  1. Sorry, and thanks for making me aware of it????, I try my best to write English that is not my first language - I think you shall consider to join the "grammar police group", or perhaps you are already member...????
  2. Seems like they use the TAT-brand calculator, which automatically increase all numbers, to my knowledge the Sandbox began 1st July and the seminar was held 31st August till 2nd September according to the news article...????
  3. Isn't it almost the same protesters that were protesting about something else last year, I recognized some of last year's leaders on the stage, but they seemed populistic to have changed the cause to an at present time more popular one...????
  4. You are welcome to do whatever you think is right, I'm living my life the way that I believe is right, and I got so far no problems living in Land of Smiles, and on Samui, and I don't need to consider moving on to another place. The nation, and its people, have been very kind to me, so I'm extremely happy here...????
  5. Sorry, typo, missed a "k" in front of "now", reads: You should know what immigrants need to do my home country...
  6. No, not in my Scandinavian home country; full rights applies after you apply for citizenship, and you get approved after passing tests, and the parliament thereafter votes for you. Until they get a kind of permanent permission to stay, which takes quite some time, their temporary status to stay can be revoked with a few weeks notice. It's much more easy for me to stay here, than to for example bring my girlfriend - or wife, if we were married - to stay with me in my home country, even we have a child together; it would be somewhere between extremely difficult to impossible, probably the last. Here in Thailand I easily have my permission to stay extended for 12 month. I cannot imagine that "someone disliking" me, as long as I behave reasonable polite, and don't break the law. My fellow countrymen (and women) have been allowed to stay in this country for generations...????

  8. KoSamuiLife.com, a good webpage to check, or follow, if you wish updates about Koh Samui... About KoSamuiLife.com... Sawasdee Ka. Welcome to KoSamuiLife.com ! I'm Nicha, a Thai living in Ko Samui. Even though some people may wonder if I'm sitting somewhere else while updating about what's going on on the island but no, I'm here in Ko Samui ???? KoSamuiLife.com is started by "Samui info by Nicha", a Facebook page for information & daily updates about Ko Samui and its neighbors: Ko Phangan, Ko Tao, and mainland Surat Thani. This website may not be like other newsletter websites, but it's more like a blog by a local living on the island. If there are some errors in the text, I'd like to apologize in advance. Please note that this website is done by Nicha, a Thai who grew up in a Thai family and studied languages in Thailand. This site has an objective to give updates & information to both residents & tourists about the island from a local perspective as well as to support our local businesses. I hope you find this website useful and hope it answers many questions you have regarding Ko Samui and nearby islands. " Best regards, Nicha
  9. You should now what immigrants need to do my home country, Thailand is not bad at all...???? I have by the way been resident guest here for 16 years, it's easy to be allowed to stay, and and I love the country...????????
  10. Bad song - i.e. bad compositions and bad performers - makes me cry...
  11. Yes, and I'm still dreaming about the nurses that I took photos of, I even began to save money and also buy lottery tickets, so I one day can afford their service...
  12. As long as we aliens are not citizens of the nation, we are a kind of guests, even that we might mingle with locals, and bring some foreign currency into the country, and some of us invest in small business. As guests we follow the host's rules. If we wish our expressed views about the nation's leadership to be taken seriously, and being part of electing those that are going to lead the nation, we should apply for citizenship. So it's correct, Thailand is not your country, US is your country, even you don't like US and left it. And as there also seems to be numerous things that don't like in Thailand, perhaps somewhere else might be a better choice; you already talked about moving out in other of your posts. In my view, even that I feel that I have contributed a relative lot financially - "relative" compared to my financial status - and also have Thai family, I haven't applied for citizenship, so I'm still a guest. Therefore shall I follow the host's rules, or leave the nation if I cannot accept the rules...????
  13. The problem with some thousands that attends "the parliament of the streets" is that they are not democracy, they might not represent a majority of the population. A general election shows better what a democratic majority wish for a nation - noting that some seats in a parliament might be reserved for selected, and thereby non-elected, members, the result of a general election still shows what the population wants, and the voters can still express their opinion by voting "none" if they don't like any of the candidates - perhaps the people agrees with the parliament of street, and perhaps they don't agree. We will not know by speculation, only after an election. When thinking back on the last periodes with elected governments, then both red-shirts and yellow-shirts come to mind, and chaotic chaos in the streets - some news articles even mentioned the country was on edge to a civil war - thereafter came a peace, which many wished for, and also better economic performance. Just look at stats, unfortunately the better economy with lower national debt compared to GNP, resulted in a stronger Thai baht currency, which numerous aliens cried about. Looked historically the last 90 years in Thailand have been an ongoing shift between elected governments and military leadership, I'm not sure what is best - even economic stats are in favor of one side - and I'm not sure if it would change in the near future, no matter what "the parliament of the streets", or general elections, might indicate. However, order and stability might be the best for the people in long terms.
  14. 26,000 visitors so far is a good start...???? - then nobody loses face when the remaining 74,000-94,000 tourists don't arrive in September, i.e. predicted 120,000 arrivals in 3rd quarter, later adjusted to only 100,000...????
