  1. From the founder of Zionism Theodore Herzl in 1897

Zionism is not just about a state - Zionism was not, historically, officially a movement to create a "Jewish State." The first Zionist congress in Basle, Switzerland, in 1897 resolved:

Zionism seeks to establish a home for the Jewish people in Palestine secured under public law.

Zionism itself is creating a huge divide in the Jewish people. It is a political ideal and has no place in the religious ideal.

This is old news and splitting frizzy hairs, dude. Over 90 percent of Jews in the world fully support the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state. That doesn't mean supporting every policy of the current government of Israel as I'm pretty sure the majority of global Jews are against the West Bank settlement policy.

Israelis do generally say Jewish state, not Zionist state, but keep in mind most Israelis even the liberal ones are most definitely Zionists!

    Not Zionist state!

Many prominent Zionists are not even Jewish. So definitely not a religion.

  2. Yes have to admit it is funny to watch......

Quite frankly I despair.............this country is on the cusp of having nuclear weapons and it is even closer to reverting back to a non democratic Islamic caliphate and you think it's funny.

Did you pick up on the fact that the Saudi Arabians asked the Americans to bomb Iran as they are terrified of the implications of them having a nuclear bomb?

In fact. would you like to impress us all with your superb insight into the current geo-political state of the country?

Ah yes, our friend Saudi Arabia, that beacon of democracy in the Middle East! Anyone for a public beheading in the market square chaps? And yes Gentleman Jim, i'm afraid the Ministers are as dull and retarded as they seem. Especially Wee Willie Hague, an extremely inneffectual and silly little man.

  3. "There's two potential solutions, pour in US armed forces and make Mexico a martial controlled state, ( unlikely to be agreed ), or legalize the drug supply and take the profit out of the system. Money is at the root of all this, and there are plenty of psychos out there prepared to do anything for their gang."

Aint' working in Afganistan, didn't work in Iraq, didn't work in Haiti, didn't work in Somalia.

And of course The American Justice Department allowing The federal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Unit,(ATF) to secretly supply thousands of firearms to these cartels, ie "Operation Fast And Furious", firearms that have been traced to many of these slayings, including the murder of at least one American border guard, hasn't exactly helped the situation! Something that the Attorney General, Eric Holder is still desperately trying to cover up.Unbelievable hypocrisy and double standards from the Obama administration.

  4. Did you ever consider the possibility that you are not that important? smile.png I'm only half joking when I say this because this is something that I have to frequently tell myself. Most people are not going to even notice that you are not drinking. Of course you will sometimes get the suffering drunk who can't cope with the idea of other people without an alcoholic drink in their hand, but these are in the minority and they are easy to brush off. If you are worried about what people will think just say that you are on antibiotics.

If i was worried about what people will think i wouldnt say i was on antibiotics. Especially in this town!cowboy.gif

  5. What's the official version? How much more official you want when you already have Afghan MPs investigating the case and Karzai quoting witnesses?

Another official version is the insistence of the military and Obama himself that there was only one man involved.

As I said before - there are two parallel universes developing there, the likes of Russia and Veterans Today want to spin it their own way, that's for sure, but mainstream western media aren't any better. I doubt anyone cares that much for murdered children but both want to look good and proper and civilized.

Come to think of it, those trying to cover up a proper massacre by a dozen or so US soldiers are probably worse "friends" in the long run, but if that version makes one feel safe and full of trust - go ahead, everyone needs to lie to himself now and then, it's human nature.

Jumping in with RT and other assorted anti-Americans is a knee jerk response in the search for the same safety and belief that the world is just and fair, but it's a jump from the frying pan and into a fire.

So Veterans Today is an Anti American organization? Really? I suggest you look on their website and read 'About Us'. They are an independent, unaligned voice, accepting no financial support from any organization or individual'. ' Spanning the political spectrum we support the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic' Just because they don't take a gung ho warmongering stance does not make them Anti American.
  6. What if it was indeed the work of 15-20 soldiers?

There's no way the military will admit to that, so far it's been confined to the findings of Afghanis and news outlets like "Russia Today" so it's as good as it has never happened, but if these findings break out in the open and US media has no choice but to report them, what will happen then? Perhaps Al Jazeera and a couple of UK newspapers will start the crack in the information war, perhaps not, but if Karzai himself goes public it will be impossible to hide.

Even that highly critical blog linked on the previous page assumes it was one guy who went into two houses then collected the bodies and tried to burn them. Two houses two kilometers apart. That just doesn't compute.

