This reply references TM30. My limited understanding of the regs leads me to believe that this person should submit TM28. Would doing so enable him to avoid the fine? I understand that TM30 is the responsibility of the landlord? Yes? No?
The OP has lived in Phayao before. He would therefore be returning to his apartment so a new TM30 would be required. Technically the landlord should submit it but in reality the tenant does.
I always submit my TM30 as my land lord under definition is my wife.

Then you are not an Aussie if 13kms is too far .. We use to travel 150 klm just to go on a picnic as most Aussies love to travel. 4 years ago had ice on my windscreen here in chiang rai
Thanks Keevy.
In Aust it would be okay. Especially in the Top End where I used to live. Here it is too dangerous with the local drivers. Safer to drink at home.
I remember ice on my windscreen in 2012. It was hail

@ripstanley I currently don't have a teaching job lined up, but am thinking about it a few months down the road. For the time being I got a place to the east of the highway, not far from Ram Hospital. Is there a pub where farang hang out? I've seen a few in trucks and on motorcycles but haven't met anybody yet. I'm in Tokyo now, but will be back in Phayao in May.
I do not drink very much in Phayao. Too far to drive. We are 13 kms out. I have been told that there is a bar down near the lake where a few farang hang out. It is near the old house that is being restored. It is about 100 meters back towards the King statue from the old house.
Be aware that Phayao Immigration are very hot on TM30s. You have to report or be reported within 24 hours of arrival They also want one when you return from travelling within Thailand.

i live near Phayao. We live on the western side of the lake. I have lived here full time since 2011. The coldest it has been in that time was 9 C. That was a few years ago. Over the last few years I have had tracksuit bottoms on but only for a few hours in the morning. This last year has been a lot warmer. I am talking about from December to end of February. The rest of the year it is very warm.
Which school will you be teaching at? Phayao does not have a large farang population but it is a friendly place.

Anyway my first few years I did alright actually finished in the final 3 one year beating my brother. Last couple of years could not pick a nose.
But here I am on top of the ladder, the stairway to heaven as Alex would put it but my stairway is not attached to lovely legs.
Now just to add a tech bit here, my MacBook Pro has a battery swelling problem. Earlier mackbooks and later ones it is easy to change the battery but for mine 2014 to 2016 they have glued the battery in. In my earlier days I would have attempted the whole removal and mess around thing but maybe I buy new and give old one to Thai step son
Anyway I am happy to be No 1 and relish the applause but I do not expect to be there at round 22Well done Gazman. Great tipping

Sorry ALEX
Once you get 5 tips yourself the extra tip you gained from forgetting to tip is lost. That is why you only got 5.

Any other Thailand residents having problems connecting to AFL.com.
I keep getting message that cannot connect to server.
Earlier this year it was pathetic. I live in Phayao. I sent them an email with my complaints. No response but it has improved a lot. I have found that when I log onto the site it takes about 30 secs to load.

If a punter forgets to enter his/her tips, or has joined the comp late, he/she defaults to the away team for a maximum of five wins per round.
I notice that both away teams have won so far this round, so that's two correct if he/she did forget.
So wot happens if the said punter puts his/her tips in for the remaining seven games. Is he/she stuck with the five win max, or could he/she potentially go on to claim nine right.
I have read the tipping website and it appears to be silent on this issue.
Anyone?
The maximum the tipster would get is 7 if the remaining tips won. It happened to Grant a few years ago. He missed the first game and was given the away team that won. His remaining tips won and was only given 8/9. I queried it with the tipping comp and they explained that once you exceed 5 wins then that non tip does not count.
I hope this helps.

Guys, Bigwaz was in the tipping for the last couple of years. He is married to my step daughter and Ron asked him if he wanted to join. At the end of the season some players asked who,he was and made comment about people not joining the comp if they did not partake in ThaiVisa by making comments etc. just getting to general mood whether you wanted more numbers or wanted to limit membership, thanks
Bigwaz has been a part of our comp for a number of years. I have no problem with him being involved again.

Ummm. A couple of quickies chaps.
1. I'm guessing if I don't get my tips in in time, they default to home side, right?
2. Only the first game allowed me to select by how much. Why?
Sorry in advance if I'm absent from tipping on some weeks. Other crappy things going on.
Go Tiger!
1 They default to AWAY teams with a maximum of 5.
2 That is their rule.
3 You can tip now if you like.

We lost Ron, but I hope that the new kids on the block, Stud and Wendy are interested. I suspect that Rip is still lurking on our footy thread, SO HE MIGHT COME OUT OF RETIREMENT.
I love this stage of the season, as hope springs eternal. Oh, look!!! Carlton is third on the ladder. How are your boys doing WILL?
Retirement has finished.

Hi Fellas
I just want to let you know I will not be posting on this website again. Thanks for a great time with the friendly banter and fun. Four teams left and I hope Melbourne make the GF. Have fun.

Normanski, by now you will probably have realised that it would be helpful if received information from people who do their marriage extensions at the same immigration office where you plan to do yours. Would you care to post what immigration office this is?
In post #7 he says it is Chiang Mai.

The exodus of Swans is continuing Nic Newman WILL be parting the waters of the Murry river and coming home, as in ancient times the wandering Israelites left Sydney and wandered for 40 years in the desert before reaching the mecca of football....
.
If Newman leaves the Swans he will go north to the Suns Dew has a good draw card.

heh Rip... what did you think of the changes that are happening there , did you see the outside food shops ? I seen about 20 people with hard hats on in suits walking around the outside looking at different areas..
The outside eating is okay. I think they will return back inside once the renovations have been complete. One place said to the wife she was not ready as it was before 1100. The place we selected was and had great food.

Was at Central this morning at 1020. Out the front of Tops now has Priority Parking, Taxis and the yellow free shuttle vehicles. There are still a few parking bays for Tops customers. Had to wait a few minutes for the security guard to move the tape and a couple of barriers. Great parking spot. The wife went and spoke to security to secure the park.
Went and ate in the new area then shopped in Tops.Returned to our vehicle at 1120 and were not parked in. They still had the barriers in place . Well done Central, this time that is.
