I used to have issues with both ears and got them syringed out fairly regularly over a 20 year period, usually by a nurse. Worked wonders. Eventually, a Doctor noticed that I had an infection in both ears, Otomize spray was life changing for me, rarely have problems since. But as OP says, Syringing for me worked a lot better than the modern suction method and I really miss the syringing.

Seems the further north I go, the gayer it gets. Last time I went up north was about 2011. I remember seeing a demonstration of JuJitsu years ago when I was starting out. Went to hall to get my 3rd belt, saw loads of infirm looking old men sat down. Next thing I see, these old men are practicing JuJitsu on each other and were more "violent" than what we were learning. I suggested it to him that I would like to try daily tablets, and with the research I had done, seemed to help with any potential prostate cancer issues. He was taken aback that I knew that and wrote me a prescription immediately afterwards
