I recommend the bokashi fertilizer from Organic Totto.  25kg sack for 350 plus delivery.

I use this in combination with vermicompost from Biosurge Thailand, now merged with Best Garden State (on FB)

Organic Fertilizer Worm Winner Vermicompost from Thailand (biosurgethailand.com)

BGS has two or three COF blends (complete organic fertilizer). I would trust the quality, but they don't list the ingredients and I haven't used their COF products myself.

Also consider inoculation with beneficial soil micro-organisms from SV Biotech/ Grotech, they have a product called Mycortech Biostimulant.  I haven't used it but its along the lines of other soil biology inoculants that I have used for soil improvment.

This new generation soil fertility enhancement plus mulching and good water management is the best way to go in my opinion, for optimum plant health, nutrient density, flowers, color, fragrance, taste and productivity .

Avoid outdated products and practices, high NPK, high salts chemical fertilizers that are still being promoted by ag shops, advisors and growers who are not up to date with modern best management practices.

Thank you very much for your advice. Will try those.

I had the second Moderna vaccine at Medpark yesterday, 3 months after the first. From entering to leaving the hospital it was less than 15 minutes with no requirements to sit for 20 minutes post vaccination as was the case the previous 3 times.  As always superbly organised.

These Moderna jabs at Medpark, etc., are free? I've had 3 Pfizer jabs, and following new U.S. CDC guidance, will be looking to get a 2nd booster in the next few months. Unsure what interval should be.

For a year or so I can't log in to my Vanguard Brokerage account from Thailand without a VPN.

I feel comfortable using a VPN because of the 2 factor authentication I set up.  Who told you that you can't use a Thai number to receive the one time passcode? not true.

If you don't want to use a VPN, call them everytime to log in or switch to Schwab.

Is the Thai number you use the number registered with your account? Or how did you set it up? I also asked to change my US number to Thai number so I could receive codes, etc., but Vanguard customer service said you cannot register an overseas number. They also told me not to use a VPN to log on as that may cause problems.

    Thanks.

You use your username and password then receive a separate one-time authorization code entered in the prompt.

    Have you tried the app?

So the code is an added layer of protection. It doesn't help me since my problem is the system does not accept my username and password to begin with.

    Thanks.

I don't log into my Vanguard account as often as before. I am not worried as Vanguard sends me a one time passcode on my Thai phone number every time I attempt to log in.

You should really try Schwab international brokerage account, it can be opened with your Thai address and Thai phone number.

How did you set up having Vanguard send you passcode on Thai number? And did you do that because you had the very same log-in problem as I do? By passcode you mean the log-in password after inputting username? They told me that only way to fix my lockout was to phone them every time I wanted to log in and they reset password or security questions.

They've also told me previously they cannot register overseas numbers, must be U.S.

    Thanks.

  6. I called Vanguard against last night, and they said the system is not accepting my login because Thailand is a "restricted" country and the only way for customers here to login is to call them every time and they generate a new password and reset security questions. But that can't be right because some people just on this thread said they have no problem logging in.

Anyway, now I cannot log in even with new password and security questions reset. Issue is being sent to tech support and I will hear back next week.

Now wondering if it's a system-wide thing with login from Thailand, or glitch only with my account and or computer/connnection, etc.

So you were previously able to access this account from Thailand, then bam, something changed and then you couldn't?

    Is that correct?

Maybe try the mobile app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vanguard&hl=en&gl=US

Very odd situation, in that you can log in once then you can't the next time.

So the second time you're using the previously issued temporary password?

You're using the same username each time?

Maybe get another temporary password, then reset the password yourself?

Do you have any two-factor authentication set? email, SMS, security key?

    https://investor.vanguard.com/security-center

I have had this problem off and on over the years that I've been in Thailand. Then it was okay for several months and recently re-started.

I can't use mobile app because I can't use a smartphone (eyestrain problem).

Re trying to log in second time, I have done both: used the temporary password (it's good for 24 hrs), and changed the temporary password. Results the same.

  8. When I input my username and password, I get a screen that says they are incorrect. Happened several times in past month. I called Vanguard and they said this is common problem from Thailand due to security or Internet issue (explanation was unclear). Each time they gave me new temp password or reset my security questions and I could then access account. But then the same lockout (your username or password is incorrect) occurs the next time I try to log on. So only option now is to call them each time I want to log on -- not practical.

Anyone else having this problem and found a solution?

    Thanks.

BTW, I use two accounts for my extensions. An FD (600K) and a savings a/c (200k+). Same bank.

In hindsight think I should have just used one account fixed or saving.

I don't touch either for the year.

They come out of draw once a year to obtain extension.

Last year when I did Non-OA retirement extension at CW, the IO and her supervisor both questioned why I had the 800,000 split in 2 savings accounts and said next time I should use only one. I know these kinds of things sometimes depends on what IO you encounter. Anyway, I think I will use only one account now just in case.

Is it worth all that hassle. How much extra interest would you get? I just keep mine in a Krungsri account and get 0.9% interest on the 800k.

Is that a regular or special type of savings account at Krungsri? I don't recall the rate but mine at Bangkok Bank is much less than 0.9%. Even their 3-month fixed is only .375%.

    thanks.

You can use a fixed deposit account to apply for your extension of stay based upon retirement. It must be a account that allows withdrawal without delay or a penalty other than loss of interest.

Just to confirm -- The time to transfer the 800,000 from savings to fixed would be 3 months after the date I received the extension?

Immigration will check that it is an account that allows withdrawal without delay or penalty other than loss of interest?

The first pic is total amounts (5 servings) the second is per serving amounts (divide first pic amounts by 5)

So the front label is what you'd get if you drank the entire carton (which in this case totals 5 servings), correct? Is it safe to say then that in all such products with front and back labels, the front  is entire product and the back is each serving?

I see the back label is percentages of recommended daily intake. I assume front label also uses the same measure?

  13. I've just done a 1-yr extension. As I understand it, bank balance requirements are the same as for Non-OA, which I previously had: 800,000 in bank for 3 months after extension, then 400,000b, then 800,000 for 2 months prior to the next extension -- is that correct? That leaves 400,000 free for 7 months of the year. I currently have the 800,000 in a saving account. If I don't need the 400,000 for living expenses, is it reasonable to put it in say, a 6-month fixed account (making a little bit more interest) and then transferring it back to the savings account 2 months prior to next extension date? Or transfer the entire 800,000 into a one-year fixed account 3 months after extension? Thank you for our advice.

Passport photo page, visa, entry stamp, extension stamp if any and TM6 departure card. Some offices may want a copy of every page that has a visa or stamp for Thailand on it.

Bank book first page and pages showing the 800k baht for 2 months.

Only original of the bank letter.

House book page one and the page that owner is shown on, a copy of their ID card and both will need to be signed by them. If renting you will also need a copy of your rental agreement.

Original TM7 form with the 4 X 6 cm photo attached.

Copy of most recent 90 day report receipt may be needed at some offices.

I just got 1-yr extension of 90-day Non-O (retirement) visa at CW and they did not ask for house book, owner ID or rental agreement. Those items were not asked for either when I applied for the visa. I did hand over the rental agreement in visa application, though I don't know if it was required. Only thing in addition to ubonjoe's list above for the 1-yr extension is a hand-drawn map of house location.

Are these the same documents required if you are getting a 1-year extension from a 90-day Non-O (retirement) visa, as opposed renewal of a 1-year extension? I got the 90-day visa after entering visa exempt. Thank you.
