Requirements for October?
couchpotato replied to Deserted's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You keep asking the same question, and people have answered. There is no Thai Pass required. There are no 'covid related' tests or vaccination papers/certificates required. As for insurance, then you need to tell us what Visa you are entering on. (I believe OA may require this, but I'll let another expert answer that). -

Don't need anything 'covid/vaccination' related. Only Passport, and possibly need to show Boarding card (as TM6 has been discontinued for now). -
If you cancel your AIS number, then probably the SIM data is gone, so just copy all your SIM contact numbers etc onto your phone memory before you cancel, then you can copy back to your Aussie SIM, or any other SIM you might acquire in the future. I have been doing this for years.

Jomtien Immigration - holy <deleted>, busier than pre-Covid 3 years ago!

From OP.....All full of white folks. Not really any Asians, blacks, Arabs or Indians. With remarks like that, you shouldn't really be posting. I won't use the "r" word, but I would say most of us here are unprejudiced.....keep that in mind. -
A 'pretend Thai'....haven't heard that before...interesting analogy.

Its a Govt website. If you think its dodgy (even after a poster has given you the correct information), then I suggest you go to the IO in your area and do it manually (unless of course the Officers also look dodgy).????

Worst Joke Ever 2025
couchpotato replied to warfie's topic in Jokes - Puzzles and Riddles - Make My Day!
I hear Liz Truss has been offered refuge at Harry and Megan's house in California. -
I think you mean 18,000 and 30,000 baht. But to correct you, gold about 18 months ago was approx 24,000-25,000 baht.

How dare you post that a years salary is a realistic compensation for the loss of a child......so callous. .

Great word--very descriptive (and appropriate)

The people that post about opening a bank account with Pink ID only, are lying or wishful thinking. For anyone on any type of Visa/extension, passport is definitely required. Pink ID card has name in thai script only, not acceptable to open the account.

Retirement visa/extension, the small print
couchpotato replied to L0St's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are very wrong here. There definitely is an issue with this agent method and then switching (at Jomtien anyway). Was at Jomtien IO 2 weeks ago getting re-entry. Big kerfuffle with one guy at Retirement desk, as he had gone the agent method (agents funds) last time, and now couldn't show the yearly required funds in bank (especially the 3mth/2mths). He argued (very loudly for all to hear) that the IO had been given money from the agent last year to facilitate his extension, so they must give him his new extension. Two officers came from upstairs and escorted him outside. -
Electric water heater for shower. Copper or Plastic?
couchpotato replied to srowndedbyh2o's topic in DIY Forum
For normal city water supply, the copper would be preferred for longevity. But for well water, plastic would be a better choice, to eliminate possible corrosion later. (I personally have both types of water, and this has been my preferred method for many many years).. -
You need to obtain the yellow House registration booklet first (without it, no Pink ID card). Then the Pink Card will be issued to you at your local Tessaban.
