  1. RIP to all the unfortunate people who have lost their lives, and my genuine sympathies to the families who are left behind to suffer the grief caused.

Whenever will any Thai government address this issue of daily carnage on the roads of Thailand and start to put some kind of value on human life.Sickening.

  2. If the whole of farang wealth and business pulled the plug and went home,Thailand would truly be up the Chao Phraya without a paddle.First let's take all the vehicles on the road, mostly Japanese car and motorcycle makers. Then all the USA fast food businesses throughout the country, this is without mentioning the trillions of baht tied up in farang property, plus all the trillions farangs have tied up in Thai banks and stocks and shares.Do i need to go any further?

  3. Only 2.65 % of Thai population pay taxes. Thats why middle class Thais have a lot of money. In europe they take all our money in taxes and fees, so we end with a low middle class.

But we get state pensions at 65 for the rest of our lives. We also get our rent or mortgage paid if we are unable to work through unemployment or through sickness.Even if we are able to work but don't earn too much we get working tax credits to supplement our income. We get family allowance for each child until they're 18 if they choose to go to college.

Now Answer yourself one question, does all or any of the the above benefits apply to Thai citizens ?

I'm not saying the people who work for the Thai government are tight, but if they had an arseful of piles or bottom grapes, they would want to charge their citizens to extract them.

  4. Many years there once existed a lady in Thailand who used to circumcise boys, and collect the little pieces of skin. Now when she had enough pieces of skin she would make magic womans purses or Mens wallets with them.

Why i can hear you all ask were they magic? They were indeed magic because if you rubbed the purses or wallets up and down they turned into suitcases.

  5. Be careful, I last done the journey on my motorbikea few years back, and unless anythings changed,it's not an all together brilliant road, with many twists and turns, but well worth a visit.Very very chilled.

  6. 1) Yes it's addictive, tried many times to give it up but after 27 years we're stuck like glue.

    2) I only go back to visit my family and yes it bothers me, not my family, going back,so no i certainly don't celebrate it.

    3) Like the lovely old song ''If i had my life to live over,I'd do the same things again,I'd still like to roam,to a place i call home, where my happiness never would end'' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q7QQ_22qTM

    Hope this answers your question.

  7. Always a good idea.My daughter was born in the Uk to my first Thai wife of 24 years, but has a Thai birth certificate and Thai passport and is on my 2nd Thai wife's tabian Baan.I cannot own land here except going down the owning a company and paying taxes for the privilege route. So i can get my daughter to buy whatever land or houses i want in her name, she will always fly back here if I need to sell them and i don't need to will them to her as they're already in her name.

This is quite similar to lovely Yingluck being in charge, but someone else pulling the strings from another country.

    Where there's a will there's a way.
