  1. Gosh so peaceful 65 years ago with only Rosa Parks in recent memory and lots of lynchings and inadequate men in white pointy hats. When people would impose their opinions and kill those who disagreed. Yes, the good old days....
  2. I give you 'iconic' which now seems to mean slightly unusual and also 'awesome' which used to mean terrifyingly shocking but now means quite good.
  3. Wow - all those billions spent on vaccines and all we had to do was stuff our nose into a lemon. Isn't science great....
  4. To complain you will need: - Several bottles of Lao Khow - Small sack of crystal meth - Some loaded handguns - A pick up Method: Ingest the Lao Khow and meth until very woozy. Jump in pick up and drive to noise source On arrival, fire guns randomly while shouting profanities. Soon you will hear no sounds whatsoever.
  5. Emergency room admissions diagnosis Ran out of cookies - 49% Cannot open peanut butter jar - 22% Can't find Rizlas - 12% Dark side of the moon scratched - 9% Left the meal cooking all night - 8%
  6. So that is one conviction. Arrests do not equal conviction. One from a period of 10 years - it does appear that the effort being put into it is about zero.
  7. The labour shortage is largely due to the number of British people 50-64 who have stopped becoming 'economically active' since covid. They could use the Albanians except of course, if they are claiming asylum they are not allowed to work until their claim is fully settled and those claims are being processed at a rate of 1.6 per officer per week. As a consequence of this deliberate under-staffing, claims are taking over 400 days. And while Sunak was whining on about how they have increased the number of officers by 500, he qualified it by saying that they would be in place by March 2023 i.e. they've only just started after the recent exposees.
  8. The Channel Islands which is NOT part of the UK. 75% of these people are granted asylum (a vast majority from our bombing practice areas - Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria) and are therefore not illegal. The 'culture warriors' brigade don't understand this. Figures are for 2021 as no-one has been processed this year as the officers are only managing 1.65 claims a week (government policy). Claims are taking over 400 days on average. Also, as prevention is better than cure, tell me how many smuggler gangs have been successfully prosecuted in the last 10 years - some 'earning' up to £300K per boat load? Its like Thailand and its drug problem - pursue the little man and ignore the big fish - the problem remains and grows.
  9. Democratic? Did they ask anyone?
  10. I suppose up to now they have been comically monitoring them.
  11. These authoritarian governments have failed over the decades and created the very problem they complain about so how about turn down the authoritarianism so the chances of protests reduce and the need for weapons reduce. Being more authoritarian just won't work and make the problem even worse.
  12. And what did their voice say? Mumble, mumble, tourists, oil, mumble.......
  13. Proactive measures: 1 - Stop driving like a dick err... that's it
  14. Highly important and almost completely useless it would seem.
  15. There is a small matter of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee report which could well conclude that he deliberately misled parliament (mainly because he did). That could bar him from office permanently. Hopefully...
  16. I'm proud to announce that my back yard has been voted top international back yard of the year by highly regarded Really Important Business People magazine. It was commended on having a phone signal (with internet) and a nice folding chair and a swingball.
  17. What's that thing growing out the top of her head? Is it an aerial?
  18. Only a short time before the first cars will be plummeting off the high bridges (because of rain/brake failure/microsleep etc)
  19. Have you tried driving in your sleep?
  20. There was a major frame revision done starting from 2012, identifiable by looking at the seat (it is split into two) and the later ones were a bit lighter and had far less vibration through the bars. I had a 2012 faired model which I owned for 8 years. Great bike - very easy on fuel (65-70mpg), comfortable, fast (130mph) and with loads of torque. Never had a spot of trouble with it and only sold it as I wanted a change. No issues with any cracking. Before selling (and getting a ZZR600), I did try a 2019 model (then called Ninja 650). Bars were a bit lower and it was 20kg lighter which made it felt even more lively but by then I had decided to change to a 4-pot. They're quite basic, no-frills machines but I had 8 years of fun (and 2 trips to the Isle of Man) on mine
  21. Improving floods? Are they hoping for improvements in water to make it less wet?
  22. They charged the trucker with negligent driving causing death. Perhaps you're making up stories.....
  23. So they used these new fangled barriers (far better than those old sand bags), then discovered more seepage so ordered more old sand bags. Hmmmm
