  1. Hi

Could anyone please tell me whether or not,the pound sterling equivalent of 400k baht approx 8k sterling in a siam commercial bank foreign deposit account, be acceptable to my local immigration office, as proof of sufficent funds for a marriage visa,or would it have to be converted into Thai baht and deposited into my Thai baht bank account?

I'm just loathe to convert it in case the baht takes a dip, whereby if it did i could then convert pounds to baht. Many thanks.

  2. It's a tragedy for sure. It's a shame so called Thai netizens don't put a great deal more pressure on their government and police force to raise and enforce safety rules for all kinds of transport in this country. Behind each bus/minivan/car/motorcycle accident are the very same family tragedies. A plane falling out of the sky shouldn't be any less thought provoking for the public than a bus crashing into a ravine, and yet it just happens time and time again.

R.I.P. all those whose deaths are caused by the negligence of others.

Yes have to agree with Mr Toad it's a top post.

Why is it in this beautiful country, that human life is simply not worth a toss, and as cheap as chips?A country where money rules the roost, and the issue of accident prevention is obviously thought of by the government as a massive inconvenience, and so gets swept under the carpet.Shame on the Thai government for being so irresponsible.

  3. There could be a simple reason such as dust, bits of old crisp, general debris stuck under the key (it was in my case). You can soon see, just gently lift the key up with a small screwdriver blade and blow/dust with a brush. Don't lever the key up too much otherwise it'll pop off. If it does don't panic - it just pops back on but be prepared for some annoying time wasting while you fiddle around with it.

If this doesn't cure it OK, time to take it to the repairers in Icon Square or similar, but you haven't lost anything but a bit of time. And if it works you've saved yourself a few baht.

Good advice. This happened on my dell laptop, couldn't press the key fully down and so wouldn't write the character on the screen.Popped it off and lo and behold a small piece of debris had trapped itself under the key, cleared it and popped the key back on.That'll teach me for snacking when i'm on my laptop.
