  1. I got the combi-brake version (all-black) as I think it was worth the extra 3K

I totally didn't catch that. I got the yellow one as I thought they all came with the same brake system. Just looked at their website again and now I see in small print the black model is the only one that has the 3-Pots Hydraulic Combined Brake System. D*mn it.

So what brake system did I end up with then??? Now I want to know.

    EDIT: Second Question

Anyone know where to get the yellow Honda Zoomer-X helmet? Everywhere I've checked has been out of stock with no idea when they will get anymore in...

You've still got the three pots, but without the combi-brake. Your front and rear brakes are not linked, that's all. What size Zoomer helmet do you need?

  2. The warranty is 5 years or 50,000 on the engine and 3 years or 30,000 for the frame and body. It is still under warranty. However, you need to call the Honda hotline and give them your name, and the warranty code on page three of the service booklet. Best of luck.

    Hi Brian

I know you do mainly Honda's but would a Kawasaki ER6N be the same way?

The bikes warranty is good till Oct 18th 2013 but Kawasaki in Pattaya says it does not transfer to new owner. That does not sound right all the bikes I sold (6) all transfered warrany when sold no problem.

Not that it needs anything , but I just want to know if Kawasaki is jerking my chain on this issue.

    Thanks

    Barry

Not sure how it works with Kawasaki big bikes. Let me check with the place I got my Versys from and see what they say.

  3. Actually i should have compared the vfr to the yamaha fjr1300@, i believe its slightly cheaper than the honda yeah? Did you consider it at all? Does the vfr include the touring boxes brian?

    Cheers

No, the touring boxes are extra. I remember talking to Yamaha about the Super Tenere and they said the boxes were included. As a Yamaha dealer, I could also get a 100,000 baht discount. Honda is pretty tight with the freebies and extras. I really want the VFR, so I don't mind paying more.

  4. The warranty is 5 years or 50,000 on the engine and 3 years or 30,000 for the frame and body. It is still under warranty. However, you need to call the Honda hotline and give them your name, and the warranty code on page three of the service booklet. Best of luck.

  5. brian congrats.

vfr1200 is dream bike of mine for touring!

it has modern tech, double clutch auto tranny and yes, it is like a spaceship of tourers.

I am sure you will not miss fireblade that much.

i will come and see you new bike once it is received.

Is vfr1200 also restricted by the way?

and please open a thread please for vfr1200 and share you xp there with us. thanks.

Thanks. No, it managed to pass emissions in unrestricted form. It has more HP and torque than the Fireblade too. Not sure how the VFR managed to pass. Perhaps the dual clutch and huge exhaust helped.

  6. Ordered the VFR yesterday. I should get it sometime in March.

    Congrats !

Your a bit of a kid in a candy store aren't you? wink.png

    You lucky boy smile.png

Thanks, I do have to give up the Fireblade though. They offered me 650,000 as a trade-in. I'll miss the Fireblade for sure, but I really can't complain.

  7. I think I'll get some use out of the stock tires until the rainy season starts. Then I'll swap them out for some Roso IIs. On another note, I'm thinking of trading in my Fireblade for a VFR.

you can change your fireblade with my cbr500 Brian:))

you have a perfect tourer versys already now so why another tourer vfr1200?

although it is a dream bike:)

The VFR will be my tourer and the Versys will be my urban assault vehicle. Perfect combination. We are going to be selling a lot of accessories for the new Honda 500s, so we still might get one to use as a show/display bike.

  8. It has been a week now with the Versys. I have been trying to ride it as much as possible. Mostly as a commuter from home to work though. It took some getting used to, but I am getting more and more confident on it every day. Going through traffic was a little tricky at first, but now split lanes just as easily as on my PCX. I love how you can just go right over potholes and speed bumps and barely feel them. I actually look forward to bad roads now. The launch from first seemed a bit weird at first, as I'm more used to riding my CBR 250 and 1000. I think I was just a bit intimidated by the height of the bike and was still getting a feel for the clutch. The acceleration is good and you can really feel the low and mid-range torque. I can't wait to tour on it.

  9. Just took the MSX for a quick spin. What a fun bike. Looks small, but doesn't feel that way when you are on it. I'm 6' and didn't feel cramped at all. Once into second gear it really takes off. It handles well and coasts right over bumps and potholes.

Here are a few pics of our MSX. Test rides available.

I notice you have gold wheels on that, is that standard? not seeing any pics on the net with gold wheels.

    But I NEED yellow sad.png
