  1. No, 4 seconds is about right, according to Newton.
  2. Yes, the snail mail method of sending out voting papers can be a considerable problem. I received my Brexit voting paper just one day before the deadline - not long enough to return it, even by EMS. A proxy would work - if you have one that you can trust.
  3. Maybe, just maybe, tonight's forum maintenance will fix these issues. We shall see.
  4. Or just go away - somewhere, anywhere, just go!!
  5. That doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe Browser dependent? I use Brave. Anyway, I would like to see the 'clear notifications' and 'return to top' options restored.
  6. Yes, this is getting a bit irritating now. It's been a while and the number of notifications is piling up! The 'go to top of page' arrow still hasn't reappeared either.
  7. There are two shops that I know of on Threpprasit Rd., corner of Soi 8. SV Bike Shop - bought my Trek from there but quite long time ago. Numchai Bike Shop Reviews on Google seem to indicate that Numchai is friendlier and possibly cheaper. There are other bike shops dotted around town. Pull up Google Maps for locations.

  9. We are still missing the 'return to top of page' arrow. Also, still no way to delete notifications. Overall speed seem to be OK at the moment.
  10. City should be Banglamung Tambon should be Nongprue
  11. Nice to see the forum back up and running. A couple of things need attention, when you have the time: 1. The return to top of page arrow has gone missing again. 2. No option to delete notifications.
  12. NT-ToT supplied a fibre modem and a separate router. I don't use the router - prefer to use my own ASUS router. As MJCM said, if you go this route you need to set up userid and password on the router. They will provide this when doing the installation but you may need to ask.
  13. Wrong way round. GBP - THB was around 90 for a short while at the start of 1998.
  14. According to XE.com the low point was on October 12 2019 when the mid-market rate between GBP and THB was 37.05. The rate that you would have got buying THB would likely have been a bit lower, as is always the case, so 35 is quite likely. The chart that I have only goes back to 2013 so it is entirely possible that the rate was lower at some time before that. Apparently, the rate was around 25, sometime in the distant past.
  15. I can relate to that!
  16. Anyone else see a remarkable resemblance to a certain Swedish climate activist? Maybe they had those back in the 16th century too!
  17. Better sort out the infrastructure first.
  18. Also no way to clear notifications since the upgrade. This is actually more important than the issue with the shortcut arrow.
  19. 'Clear Notifications' has also disappeared.
  20. We seem to have lost the 'go to top of page' shortcut arrow. Can we have it back please!
  21. OK folks, here's an update. My problem is solved and the following info may be useful to anyone who has a similar issue. It's all a bit convoluted and I still don't understand some of it but here goes. Android 13, on the Samsung Galaxy A23, by default, randomizes the phone's MAC address - supposed to improve security. This would be no problem unless your router is set to filter MAC addresses, as mine is. Unless you disable this feature, every time that the phone reboots it presents a new MAC address to the router. In my case, trying to PING the phone from my laptop, the phone could not be found as it was, effectively, not connected to the LAN. What continues to puzzle me is that it could still get an internet connection. This is weird! Anyway, I disabled the random MAC feature, rejigged the router to use the phone's static MAC address and now everything seems to be OK. Not only does PING work but I can now connect to the phone using SSH (needed to regenerate the Hosts file). I like it this way as once the connection is made the phone just looks like another drive and I can transfer files with no problems. A lot faster than Bluetooth or by email attachment. So, maybe this will help someone. If not, it has at least taught me something.
  22. Thanks. I'll take a look.
  23. Well, Jomtien are certainly on the ball. My reminder was waiting in my In-Box when I booted up, this morning. Fired up the on-line reporting website and submitted. Immediate 'Success' - meaning that the data had been received. Approved in less than one hour. That's pretty good going.
  24. I disabled my firewall but, as you say, there may be others on the route. However, the strange thing is that I never had this problem with my A12 phone and the only thing that has changed is that I now have an A23 phone. It does have a different IP address but appropriate entries have been made in the laptop firewall and router to accommodate this - but this may be irrelevant as the problem persists with the firewall disabled. I think that the problem must be somewhere in the A23 Settings. This is rather annoying but not critical. I use SSH to transfer files from my phone to my laptop - or, at least, I did but this no longer works! I can transfer using Bluetooth or as email attachments with no issues but this is far less convenient than SSH. OK for the odd file but would be a right PITA for multiple files.
  25. IPV6 is disabled at my router. Not sure how to disable it on the phone - haven't found the option yet, probably buried several layers down in Settings.
