Did it sound funny to you while typing it....

Think it was around the 1990, but can't be sure.
After Mac's bar (Hard Rock), which was where everyone went after hours, there wasn't much.
By 93, on the corner, an American guy was selling the only pizza on the island at Pizza factory. That conman Brian was still around and ran Dooley's.
Yes, I also went fishing in the rice-paddy near the hospital. Caught loads of tiddlers, but gave it up as my feet were always covered in leeches.
The Expat was built in 88 and was considered far away from the night-life. Now, it's considered one of the closest bars to the night-life.
Went to the Paradise Bar near the beach. Bruce and the other guy ran the place.
Down on the sand at Patong Beach hotel was a tiny beach bar run by Brian and his missus Chumpee, who had a twin sister called Chumpah who occasionally came round.
Right across the street from the Expat bar was the Italian restaurant run by a tiny lady that had to be under five foot. Many Expat Bar patrons ordered her lasagne and ate it at the bar.
For about a year, I lived in Bangla with my girlfriend of the time. She kinda owned the place. It used to be a tailors, but is now a small Family Mart. How I slept through the racket, I'll never know.
Considering the goings on of the time and since, how you remember all that I'll never know!!
Well done...????

Very good ! Grass fed beef is the only that has any flavour. Grain fed is not great.
Also happy with that as striploins one of my favourite cuts.

I find the "Cape Verde, New Zealand" location a little confusing.
Those 2 countries are about as far apart as it's possible to be, and I cant' find a place name like that in NZ.
Yeah not sure about the Cape Verde thing, maybe due to me doing the Google translate!
Maybe there's a lurking Kiwi here that can enlighten us?

That's pretty good for striploin.

I always feel that the steak here is too tough and not worth it... whereas at my local farm shop for 180 baht I can get a really tender filet... always good.
You mean restaurant steak?

So these NZ cuts look a good deal, will have a look at Villa later to compare.
PM if anyone wants to know the place selling it and other stuff (nothing to do with me!)
-
Not sure how long this will be allowed on here if at all but worth a shot, probably only worth those living in Phuket to post..
Anyway what do ya think of the below deal, worth it or not?
New Zealand Ribeye Grass Fed
Ribeye Beef, Cape Verde, New Zealand
Size : 3+ KG/ piece

With the reputation Phuket has for scamming, you could see tourists choose more honest destinations when they return to Global holiday travel. After all they have the whole World to pick from.
So no different to pre-covid? When did tourist that come here not have the choice of an "honest destination" or "whole world to pick from"?

Oil spill hits Phuket beaches

It's been happening for years, especially at Kata Noi, not in the least uncommon after storms to find it on the soles of your feet, on your board, balls of it on the beach, I normally use WD40 type spray and a scouring pad to remove it, horrible stuff.
Also, think it's more do to with passing ships, squid boats etc flushing their bilges.
