  1. Sun shining today. First time in almost 3 days. We have had steady rain for the past 2 days. No storms and not much wind. Very good for the rice.

I was looking at the immigration website. Hotels are required to file the TM30 as are individuals hosting a foreigner overnight. But if the hotel has already filed the TM30 I don't understand why the individual would have to file another.

When the Hotel files a TM30 then that is your new place of abode according to the TM30 system. It then has to be updated by you lodging your TM30 to adjust the TM30 system to show you are back at your home. I was explained this by Immigration in Phayao in 2017. The officer actually showed me the screen that my place of living was a hotel in Chiang Mai. The TM30 system does not pick up any information from other immigration systems.

After almost 12 months of Transferwise sending MY money to MY Bangkok Bank account and it showing as a Foreign transfer, this month they sent it via the Kasikorn bank then onto my BKK bank which now shows a domestic transfer so no marriage extension for me next month. However this post by Glegolo was very helpful and I hope It will resolve my Problems next year.

I have used Transferwise for 2 years and have been very satisfied.  However maybe there is a better way forward.

This year in April  I did my retirement extension using 12 months of transfers of more then 65,000B per month. There were 3 that had come via Kasikorn Bank and then into my Bangkok Bank Immigration were not that worried because I showed that they had originated from Australia by showing my Transferwise PDFs.

Good idea is to check with your local Immigration office what they will accept.

It's around but definitely patchy, we had a good fall yesterday of about an inch.

Same down here. Good rain yesterday for 30 min. The 2 days before thunderstorms east of Phayao and again today.

  5. In May June 2016 the lake dropped to a very low level. Lower than it is now. The Wat in the lake which people visit by boat had to have a foot bridge erected so the tourists could visit. It was only temporary . On the western side of the lake they also excavated  parts of the lake to allow greater water storage.

In  April the newly appointed Minister for Agriculture was nothing more than a Democratic Party toe rag who was politically maneuvering his way to the Prayut trough reserved for those who voted for him to be the new Supremo.

If he knows anything about agriculture it would come as a surprise.

My comment was a about the Ministry, which was around in April, not the minister.  It was also a tongue in check about wasted water at Songkran

I have been using Transferwise for several month and recently ran into big problems with POLI transfer choice. I then changed to Bank transfer to my same bank in Thailand - SCB.

Transferwise had changed its bank details in Australia - Same bank but new account details (strange - -).

As a result I had to delete recipient accounts then recreate them to get the system functioning again.  Transferwise did not notify me and I found out the hard way when my transfers failed and they refunded my money back to My Aussie bank.  This created a hole in my June 65000 baht allocation and I'm yet to resolve that with local immigration (fingers crossed!)  Monies in the July transfers will show remedial activity.  I just hope Immigration accepts the variance.

I use Transferwise from Australia. I was sent an email from Transferwise re the new bank account. When I made my next transfer I was actually then given the new account number before I finalised the transfer.
