  1. Now they are tearing down the taxi salas (Story on Phuketwan). I like the way things are done at the moment.

Around 0900 today, many of the salas in Kamala had been abandoned.

Looks like they haven't gotten to Rawai yet. Just drove along the beachfront and the sala across from Nikitas was going strong as was the sala in front of the family mart on the beach road where the taxis took all the car parking in the public parking spaces. Local boss has been known to accept a bob or two to look the other way, but allowing parking in public spaces, directly in front of family mart, is pushing it.

Please let me know when they get rid of that load of Scum.It was one of those aggressive ****s who punched me in the face when I sounded my horn to stop him hitting my car.

I will have a few beers when they get rid of all these pea brained morons

  2. My school's managment just emailed all parents to cancel school tomorrow.

Why? School hours are outside of curfew times.

As if they are not thick enough here already.Give em another day off to get under peoples feet in the supermarket.

  3. So they are only going to fingerprint foreigners not Thai's?

Oh that's right they already know most of the crims in Thailand and have warrants for them but can not bother doing anything about it.That would mean upsetting someone and actually getting off their a-ses and doing what they are paid for.Much easier to let a machine do the work but then they have got to find someone with any sense to operate it.

Bound to turn into a shambolic mess as usual

  4. Just been back to Phuket for the first time in a while.Took two mates and their wives over as they had never been before.Tried to talk them out of it but they insisted. on going.

First day rained so much that the truck go stuck in half a meter of of mud and crap on the back road by Patong hospital.Never seen such a mess in all my life.

Finally got to the hotel after about 3 hours of traffic chaos, sitting having a well deserved beer we witnessed the farang hotel owned having to pay off the tourist police for their services ??.

Headed off to Phuket town the next day via Patong to be greeted with a 2 1/2 hour sit in traffic because of an another accident on the hill then an hour at central.

The place is a complete joke.I pity these people who spend their hard earned money on a holiday to end up spending half their time sitting in traffic jams.

By this time we had all had enough so sat in traffic for another 2 hours to get out of the hell hole.

    The positive news is that.

That is six people who have vowed never to return.

  5. OK lavender, I go every few weeks anyway for sausage, bacon and pies although if in the shopping mall I buy them from there as he has a fridge in there but limited stock. Not sure I would pay 180 TBH as I live 10 mins walk from S & S on 94 and although their portions arfe small I am not a big eater and so a curry and rice can be had for 100 Baht fresh but I will try it once.

As I said I have tried many curry places here and these curries are the only ones that taste like a good old British curry so I don't find that price too bad for the amount of chicken and lots of sauce. If you are a small eater you would probably get two servings from one.

  6. Lavender19, How much are the curries in Soi 41 please ?

Sorry did not take much notice of price as it was added to all my other items.I think around 180 but large portion and the naan about 40.I will try to find receipt but I think that went in the bin.I will probably be back for more soon so will let you know.

  7. After living here a long time I find myself bored with Thai food and being an Indian curryholic crave a good curry but unfortunately I have never found an Indian restaurant that is any good at British style Indian curry.

When I lived in Phuket there was a guy who made British style curry and they were spot on but I left Phuket months ago and I have not had a decent curry since.

Over the weekend I called into Hua Hin Ham and Bacon to stock up up on essentials and ---- me what did I find. They are now stocking a selection of British style Indian curries.

I have just had an awesome vindaloo and naan bread. If you are into your curry they are well worth a try.

I have heard many a time I can make a good curry but there is definitely an art to it it's not just the taste it's that smell.

You know what I mean if you like your curry

  8. I love Monday nights because it's quiz night at the Blue Lagoon in soi plaza. Google "quiz nights cha-am" wink.png

Mate of mine who has a bar in HH was talking about the Blue Lagoon the other week.My mate buys Indiand curries off a British guy some where here and he said the Blue lagoon was going to do a quiz and curry night?

If this is case it would be worth a drive up there.I love a good curry.

  9. “Traveling by car usually takes about an hour. In rush hour, it takes 90 minutes. But traveling by speedboat would take only 25 minutes, and by tour boat would be only 40 minutes,” he suggested.

I wonder if any of these people have actually asked a mariner how long it would take. The sea route would be almost 20 miles. Boats don't travel at the speed of taxis.

Well the way the traffic is going it will probably cut the travel by road time in half.

  10. Brilliant. Lets see the taxi muppets try and blockade a hydrofoil.

P.S. The last time I saw a hydrofoil around here it was parked on the bottom of Patong Bay after the tsunami.

It's Ok as long as it is within the Airport boundary but if outside you will still have to run the gauntlet of the taxi ********s to get to the pier.

  11. Bit pricey Angie at the place by Wine connection in Chalong, trained in Europe.Speaks excellent English and does a good job.All depends if you want to look like a dick or spend a bit of money.

    250 for a good haircut.

The Chalong Wine Connection is on Chaofa West, right? If so, roughly how far from Chalong circle is it?

    Thanks

That's a bit confusing. There is a Wine Connection in the Tesco/Swenson Shopping Center now. But the original Wine Connection is on Chao Fa East on the left about 5 KM? from the circle, according to my wife. I thought it was a bit less.

She is by the old wine connection where Woody had his sandwich shop it's about 2 k from circle.
