  1. I'm a lightweight and would like a more sensitive suspension, by no means an uncomfortable suspension.

If I ask in the motorbikeshop for appropriate shocks, then they will sell me the same shocks for different needs.

For what specific shocks should I ask... ?

YSS shocks are a good option. Send me a PM if interested. Best of luck.

  2. Today is the release date of the cb500 right?

don't get your hopes up rolleyes.gif

What's wrong has there been some kind of delay?

Just like you, I am waiting for the release, but we don't hear anything from anyone.

The first batch of Rs have already been released, but still no update on the Fs.

  3. Anyone knows how long it takes to get a number plate here in thailand? At least red one temporary one. Dont feel like leaving bike anywhere withought a number plate. Also anyone considers buying any safety anti-theft things for the bike or installing alarm?

Cbr500 has 'hiss' system means to start the engine, you need specific set of keys given to you only.

  4. Yeah a 'real' 180 wouldn't be too surprising.

On your other point, I think it's normal for people to get a bit frustrated at the ridiculous prices for a decent bike here, especially as the extra money is mostly just 'luxury' tax. That's not the manufacturers fault per se although I do think they overprice the imports a bit as well bearing in mind that the likes of RedBaron can undercut them by over 100,000 baht on many models and still make a healthy profit.

You seem to be saying that people should just accept this, shut up and bend over - and if they air their frustrations then they are just a troll. Not really a fair assessment of the situation IMO.

Back to the CBR500, did anyone take advantage of the test rides last week. I was going to have a ride myself seeing as Big Wing is so close to my condo but I was ill with flu the last 4 days so I missed the chance. Be good to hear the thoughts of anyone who rode one.

I went by on Saturday for a test ride, but there were way too many people. Everyone who rode it seemed to like it though.

  5. Question :

I purchased a 2 week old Honda Wave 125i with 100 km on it (from the original dealer)

Now I have engine trouble and I am told second hand hondas have no warenty ? is this correct ?

The warranty is still good. You need call the AP Honda hotline, give them the warranty code from the front of the warranty/service booklet, and tell them you need to change the name of the owner. The number is 02 725 4000. Best of luck.

  6. Brian,

I don't suppose there is any news on the crf motard?

Also, what do you think about putting cbr wheels on it? 150 or 250? How much would it cost?

    Cheers.

    Mjj

Sorry, still no word on a CRF motard. I know X-Speed put some CBR 250 mags and tires on their CRF, but I'm not sure how it handles with them. If you ordered a new set of CBR 250 mags, it would be 7,200 baht. A set of stock IRCs would be 4,000 baht. Thanks.

  7. Well, my father's company also sells Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Vespa. So expect honest reports from me as well.

    hahahhs, funny really man!

But, i do not mean anything about this Brian, just it is an idiom, nothing else as i forgot your step father! sorry.

    No worries.

  8. What's a Huffy???

    sent from my Q6

    A brand of Bicycle

Mark Allen use to ride a carbon Huffy that cost over 10k USD to win the Ironman Kona multiple times...

Decades ago (1990-1993 I believe ) so maybe not the best example to use in this situation of

    inferring cheaply built?

I was thinking more the cheap Huffys I used to ride as a kid. Never knew they did high end bikes too.

  9. Marzocchi upside-down forks and Brembo brakes rotors are only good if they're mounted on a Ducati. The critics here will probably try to convince people that Honda brakes and suspension are better...

    :)

I will say I was surprised to see such components on a bike of this price.

These are not made by them so it shows they do have an eye to quality.

I am sure they could have easily made something themselves but chose to go with proven.

But If they see the advantage on these parts it may well extend onto other

sections of the bike as well. Whether sourced outside or built in house.

We will see when they have a few tests published.

I am interested to see how they turn out on the road.

I have said before competition is good for consumers ;)

But brembo also manufacture for example in india for duke 200 but it is a budget brembo. A super cheap one.

Like benelli, chinese might be producing them and re badging them as brembo?

You can put a Shimano gear and brake system on a Huffy, but it'll still be a Huffy.

  10. I was at the motorshow yesterday and went straight to the Honda booth.

I sat on the CB500F and it felt good. Had the feeling I was cheating on my current bike, but it felt so good. If all the reviews come out good, I will definitely get one.

Had a talk with one of the Honda guys.

He told me the red one will be available in January and the black one in February. But here I read people are getting them on December 11.

I only asked about the CB500F.

After the show, the only thing that will change are the intrest rates, they will go up.

And Loserlazer, the 3000 baht coupon was also for the 500 series.

They told me that I'd be getting it on the Dec. 10. If they are saying Jan. and Feb. now, it must mean the first lot bikes have already sold out.
