  1. Bangkok Post had an article/poll that was with the opposition just a small victory. The poll was very different than the other ones. Either some polls are propaganda or just too cheaply made. I see after the election the banning of 2 parties or at least some people from these parties, as there are already wrongdoings that look obvious that are reported to the EC. When the parties are disbanded you can cheaply buy some of their MPs. I can't imagine what shocking discovery?
  2. OK, I never have seen something like that...not even when there was the uprising against Thaksin. I can't predict what the majority feel. A lot loud noises are noticed more than some silent majority.
  3. yes I can also foresee political turmoil in Thailand.....That does not need any skills as there is always some political turmoil
  4. I doubt "hate" is the right word. I don't see too much emotions. And I hope we don't get emotional times like the yellow or red shirts again....Hope it continues calm no matter who is the grifter in charge.
  5. Yes....from 2002 till now I have never seen a government, democratic or military does reverse something bad or expensive from the previous government. Doing some big reforms, changing the country to either more socialist or more libertarian.....no they pretty much continued
  6. Well I heard the people in my office (in Bangkok, with some southerns) talk about politics and they pretty much like him.
  7. Sure.....but that doesn't mean much. I recall the forming of the Abhisit government where they had to take the mobile phones and lock them into a hotel, as Thaksins wife called them one by one and offered more money. And buying out a few of them collapse everything. The complete system is rotten. The 250 are not a sure thing. If Prayut is second and best would be with the majority of votes (like last time) they can easily vote for him. But if he is third or 4th it will be difficult to explain. They can't make a looser to be premier .... well they can but I think the wouldn't do it....I hope for some 10 party coalition. Because as more they block themself as less they can do.....as less the government can do as better for the people. (being cynical)
  8. I found a 16inch wall mounted with remote control for 2035 Baht including invoice for company (so we can give it for revenue department). Somewhere it says on Lazada (or Shopee...can't remember) "Made in Japan". No idea if it is true..... I thought of taking an industrial motor 3 phase motor and put a controller on it and make a own fan that lasts for a 1000 years. But really not worth it....Normally something like a fan should run "forever" without any service.
  9. After the elections we'll first have month of coalition negotiations....and MP buying (similar to the vote buying)
  10. Changing the capacitor is the solution for many problems....aircondition fan or compressor....like 30-50% of all the problems.
  11. Dying after one year would be more OK than bad as new product and that wall mounted with remote are not that cheap...(I can't remember but something in the 2000-3000 Baht range, like 10 days of work for a low income labor). Not really an issue but I see/hear them every day clackclackclack....enough to annoy me, not enough to me doing something. I'll report of the Mitsubishi are better
  12. Many people interested in elections is a good sign for democracy, no matter who they vote for.
  13. "extended period of hot weather relative to the expected conditions" yes it is the hottest season so it is expected
  14. I strongly disagree with Hatari fans.... Have some wall mounted.....Almost new: For one the swing does not work, another the swing works, but bad sound. A third the fan blades are not balanced so it has a lot vibrations which makes noise....And beside the swing not working, the problem exist when they were brand new. I considered to fix things, but than I was too lazy. Played with the idea to make a fan from 3D printed parts myself but really as much as I would love to do it as hobby I don't have the time. Now I try Mitsubishi. But I think Hatari is bad quality for the price.
  15. I give you an example that will make the "why" clear....In the office we don't wear masks. But staff comes with motorbike and mask. As most clear example: our accountant is married with one man who works on a machine. They stay at home with family and without mask, put it on before leaving the house. Wear the mask on the motorbike and enter the office with it and take it off there. They aren't afraid of PM2.5. It is something you do if you are a good citizen. Like standing at the national anthem. (Sarcasm before someone think I am really that crazy)
  16. More worrysome is the split in society in the west and the many anger and overreaction.
  17. Asked my wife the same thing a while ago.....she told in Thailand everyone focus on Gold. Silver only for jewellery. I would like to have some silver coins as well...She pointed out, that what helps if they are complete unknown/exotic...
  18. yes because Europe buying a lot, but I assume they'll drop again in price
  19. Really? Have you been there? I have often been on the top floor (not the roof) but never saw anything.
  20. I think we are already over the average time between coups or? If Thailand would make a public holiday for every new constitution we wouldn't need to work anymore
  21. sure, if all play fair and don't brake any laws, everyone should accept it. And I hope you'll think the same when the parties will be disbanded for braking the law. The 10.000 Baht for everyone has the potential and Future Forward also has something already at the court. I am sure if they get disbanded the Red Shirts get angry. If not the yellow...No one will accept the outcome and all will believe they alone are right.
  22. I know several were shot by the military....and also several military were shot by the protestors. But that does not justify to burn some random houses. And my point was: I don't want to have that again, no matter if the red shirts, the man in Dubai or the military is the greater evil. I would rather don't have any of it and boring peace instead.
  23. pulling hair and calling him names made him unconscious....
  24. I don't know the white. I have seen the yellow and I have seen after the red, but not while they were active....Yes it was all about Shinawatra....
