & they do cover Covid as stated below https://www.imglobal.com/coronavirus I have a short-term IMG travel medical insurance plan and I have departed my Home Country/Country of Residence – am I covered if I contract COVID-19? Most of our travel medical plans provide coverage* for COVID-19 related care if you have purchased and entered the destination country prior to either: 1) the CDC issuing a Warning Level 3 (avoid nonessential travel) for your Destination Country; or 2) a government agency of your Home Country publishing or issuing a Travel Warning or Emergency Travel Advisory regarding your Destination Country. Eligible Medical Expenses that may be considered for coverage include, but are not limited to, charges for illness, injury or medical evacuation. But as also stated only if CDC warning is below level 3 So looking at what warning level CDC now has for Thailand it is not looking good https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/covid-4/coronavirus-thailand COVID-19 in Thailand Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 in Thailand Key Information for Travelers to Thailand Avoid travel to Thailand. If you must travel to Thailand, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel. Because of the current situation in Thailand, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants. See recommendations for fully vaccinated travelers. See recommendations for unvaccinated travelers. Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in Thailand, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others. Quick guide for travelers.
20. Worked for all of 2019 & 2020 when Prayut & Annutin were claiming they were so smart & see no tests no infections....
21. Personally I don't know as I still like making love to my wife & I am coming up on 65 But if as you say someone didn't want it because they got older...so be it their choice...maybe after doing something for 50-60 years they did in fact get tired of it who knows? Who cares? Their life right? But the original post I was replying to suggested they looked at their wife & wanted to what trade up? trade down? trade in? why ? because his little head couldn't get excited anymore by the woman he supposedly loved & married? That is in fact yes sadly being owned by his little head IMO & I would pity his wife that she wasted any life at all with him
22. Your getting warmer ???? When you get to visitors can fly in with a visa period then my wife & I will return to our Thai home. Till then we are fine where we are in the free world Yes we are vaccinated & to be honest we mainly got vaccinated as we figured it would be required to return to our Thai home So we wait & while we would like to go now as this is our usual time to spend 3 months in our home there. Sadly we will likely skip another year same as last year. It is what it is but lets be honest for most of us the juice is just not worth the squeeze
23. Anyone thinking this way has gotten olden but none the wiser. If late in life your thoughts are all still driven by a little head then it is just kind of sad isn't it?
24. May have already been said as I have not read all but........ This is dumb! Just open to vaccinated or not but to confine them to say Chiang Mai...yet all they come in contact with them...... like Thai locals etc Can still roam Thailand?? Makes no sense right? Can those that are not limited to areas but in contact with tourist not also carry the virus or not? Just either open or not but these stupid half measure do not give anyone confidence you know what your doing
