I think it is about time someone to forward the link of this thread to some mainstream newspaper(s). Real circus. Browser hacking, pdf/image conversions/manipulations, covid certificate "enhancements"...not even to get a visa, just to be OKed to enter Thailand ????

Is the covid coverage mentioned in the policy? This is what you can do: * convert your 4 page schedule to image files * find in the policy the page where covid coverage is mentioned and convert to image file * concatenate the 5 image files (4 x schedule, 1 x covid from policy) into a single image and upload.

My nephew lives in London, paid 1 mil pounds for a house a month ago. He is getting now some insane quotes to fix some things with the house. Not a mansion, just a 140sqm suburban house in a good area.

There can't be any comparison between Thailand and Canada...the Canadian summer is 1 week, the Thai summer is 52 weeks... I have a friend who used to live in Edmonton(Deadmonton), I can't figure out how anyone voluntarily would go and live there.

To all people who got rejected - there is another communication channel to argue your case. If you have LINE installed, go to the ThaiConsular LINE account https://line.me/R/ti/p/%40thaiconsular and chat with them. They have also a FB Messenger channel, links at https://consular.mfa.go.th , the upper right corner. I notified them today for the CORS issues, and they also got my name, passport number and email to have a look what is happening (although I told them already my application is submitted OK). You may, or may not get a reply, but there is nothing to lose. The system has some rough edges, if they want our business they need to improve it and assist us. Maybe we need to flood them with complaints there to get the things moving in the right direction.

What I also find odd is that there is no clear back channel to the assessment people, so in case people get rejected they can argue their case and provide extra supporting documents if needed. My CoE in January got rejected initially, but it was sorted out with the embassy in less than24 hours. For example I have an EU digital covid certificate which I got with my EU ID papers, but I'm in Thailand on my Australian passport, my reentry permit is there, and my insurance lists the Australian passport number. There was no way to get vaccinated in EU with an Australian passport. To make things more complicated I have a middle name in my EU papers but not in my Australian passport. But all in all all my paperwork is valid and I have 2 Pfizer shots! There are also the cases of people who got vaccinated in countries where they are not citizens or residents, I know at least a few who flew to the US, got vaccinated and continued to Europe. What is the chance of them getting amended US covid certificates which include the numbers of their EU passports....pretty low I think.

Looks like lack of forward thinking and coordination. It seems one does need the 2 certificates issued, one for the first dose, and the second, the completed green certificate. Most of the people travelling within Europe use only the green one, they do need both, as the dates for the doses are on the different certificates.

Some FB users report no issues with the EU Digital covid certificate, so like everything else it looks quite random. I guess we'll soon find out.

The fact that the users can control how the app behaves just by adding blanks around is worrying. It indicates that basic input checks are not done. Hopefully that's not an indication of the overall quality, otherwise they may have security issues sooner than later.

This may work for a few people in the beginning, but eventually someone will notice that these passport numbers are not all in the same place if it gets more widely used.

I did attach 2 certificates, one is the "incomplete" after the first dose (has the first dose date), the second is the green certificate for completed 2 shots. Hopefully it would work. What a mess.

Do they give you an email for clarification or you got just a plain rejection? Most of the covid certificates won't have a passport number, in many countries only a fraction of the people have a passport.

Hmmm..not a very good idea to add real numbers like "00" to your passport number. You can just put a blank (hit the spacebar) after the passport number. Any properly coded app should strip the blanks before the first and after the last characters of the passport number, but this thankfully is not properly done, otherwise we need to contact them for manual cleanup. Hopefully you won't have problems at the Thai border.

I'm flying on 11th, but FB users are reporting they already got the pass QR code today.

"421 – Your message was temporarily deferred by the recipient server. This is usually a result of too many connections in a short timeframe or too many messages." Did you receive a confirmation email? 421 is a SMTP server message suggesting there are too many emails in the queue. Wait for an hour or two, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do receive it it means your submission should be OK.

Asymptomatic Covid cover is not needed for entry purposes.

I submitted successfully now the application and received a confirmation email. Here is what I did...but as the app breaks here and there it is not guaranteed it would work for everyone???? I tried tens of times with Firefox and Chrome (without VPN and with US terminated VPN) and was getting the same API error. Looked here and at various FB forums, and someone mentioned cross origin issues (I think "Triglav"? ) and I decided to have a look. Delved into the Chrome DevTools and there were heaps of CORS blocks. Next step I installed the "Allow CORS" extension for Chrome, enabled the plugin, restarted Chrome, filled in everything again and resubmitted. No API error this time, but a "duplicate passport number". Went back a few pages, put a blank after the passport number, uploaded again my insurance info (removes the uploaded file every time on failure) and resubmitted again. Success! Got a confirmation email as well. This could be a nightmare for a non-techie 70+ years old retiree, so was having a chat with ThaiConsular on LINE, and strongly suggested that they add a support link on the front page where the users can submit either a web form or get a support email where they can report errors. Hopefully they'll listen. The whole thing looks worse than an undergraduate computer science project, especially the user interface. Hopefully it gets fixed sooner than later.

Some people on FB received QR codes already, so it could be shorter than 5 business days. Good hack with the space...did you add it in the front or the back?

There are various people on FB reporting success after getting the API error. At this moment it all looks random...it could be a piece of information which block the process. In any case it looks like poorly written and documented application. From what I've seen the vaccine info seems to be vague...maybe the info there triggers errors. Also: "The certificate of vaccination should include your personal information for identification such as your full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and vaccination details." The EU digital covid certificate doesn't include nationality or passport number...In fact people are not required to have passports to be vaccinated. Don't know how they would handle this.

This is not likely a browser error, looks like a backend error.

I got to the last page ("Submit") and I'm getting API server errors. From what I've seen so far it looks like an epic failure in system design. Most of the document providers (vaccination certificate, SHABA confirmations, insurance policies) provide the documents in pdf format, the system designers have no idea what they are doing...asking the average tourist to do pdf to image conversions, and with multi page documents possibly concatenate images. Once the word spreads nobody will book a holiday in Thailand.

That's doable, but I doubt the ordinary 2 weeks tourist can do the image concatenations.

Did you get a code to check the status of your pass online? The old COE system had 6 digit access code for online checks. Email is not a 100% reliable method of communication.

Some of us have flights soon. They have shut down the old CoE system in the past week or so, any application problems now hopefully shouldn't last long...otherwise I have to rebook everything.