Here is US veterans today's take on it. Very disturbing reading.

Just another politically motivated hit piece...

    Lifted from the link.

    HOLY WARRIORS OR HELLISH GHOULS?

Next we can ask, what kind of person does this? That I can clearly answer, this is the act of someone with strong religious and political beliefs. Years ago, initially Pentecostal and then broader Dominionist/Dispensationalist theologies under the broader term of “Christian Evangelism” has been behind the atrocities.

Some are tied to doomsday cults, others toward “racial cleansing” and more fall under the influence of politicians.

Those currently are Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

Previously, they were the entire Bush administration, which used communist “brainwashing” techniques on troops to encourage them to torture and kill as part of their patriotic and religious duty.

These messages were instilled during training and continually reinforced through televised psyop sessions on the Armed Forces Network and Pentagon Channel.

Such rhetoric has largely disappeared during the Obama administration with the exception of that which is normally part of the daily broadcasts on Fox News with its extremist pundits.

A predictable response i suppose. But given the logistics of the killings, do you honestly believe the official version of events? The alleged perpetrator/ Patsy, was certainly flown out very quickly. The Afghan government are complaining that American authorities are blocking their investigations every step of the way. Many eye witness reports of more than one soldier involved. Will they be flown to the US to give evidence at the trial of this guy? I doubt it somehow. Whether you like it or not, this article asks some very disturbing questions that should be answered. But i won't be holding my breath. Also, regarding your comment dismissing it as somehow politically motivated, Veterans Today is hardly Russia Today, or some whacko conspiracy website. For anyone with no axe to grind they should at least be listened to.

  8. I used to support the death penalty because it can, and will, send a strong message to deter criminals. Now I have to agree with the abolishment of the death penalty. Mainly because, death penalty has a chance of killing innocent lives. What I would like to see is harsher punishment being meted out. For example, if someone stole something, instead of jailing him for a few days and fining him, it will be better to chop off his hand. As for drug trafficker, chopping off the hands look better.

Very good to see we have some Islamist fundamentalists on this forum, with their support of Sharia Law! Fair play to you sir! Allah Akbar!
  9. yes but there is much evidence suggesting targeting of civilians by the israeli military using conventional weapons - to suggest that israel somehow has the moral high ground due to their use of high tech weaponary seems a bit off to me.I find it laughable that within one post containing a small criticism of israel there is already mention of anti semitism...if i voice the opinion that the us soldier who has just killed 16 civilians was wrong does this make me anti american? because US forces use smart weapons do they hold the moral ground in this conflict? or do said actions such as this undermine their credibility...this is exactly the point I am making RE israel and palestine

Yes, quite amazing how the Israelis manage to spin this. The palestinian rockets were in response to the Israeli killing an alleged Palestinian terrorist and a dozen more of his alleged mates, ie drivers, family members etc. Yet if anyone was reading the Western media one would think this was a retaliation from an unprovoked attack by Palestinion terrorists.Never mind that the Israelis started it, and then the Palestinians responded. Unbeilevable! Of course pointing out this obvious truth makes one an Anti Semite, or a holocaust denier. Bring on the Hasbara posters. By the way, what's the Hasbara going rate these days? Might be quite tempted myself!
  10. On the steps of the police station Mr Navalny promised that he would continue the protest until the end. No doubt he meant until the end of his US taxpayer welfare regime change payments! The Western media establishment is infatuated withMr Navalny. The BBC described him as "Arguably the only major opposition figure to emerge in Russia in the past five years". More relevent is the fact that Navalny went to the elite American East Coast Yale University, also home to the Bush family, where he was a "Yale World Fellow".Navalny however is also or has been on the payroll of Washington's regime destabilising National Endowment For Democracy, NED According to a posting on his own blog, LiveJournal, he was financed in 2007-2008 by the NED. The NED is also financing key parts of the Russian "Independent" polling and election monitoring, a crucial part of of being able to claim election fraud, They also finance The Regional Civic Organization In Defense Of Democratic Rights And Liberties."GOLOS". According to the GOLOS annual report the funds went to " Carry out a detailed analysis of the autumn 2010 and the spring 2011 election cycles in Russia, which will include press monitoring, monitoring of political agitation, activity of electoral commisions, and other aspects of the application of electoral legislation in the long term run up to the election". Imagine what would happen if Mr Putin was found to be funding the US Occupy Movement! The US State Department has called on Russia to investigate allegations of fraud. How strange they didn't want an investigation into the fraudulent election of GW Bush in 2000!