  15. That are very good questions to consider. I have no close family left in my home country, so I'm in a way dependent of my relationships here; however, I enjoy being alone. When living alone in Thailand you can still see people, and have partners, so you might not sleep alone, but it might not be the same partner every night. But there are benefits with having a steady friend/partner/wife to help you, which might be a relief in many cases, both due to language and culture, sometimes a Thai can get something more easily done, than an alien. However, many lives here without a Thai partner - in the area where I live there are also numerous foreign couples - but they might need a lawyer to sort out some things, that a Thai partner could have handled equally well. I lived alone for about 10 years in my home country, in a way I enjoyed it more than when living with a girlfriend. I've also stayed alone in Thailand - well, you normally always have an option for not sleeping alone, if you choose the right destination, which is a major difference from a Scandinavian home country - and it's actually very easy and relaxing, and you have no obligations. Just smile and being polite can handle a lot, so it's not difficult; I really enjoyed it. But on the other hand, will you be able to stay alone forever; i.e. if for example you plan to grow old, and probably also die, in Thailand? If "look" after yourself means daily needs, then eating out, or have food delivered, is both easy and affordable, if you cannot cook yourself, or just don't want to cook every day; round the corner is often someone doing laundry and ironing for 50 baht or so per kilo; renting a place including some service, like cleaning, is possible; or if you "invest" in a home, a housekeeper, or regular domestic helper, can take care of lot, actually they can handle many things as good as if have a spouse. In my view the major thing to consider is, what happens when you get old. Can you expect that a housekeeper or domestic helper will service you till the end? Today I have a lovely girlfriend, but we are quite independent, meaning not glued together, so my girlfriend has her interests and friends - it can be a relief not need to join as the only alien in a group of continuously chattering girls, and they also have more fun without me - and I have my interests; and some thing we share, like in many relationships. The long term deal is that I take care of my girlfriend now, and she will take care of me, when I grow old, many years from now...???? -However scares me little, when my girlfriend says that she might get old before me...????
  16. Not only there, here is one of their famous pop-stars and his coyote dancers... I however didn't hear about any protests - it might depend of who uses sexy nurses - perhaps a number of the ladies in the audience also were nurses; ladies were outnumbering males, especially up in front of the stage. By the way a great concert - even that I didn't understand a word - and cute dancers...????
  17. It's been like that for long time in Europe, when you passed 40 - in medical terms you are "an elder man" - you should be careful not by accident look at young ladies around 20, which could also be embarrassing for the girl, and you could be considered as "pedophile" by some. Elder men with South East Asian partners - and they are often at least little younger than the man - have often been looked down at; especially if the partner where Thai, she could be called "buying-bitch from Thailand". I've sometimes wondered is it was due to envy, i.e. many men dreams about a young partner, and many women also...???? I agree with you, it's also my impression that people today more easily get offended; however if you are famous, or public known wealthy - preferably both - it's still cool when you have a young partner...???? In Thailand a young partner reflects status and money, i.e. that you can afford one, eventual as mia noi. I've been saving up for a while, and also I plays the lottery, perhaps I'll be lucky and can also afford one, one day...????
  18. The process is the same. If your are going to work in a company your own up to 49 percent of as shareholder, the company normally needs 2 million baht in registered shareholder capital and 4 Thai employees for the first work permit-permission for an alien. You cannot do work reserved for Thais, often aliens are employed for management positions, or where specialist expertise is required.. Normally not, but a diploma might be a benefit, depending of where you are seeking employment, and what kind of business.
  19. As shareholders in the company it's no problem to be owner of shares, but they cannot be registered as directors before they are 20 years of age. You need to check with the company's accountant or lawyer about eventual documentation of funds for the minor shareholders, i.e. if a gift will be free of tax, like inheritance is. The owner-status of the condo is unchanged, it's still owned by the company.
  20. If it was me, then I would take it - due to age I was offered two AZ-jabs instead - Sinovac is an old-fashioned type of vaccine based on dead virus from the original Wuhan-strain, but still seemed to give some 13-14% protection against the Delta-variant after first jab, which is a lot better than nothing. With the second AZ jab you would be protected equally good as if you had two AZ jabs, according to what I've read in the news. You can anyway expect to need a booster jab within a year, and next year there will be plenty of vaccines available, also new brands and probably new types, which might be more efficiant (one in test now, so far gives 100% protection, also against Delta). So what you get now, is not that important, if you are not going to travel abroad where a mix might not be recognized as vaccinated. A good site to compare the various vaccines in use is HERE.
  21. No, I'm still pro for vaccines, and I'm looking forward to receive my second jab...????
  22. I wonder where they get these numbers from, cannot be the success of Phuket Sandbox, which is some 90,000 short to be topped up this month, compared to the originally predicted 120,000 tourist arrivals - and the Russians seem to head for Krabi, at least 500,000 of them which could be all Russian arrivals, if nor more, and Samui+ is also going to have their fair share; are there really so many tourists "for sure" queuing up to enter Thailand before year end...????
