  1. Brilliant! thumbsup.gif

What happened ??? Chilieans in Chiang Mai ? rescued from where ??

In case you're not being facetious, plenty of information in Thaivisa's World News

No not being facitious had no idea that was going on

Good news in the news for once congrats to the rescuers job well done

  2. Personally, I find Spicy to be smelly, overly loud and the music boring. I've only gone there when ALREADY in the company of women who want to relax a bit after working all evening. The drinks are over priced and the whole scene is rather boring. The ONLY redeeming factor is there are not a lot of after hours disco drinking establishments nearby.

    Ian

Not sure what your drinking in Spice but the drinks are cheap as hel_l in there Beer 60 Baht jack coke 100baht I would not consider those prices over priced by any means.

One time I did get ripped off by a bird asking for a beer I asked what and she said Corona and that was 160 baht so you may be reffering to imported beers and the like which if your paying yep the girls will order.

    Never happened again :)

  3. well 2 retards thai construction workers tried to rob me last night in rassada. Must be the same guys.

I know where they live and have taken action to make sure they never have a decent night sleep before working their 12 hours a day in the sun.

I find it really ridiculous to consider a natural plant in its natural state to be illegal if you think about it it really is dumb now if its processed someway OK but how can you make a tree illegal LOL

  4. Fools are born everyday. You just happen to know 2 of them.

If you pull a lady of the night, you never take them back to your room. They deserve all they get.

    That's a bit harsh.

I have heard some bad rumours about Spicy and I would not venture there myself.

There is no problem with bringing a girl back to your room if you use common sense and take precautions, other then condoms I mean.

If you intend to bring a lady of the night back to your room, no 1: place all your valuables in the hotel or guesthouse safe before you go out on the pull if they have one. Otherwise, hide your passport and other important items under the mattress before you go out and lock your room as you leave. Later if you score and the broad is in the room, keep her in your sights at all times. If you need to use the loo, make it quick not giving the lady time to search your room for valuables.

But the no 1 option is the best. No problems here at all if you play it safe.

How come you have a picture of me missus

  5. Could the op give some google search words that would narrow down the possibilities? I think I know who you are referring to but not 100%.

You can PM him if you want the name.

I was thinking more of the many unregistered forum readers who can't pm the op but would like to know who to avoid, and I imagine google search avoids Thailand's defamation laws.

    Just received info - thanks.

I might pop in and annoy them. I enjoy annoying charlatans.

I thought I saw somewhere that TV mods were gong to come out with a standing on this sort of thing did i miss it

Its ridiculous that on a community forum that obvious schisters cant be named and shamed to warn TV members not to use them

  6. Can't answer your first question but can answer the second one.

Just a month ago I went to the Thai consulate in Amsterdam to get a new multiple non-O visa.

    Had the following docs.

The application form (downloaded from their website)

    2 Passport sized photos

Copy of marriage certificate, make sure it's translated into either Dutch or English and a copy of my wife's ID card

    Confirmed flight booking

I did not have my marriage certificate translated but the friendly lady at the desk accepted it with the note to have it translated for future application.

Applied on Thursday and collected it on Monday

Opened from 1000 to 1300 weekdays

    Goodluck

Do you need the (Thai) marriage certificate or the (Thai) marriage registration paper?

I am little confused about this.

    I have copies of both.

I am going to apply for this visa early next year in Amsterdam. How is the service?

Why the need for a ticket? Can it be one-way?

I got a multiple O from Amsterdam in about 10 minutes its was real easy all I had to give was a copy of my rental agreement in english i did tell them I had a thai daughter but did not have her birth certificate translated into english so i could not get it on that basis but she took it anyway as part of my application.

    Easy

  7. Quote DK"just finished a Chicken Tikka Masala which I got from rimping for 135 baht

Since there was no instruction on heating I remember seeing it posted here so I looked it up and the instructions were 2 minutes on high leave for 1 minute and then 1 or 2 minutes more. NOW i must have a crap microwave cause from frozen solid it was at least 6 minutes and probably could of done with a minute more." Quote DK

I had the same result. It seems to need about six minutes. I think you're supposed to stir it up a bit during the 1 minute break. I find it best for the last two minutes to turn the meat part into a bowl and cook until you see its bubbling hot. Dangerous to eat cool bits in the center. The rice doesn't need so long otherwise it gets solid.