  11. As said 7 years for a car/pickup. But then comes a very stringent test at an authorised facility.

The do a rubbing of the vehicle id plate in the engine bay and then....

THEY COUNT THE WHEELS. (Serious stuff)

End of test. Pay your 200 thb and get your certificate.

NOTE, while 4 is the preferred number of wheels, other values can be made acceptable by a change in the amount paid.

You can then get your vehicle taxed for another year safe in the knowledge that it completely roadworthy. rolleyes.gif

Hahahahaha. So very true. I am sometimes open mouthed in wonder at the state of some of the vehicles i see driving around.

Truly disgusting footage of our new " Friends' in Libya desecrating war graves in a Christian cemetary. Yesterday more footage doing the rounds of black Libyans in zoo cages, with their hands tied behind their backs, being force fed the Libyan flag by these monsters who Nato installed, and who are now in charge. All of them shouting, ' Allah Akbar". Daily reports of black Libyans being raped or strung up on a daily basis. Thousands of Ghaddafi supporters being locked up and tortured. Of course not a peep out of Cameron, Sarkozy or Hillary Clinton. Mission accomplished! Time to move on to the next adventure!

There is no escaping this, to intervene to stop a humanitarian crisis is one thing, and collateral damage can unfortunately result from that. However, we knowingly put Islamic totalitarians in charge, many who were fresh from fighting against Nato in Iraq and Afghanistan. These actions amount to criminal negligence and treason to our own culture being the lapdog of the Muslim brotherhood in order to keep our Saudi friends sweet and maintain the phony dialog that you can get Islamists to moderate and embrace democracy if we do their fighting for them.

As should be clear now they despise us for our weakness and gullibility and always have done, shame on the idiots who allowed this to happen.

An excellent post which sums up the situation very well. And of course these Islamic totalitarians fresh from fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya have now moved on to Syria with the Wests aid and support. But no need to worry, they all become moderate Islamics when they run out of ammunition!
  13. Serbia is a nation run by criminals. A Greece waiting in the wings.

Admitting Poland and Rumania turned every job in the UK into a minimum wage job,

It seems the EU has declared economic war with its citizens.

These clowns should start looking a little more closely at the Occupy movement and the real causes of the Tottenham riots.

You are right. But the problem with these clowns is that they have learning difficulties. And they are only really concerned for the interests of their paymasters, the 1%.

  15. Most people working in so called pharmacies in Thailand hardly ever know about basic medicines beyond the name and often don't know anything more about them. They even have a very difficult time looking anything up in the PDR. They rarely if ever are familiar with generics and hardly ever are able to recommend alternatives. Most pharmacies in Thailand don't have proper air temperature control and most of them are bacteria prone.

Think of all the time that you've bought a simple over the counter type medication like benadryl. Watch the majority of Thai pharmacy workers take out that same old metal tray and pour a handful of those caps out of a large bottle. Then they reach into a box or drawer or just pick up from another part of the counter, the metal "separator" and then they start to count off your order. It never occurs to them that the same instruments have been used for days or weeks without ever cleaning them. Often you can see the fingerprints and often the customers pick up and/or touch these instruments. Then the pharmacist counts out money with the same hands going all day without ever washing, and then repeats the process again and again.

It's too bad that the Thais don't recognize that this is a "corruption and graft problem" as well as a stolen property probblem and not so much as a drug problem. If hospital workers and local regulators/officals/police/security weren't corruptible, you wouldn't have these false orders and diverted shipments and pickups. This is a case of "amateur" dealers bribing hospital officials/security and police. The professional dealers and narco drug rings would never need "hospital supply." Nor would they be so stupid to rely on weak links in the chain. They use their own network, their own labs, and their own bribed army and police.

It's also too bad that pseudoephedrine based medicine is being removed from the adult Thailand residents' portfolio of allergy and cold remedies. Thai pharmacies offer no effective alternative. As phenylephrine based remedies are virtually useless against powerful plant life and the polluted air around Thailand. With all the bacteria and pollution around Thailand, coughing without covering mouths, picking noses and rarely if ever washing hands, Thailand pharmacies should be well stocked with pseudoephedrine based medication like Actifed and Clarinase for adult allergy sufferers and colds.

Thailand is shifting the gangsterism from the amateur briber of hospital workers and local police to the hospital police at Bumrungrad who control most of the so called prescription required medications. Bumrungrad has a monopoly on many of the prescribed type 2 medicines in Thailand. It's virtually impossible to get a prescription for some medicines unless you go through a many visit procedure at Bumrungrad. It's a ripoff.

Absolute nonsense. My experience of pharmacy staff in Thailand is that they far more knowledgeable than their counterparts in the West. I have been here for ten years and always go to a pharmacist when i have an ailment, Most of them are extremely clued up as to what medication you need. Of course if you are a cheap charlie and go for the lowest common denominator, ie go to a chemist that pours a weeks supply of antibiotics or whatever into a bag, to save yourself 50 baht, up to you. It strikes me that you are one of these strange people who for some reason choose to live here, but never waste an opportunity to belittle Thailand. Very puzzling.
  16. 'Gullible', 'bait' wink.png I think you would have to have been living in a cave not to understand exactly the point I was making.

Sorry I thought you were having a laugh smile.png

After all it said in the article.....

An ISI commanding officer told The Sun: 'The Bibles were in English and we cannot be sure why they were there. These copies were found as we checked the rooms for the final time before demolishing the building.

Which basically sounds like they & gawd knows how many others had already been through the place...Then suddenly right before final inspect/demolition...Boom there it is 2 Bibles sitting there

Not to mention the website reporting it reads/looks like the National Enquirer with that whole Femail Section on the right side of the page smile.png

The website reporting it is The Daily Mail, a British tabloid newspaper famous for making up stories and for their support for the Nazi party in Germany in the 1930s / 1940s. What is really hilarious is that the Daily Mail is quoting The Sun, another tabloid not exactly known for the truthfulness of their reporting.
  17. What does the international press say about this absurd new fashion trend in Bangkok? There does not seem to be much on the Internet but I found this:

Hitler T-shirts are a Nazi trend for Thai youth

VILE T-shirts featuring cartoons of Nazi monster Adolf Hitler have become the latest fashion must-have in Thailand.

Boutiques in the capital Bangkok have begun selling the garments showing the dictator as a Teletubby, panda or Ronald McDonald.

The tops, costing between £4 and £7.50, have sparked outrage with visitors.

    Read more: http://www.thesun.co...Thai-youth.html

The Sun is a scumbag UK tabloid, same as The Daily Mail; they like to print and sensationalise stories like this as they appeal to the dumbarses who read their newspapers. It is pointless using this scab-sheet as representative of the international press.

Quite right. It always amuses me when people on here post links to the Daily Mail. It is of course famous for making up stories, and for their unwavering support for the Nazi Party in Germany in the 1930s - 1940s.

  18. As another poster said - these offenders are the reason many at home attach a stigma to any man who chooses to live in Thailand. My brother, now retired, was a DCI in the Met and during his career brought a number of these child molesters to book. He said paedophiles don`t see their behaviour as abnormal and will usually blame the child victim. It is an undeniable fact that many western paedophiles come to Thailand because it is easy for them to carry out their abusing here and it is often facilated, as in the OP case, by the mother. Reading some comments that appear on TV when these cases come to light I am of no doubt that paedophiles are among us on this forum. On a similar recent thread a poster, and he obviously wasn`t alone in his sentiments, said he felt sorry for the offender (a 65 year old man) because he couldn`t help himself and that some men prefer a younger partner. Well, a child is not a partner but an innocent who needs protecting from predators so that they can enjoy their childhood just as the vast majority of us were able to. I sincerely hope the police make a real effort to rid Thailand of this curse. The poster who lumped homosexuality and lesbianism in with phaedofilia - the gay people I know have relationships with consenting adults and find paedophiles as abhorrent as do straight people, but then abusers are always looking for endorsement for their vile activity.

A good post making some interesting points. I always find it a bit puzzling when people back home, in my case the UK, think that paedophiles come to Thailand because it is easier to pursue their habit here. In reality nothing could be further from the truth. Scarcely a day goes by without stories of paedophiles grooming children, raping them etc in the UK press. The catholic church has had a huge problem with paedophilia going back decades. Likewise childrens homes, anyone with these sordid interests just gets a job there and has virtual carte blanche to carry on with their activities. All highly organized with cover ups going right to the top of society. Likewise with prostitution, just about every town in the UK, from large cities to the smallest market towns now have brothels, usually posing as massage parlours. The vast majority staffed by victims of human trafficking, who are lured there, mainly from Eastern Europe, with promises of work as a waitress or something similar. They have their passports taken from them and are forced to service dozens of ' Punters' every week under the threat of violence. There was a report a while ago of these unfortunates being auctioned off on the concourse of Gatwick airport! And undoubtably the UK is not unique among Western countries for this sort of thing. In reality Thailand doesn't even come close.