The pies are a bit of a problem too. It might even be best to defrost by taking it out of the feeezer the day before and leaving it in the fridge ovenight. We don't seem to have a resident TV cook to turn to.

Yes I tend to agree the rice was ready way before the curry was and 6 minutes looks about right from frozen although I like it piping hot so i would go 7

Also one other thing I thought it was a bit watery not sure if that is from the defrosting will have to check some of the others to see if its the defrosting or the right consistency for the sauce.

As for defrosting I dont plan that far ahead so i like to take it right out from the freezer and go, I think SK's instructions would work fine if cooked from a defrosted state.

  8. I just finished a Chicken Tikka Masala which I got from rimping for 135 baht

Now because I have a healthy appetite I initially thought that it would not be big enough as it looked like a snack size but it was sufficient

Since there was no instruction on heating I remember seeing it posted here so I looked it up and the instructions were 2 minutes on high leave for 1 minute and then 1 or 2 minutes more. NOW i must have a crap microwave cause from frozen solid it was at least 6 minutes and probably could of done with a minute more.

As for the taste it was very tasty and I quite enjoyed it but not spicy enough for me I'll be going for the Vindaloo next time unless he has a Faal

  9. get her into English language cartoons and make English fun for her....get her away from Thai TV as much as possible...even video games will help...watch and play with her...keep on it...

meanwhile get her schoolbooks and get her to help you learn Thai....it really isn't that hard

Already got that covered 3 tvs in the house one english only and one for thai tv (she is not allwed to watch that one) and she has her own tv with a full array of thai and english cartoon dvds plus we spend a lot of time on you tube for the hard to get cartoons and nursery rhymes :)

LOL its me who is the problem but I will try harder not to talk to her like I talk to the missus and the rest of the familly LOL

  10. Does anyone remember the 15 Cent hamburger and 10 Cent Fry's?

    History of Mc D's

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_McDonald's

Trying to see how many old geezers there are on here? My older sister's first job was with McD's and I used to go visit her and get the 15 cent burger and fries. Here's another write up http://www.livinghis...0s/life_16.html .

Don't want to divulge ones age but I remember when there was NO Mc D's.:whistling:

WOW over 70 years old your doing well there old timer :)

  11. I live with my Thai familly and with the exception of the wife no one else speaks any english so I am constantly talking like an idiot in broken pigeon thai english, the thing that is annoying me is I do it to my 2 1/2 year old daughter too which I am trying to stop as I hoefully want her to actually be able to speak good english but its not easy.

Anyone else catch themselves talking like an idiot to there infant child.

  12. I think it was a hit and run statement from teacherwoe but nevertheless being a kinda anal parent that understands abuse can come from the most unsuspected place I decided to ask my daughter a few choice questions about the school and the teachers so I asked her if her teachers were nice she nodded with a big smile on her face and then I asked her if the teacher hit her or if she sees them hitting any other kids her answer with a slight look of shock on her face NO daddy they no hit (in her broken english)

She knows very well even at almost 3 that I don't condone anyone using physical violence to punish anyone and knows to tell me and I believe she would tell me.

It did make me realize that even though I dont think the post was truthful its still worth keeping an open mind and not discount it 100% I guess its always possible,

Nothing in my mind is changed with regards to the school I still think sits a great little pre school.

  13. I over heard some bar owners talking of putting on extra sheep and moose.:whistling:

And FREE Wellies for all Aussies

    DK

Reminds me of the quip by Piggy Muldoon whilst Prime Minister of New Zealand when asked to comment about the movement of New Zealanders to Australia, he suggested that this was no bad thing as the movement "raised the average IQ of both countries".

Mamborobert - perhaps this is the correct Aussie response B):

A Kiwi farmer is staggering home extremely drunk.

Under his right arm is an unusually attractive sheep.

As he lurches towards the door of his house --- it is flung open by his enraged wife.

He stares at her through bloodshot eyes and he says "Honey.... I want you to meet the pig I sleep with when you have a headache"

Further enraged his wife yells "You drunken fool --- can't you even see ... that is a sheep??"

Looking at her with dismay he replies "Wasn't talking to you!!"

Only an Aussie could refer to a sheep as attractive lo :D
